    I must say Adam is an obviously smart guy but the interviewer was really on her A game. She was witty and impressive. She had some great questions and even better responses to unexpected events like the man yelling outside the cave. Bravo!

      Totally agree, she is extremely good at asking great questions and her responses where excellent too, I could see her delight in some of Adams replies and also his difficulties. Indre Viskontas is one to look out for in future !

    What a great interview!
    And on behalf of humans everywhere, thank you for not leaving "that feminist skewed gamergate question alone", and for condemning the sort of negative behaviour some few, vocal, males are engaged in. Misogyny is a men's issue. Any man not actively part of the solution is actively part of the problem.
    Here's to being part of the solution.

    Adam was right. There are many UA-cam channels I subscribe to that are low budget. I watch them because they are hosted by interesting or amusing people. For science, Tom Scott is phenominally good, as are Hank Green, Steve Mould, Dr. Becky, Physics Girl, and Derek at Veritasium. Historians Simon Whistler's many channels and The History Guy fill my watching time. Musicians Rick Beato, Rhett Schull, Larkin Poe, Paul Davids, Adam Neely, and Mary Spender are at the top of my list.

    I was really not looking forward to the Gamergate part of the interview, worrying that he might blindly jump on the bandwagon (something Tested had done by thinking it was a good idea to upload a Rebecca Watson video while oblivious to who she was), but Adam here answered the question like a skilful politician (I know that sounds like an insult but it's not), he acknowledged his ignorance on the issue then proceeded to say how he feels about people who are vocally out there to express "rage against women", we know such people exist, but he didn't say they are part of nor is the goal of the GamerGate movement, he basically changed topic subtly and said something generally positive that no one could disagree with.

    Isnt the gamer gate situation surrounding about personal favors being done for success in gaming jounralism, which just so happened to include a female. Why is that event being thrown into this question?

    • @ezekieljoule8853
      @ezekieljoule8853 9 років тому +1

      My understanding is it has expanded to include complaints about portrayal of women in games (either not enough women or the sexualization of them), as well as the percentage of women in STEM (Science, Tech, Engineering, Mathematics) fields. Male gamers have rallied behind it because they are afraid that the games they like will be destroyed or changed to cater to people who don't currently play them.

  • @ezekieljoule8853

    Personally I support the aspects of #gamergate that address complaints that are made against games.
    To illustrate my opinion: How would you feel if everything that Apple produced was dictated by PC users who demanded that the aspects of Macs that differed from PCs be changed. Another example would be for men to demand that fashion and makeup companies give equal weight to men as they do to women in an effort to eliminate sexism (even to the point of being unprofitable).
    If you don't like a game for its portrayal of women then don't buy it. If a game is successful and the company decides to make a sequel to it then there is clearly an audience for it (an example that comes to mind would be the Dead or Alive series and their volleyball subset of games).
    If a company wants to exercise its freedom of expression and meet the needs of a particular gender (or market) they should be free to do so without pressure to cater to those who won't purchase the game in the first place.
    I don't approve of the harassment that some members of #gamergate have done. However I support many of the ideas and opinions that it represents and have a distaste for the misrepresentation that the media has given to it.

      I've seen a lot of Adam on many different platforms recently and one of the things that has struck me is how good of a person he is. He is more than willing to work with someone with two subscribers if it will help him improve the understanding of those around him. And he will treat that person the same as a billionaire TV personality. It's just how he is.

    • @jeepmanxj

      Adam has been on both sides of the coin. A nobody, to a person people are interested in. He seems to give people time who have genuine interest in him, not only to help them out, but to let people know about himself and what drives him.

    Ugh... Gamergate was not about an issue of gender. It was originally about the integrity of the gaming industry and game journalism.
    These professional victims are starting to piss me off. They are somehow managing to mutate topics to their own causes thanks to ignorant people. Please people talk to real feminists and get your facts straight and stop talking to professional victims like Sarkeesian, Zoey Quinn or Rebecca Watson.

    Why the trio left ?

  • @NightFang150
    @NightFang150 8 років тому +1

    I feel as if many of the professional gamers in the community do not care whether or not women increase their numbers in the gaming community. I think it is more among the common hobby gamers that feel like women gaming makes them less masculine and macho. Our society teaches that if a woman is better than a man at something, it makes the man less of a man. If a man is better than a man, nothing is seen as wrong with it. Only if the "weaker" sex is "stronger" is there a problem.

  • @DruidicRifleman

    So tested is created by Adam Savage? I watched, subscribed, and later unsubscribed from that channel and still have no idea what it is about. The only videos they post which I am interested in watching are the ones Adam is in. I totally don't get it and don't particularly care for the hosts on that channel.

    •  9 років тому +1

      I'm the other way around.
      I liked tested before Adam. It was a tech channel about tech stuff. Not they are like some tech stuff, then modeling, then cosplay, then 3d modeling.... It's confusing having all that stuff together.
      I don't get why didn't Mythbusters just start their own channel.
      But, don't get me wrong I still like Adam's podcasts, I learned a lot of stuff from them.
      One more thing, the site is called Jaime's and Adam's Tested and we did not see Jaime for a long time on the site.

    • @Samtagri
      @Samtagri 9 років тому

      Ivan Kolić so it was there before Adam joined them? And now it is called Adam and Jaime's tested?? This is even more confusing.
      And you liked watching Will Smith? This guy needs to get punched to shut the hell up. Cannot stand him.

    •  9 років тому +1

      Samtagri I think Will is a good counter balance for Norm. Norm is a great reviewer, and is more formal in his talks, Will goofs off and makes jokes so they complement each other.

    • @ian-c.01
      @ian-c.01 9 років тому +1

      Ivan Kolić "Will goofs off and makes jokes", you could put it that way, another way of looking at it is he is a highly irritating caffeine freak.

    Too bad you didn’t do more on the youTube channel. The reason I stopped listening to podcasts was because of the commercials which I despise. I get youTube without commercials for the fee I pay. Sigh… I really hate capitalism. Look at what it is doing to our world. Now we are deep into climate change with no real way out so far and mostly being vapidly ignored.. Is capitalism going to save us from itself? I doubt it.
