You can really tell Adam is a great speaker when during the whole talk he almost did not show any pictures and yet held me fully immersed in to the topic!
I could listen to him talk for hours! I usually struggle to be totally engaged in something for 20 minutes but this it just flew by. I love Adam! I hope I can meet him some time
I'm 13 years old and Adam Savage is my inspirating for my life. He is literally my hero. Everything he does is something I want to do when I grow up. I still make things in my room and I watch his videos on tested but that doesnt fullfill my longing to do the things he does.
He is an inspiration to me too, though there is one thing we have to keep in mind: when he was 13, he didn't do what he does now. Moreso he did what you were doing when you wrote this comment... I am currently 23 and for the longest time, I would have sold the world for the ability to skip the learning process. But this process enables you to find out what you want, how you want to do it and ultimately, who you want to be. Then you can set out and work towards who you want to be. This will never stop, this is how life works; the more you know, the more there is for you to know because you can now ask different questions and open new worlds. Don't try to copy him. We need an Adam Savage in this world, but we need you in this world too, the way you truly are :D Now I will go out there and make something, I hope you do too. Enjoy yourself and stick to what you want to do; trust me, you'll come back to it later anyways, so just get on it! :D :D
I was 13 too 6 years ago and feeling the same way! Now 6 years later and I'm majoring in theater tech in effort to always be a part of storytelling. How are you doing?
I did a crusader costume for the NYC halloween parade once and had a coin pouch on my belt with chocolate gold coins I would give to kids when they took pictures with me. Made me smile to hear Adam did something so similar.
I Consider Adam Savage to be one of my all time Heroes, right up there with Leonardo DaVinci and Walt Disney! What I found out from watching this is that I am actually FIVE years older than him! We could have been childhood friends!
this was awesome and kinda reminded me as a kid. i used to draw props and costumes and make em, even the make up. i used to like doing it outta scrap things around the house too, my mum thought i made rubbish, little did she know it was my hobby. i loved it, and still miss it.
I appreciate that even a smart, deliberate person like Adam Savage has a brain which wants to combine "an other" and "whole" into "a whole 'nother." I imagine most of us do that without realizing. (Prolepses & obviation: I understand "an other" is usually written as one word.)
The armour room at the Toronto Museum was amazing. Then in 1978ish they sold it all. It was the epic center of the museum, and they gutted it. I think much of it to the MOMA.
A movie about a 47 year old man telling stories to a 14 year old boy trying to find his place in the world, who would then make props based off of the stories and go on fantastical adventures.
adam savage is bae. i would love to see him make a plumbus from rick and morty. there are many i have seen, 3d printed and handmade but none of them look exactly like what is in the show.
It's great that some parrents support their children's hobbies. And here I am and my dad stole my tools and pawned em to by oxycontin. Lol such is life!
07:28 Fortunately, I've never made art that would be stored in a school, but I've never understood how principals can be so ignorant about that. My school's old principal did the same exact thing. Why can't they at least sell the art, and then throw away what people don't care about? At least then the money could be used for the art program.
BTW he says sorry for the matrix sequels and Terminator 3… in other TESTED videos Adam also mentions how terrible the Star Wars prequels were. Clearly wouldn't have been a great thing to say at something to do with Skywalker Sound!
Fuck Mr Jackson. The remainder is the number that remains? Wow, that's so insightful. Thanks Mr Jackson, I wished you'd been my maths teacher when I was at school!
If there is nothing on the display behind Adam please do not cut to that shot. Also the over the audience wide shot is unnecessary if it is one man standing on the stage not moving around very much. I know that you went to the MTV school of cutting to different shots in quick unnecessary and a annoying manner. But you can move beyond that. Just keep a camera on Adam. Maybe do a cut every other minute or longer. I have a attention span that can go longer than five minutes without a screen jump. Thank you.
Adam the Savage. What is a "savage"? The dictionary defines it as, *sav·age* ˈ/savij/ (of an animal or force of nature) fierce, violent, and uncontrolled. (chiefly in historical or literary contexts) a member of a people regarded as primitive and uncivilized. "(especially of a dog or wild animal) attack ferociously and maul." Those don't sound like Adam or do they? "Fierce, violent, and uncontrolled?" Sure it does, he explodes everything they can touch on 'Mythbusters'. While they do control the safety during one, the explosions themselves are not controlled. Neither is Adam's excitement or joy controlled, while witnessing and participating in these amazing events. "A member of a people regarded as primitive and uncivilized", can't be him...can it? He's part of the crew! If there is a group that is seen as grunts on a movie production, it's the builders. The people who "can't read but swing a hammer". Adam has always been crew and will wear the moniker proudly. Even if it does earn him the reputation of "uncivilized"! "Attack ferociously and maul?" Adam would never, he's a pacifistic almost. Except when it comes to a project and his loved ones. He attacks everything with vigor and without restraint. He is ferocious in his acquisition of skills and understanding. He would maul the world to protect his friends and family. So, I have to declare with all the admiration and respect I have in me, that A. Savage, is indeed a savage.
You can really tell Adam is a great speaker when during the whole talk he almost did not show any pictures and yet held me fully immersed in to the topic!
I love his passion. He is probably my favourite person in the world, because he makes having a passion for something, regardless of what it is, cool.
+Ken Oaklea Absolutely. Mine too. Fot the same reason. :)
well said.
For me he is on the same level as Musk. Both are very amazing persons.
Well said
*This* is passion defined. Something everyone should look for and find in life.
Adam's passion is apparent and all of us should seek to obtain our own.
I could listen to him talk for hours! I usually struggle to be totally engaged in something for 20 minutes but this it just flew by. I love Adam! I hope I can meet him some time
Well, thanks for the comment, I just realized that this was 20 Minutes :O
Adam savage is my favorite person alive.
I want to be Adam Savage when I grow up...I'm 50 and still haven't grown up.
I would argue that being 50 and not have grown up yet constitutes being Adam Savage...at least the parts that matter.
I'm 13 years old and Adam Savage is my inspirating for my life. He is literally my hero. Everything he does is something I want to do when I grow up. I still make things in my room and I watch his videos on tested but that doesnt fullfill my longing to do the things he does.

same here, but i'm 12. #AdamForPresident
I was 13 too 6 years ago and feeling the same way! Now 6 years later and I'm majoring in theater tech in effort to always be a part of storytelling. How are you doing?
I absolutely love his enthusiasm! always makes me want to create things as well.
That was a phenominal talk! What a great perspective on stories, the imagination, and their ability to really connect us.
HIs passion. Oh my god, i got goosebumps several times throughout this video. He is my hero
I did a crusader costume for the NYC halloween parade once and had a coin pouch on my belt with chocolate gold coins I would give to kids when they took pictures with me. Made me smile to hear Adam did something so similar.
Brought tears to my eyes
I Consider Adam Savage to be one of my all time Heroes, right up there with Leonardo DaVinci and Walt Disney! What I found out from watching this is that I am actually FIVE years older than him! We could have been childhood friends!
Adam's the man, I love this guy, so much passion.
4:44 1981 halloween was exactly 25 years ago. That's kewl
this was awesome and kinda reminded me as a kid. i used to draw props and costumes and make em, even the make up. i used to like doing it outta scrap things around the house too, my mum thought i made rubbish, little did she know it was my hobby. i loved it, and still miss it.
I got goosebumps when he started talking about Spirited Away
I appreciate that even a smart, deliberate person like Adam Savage has a brain which wants to combine "an other" and "whole" into "a whole 'nother." I imagine most of us do that without realizing.

welcome to the english language. every human speaks it differantly.
Rinoa Super-Genius Opposite of my point.
Jamie Den Adel
well then, welcome to the idea of an argument/debate also.
That's what you took from this video? I imagine it must be exhausting being around you.
This man is a genius.
Wow! I was totally absorbed in Adam's enthusiasm here.
The armour room at the Toronto Museum was amazing. Then in 1978ish they sold it all. It was the epic center of the museum, and they gutted it. I think much of it to the MOMA.
What the duck? Where did it go?!
He has so much passion.
I'm sorry but the principal should have asked him if he wanted his stuff back. Not just throw it out.
He makes being a nerd Kool. I mean that in the best way.
A movie about a 47 year old man telling stories to a 14 year old boy trying to find his place in the world, who would then make props based off of the stories and go on fantastical adventures.
pretty cool huh?
powerful speech
It SHOULD be legal to sue that principle's ass!
What a powerful message... Adam is definitely one of my inspirations. I hope one day to be like him
Inspirational. I love it. Now I wanna make something.
adam savage is bae. i would love to see him make a plumbus from rick and morty. there are many i have seen, 3d printed and handmade but none of them look exactly like what is in the show.
i think i actually cried a little :) i love adam XD
I'm starting to wonder if Adam still doesn't understand 'Spirited Away', as he never mentioned what is really about.
It's great that some parrents support their children's hobbies. And here I am and my dad stole my tools and pawned em to by oxycontin.
Lol such is life!
would have loved to see the visual aids that were seemingly supposed to be dsiplayed
What a lovely story :)

i loved that video!
Adam, youre my hero.
Wow this is awesome
The Man, The Legend...
I find it very comforting that this man has ADHD like me
I could relate my childhood so much to his. it's creepy.
Marvelous😍
Obsession.
That opening cartoon looked a bit more like Dr. House than Adam Savage. Heh.
Adam, don't apologise for T3, you're part in it's narrative was flawless. Unless of course you wrote the script.
Interesting he didn't say sorry for The Star Wars Prequels.
+David Oakes he didnt do the story he did the props
BTW he says sorry for the matrix sequels and Terminator 3… in other TESTED videos Adam also mentions how terrible the Star Wars prequels were. Clearly wouldn't have been a great thing to say at something to do with Skywalker Sound!
He also hates Indiana Jones 2 and 3 and obviously 4.
Yeah he calls them "The Raiders Films". Weirdly though he has the mystic stone props from Temple of Doom which he treasures?
+SethHesio Films you find terrible can still have props in them you really like.
Geographus666 This is true.
+NYRangersfan63 the last crusade was so good tho
Dr. Strangelove is the best movie that exists and nothing can change my opinion, and I'm so glad a person I look up to thinks just the same :)
love this guy
"With sharp-ened sticks"
Nice
Fuck Mr Jackson. The remainder is the number that remains? Wow, that's so insightful. Thanks Mr Jackson, I wished you'd been my maths teacher when I was at school!
Granted I happen to like Adam and admire his skills and have found mine because of him. But it becomes and obsession that will eventually inhale you.
Windows vs Mac durability yes plez
IBM and GRiD laptops win.
Savage, i got love for ya.
The producers of Mythbusters were deeks for creating drama between Adam and Jamie. We could have gotten a few more seasons.
Orson Welles said there are three types of people..men, women, and actors. There may be a few more....
This could be 2 hours
Nice talk but why aren't there any pictures? I want to see the things he's made. This is just 20 minutes of talking.
check his channel. Tested
Shouldn't the gum in the Dr Strangelove pack be Beaman's ?
Traditional choice of pilots :-)

Hold on, did he imply that The Last Crusade was a bad movie??
I liked it.
I wish Adam was my father! : )
I love his passion too...but how dare he speak ill of Indiana Jones: The Last Crusade
No face is actually the representation of a Japanese shinigami... :)
1:29 Guy on the right is already bored.
So... why would the survival pack have lipstick in it? I still don't understand that one.
+LittleMikey most likely for trading. Lipstick and stockings was worth a lot in Russia under the cold war.
or if they needed a disguise...?
So, basically you reject our reality and subsitute your own? ;)
