Great video and your kids are so funny and proud of their daddy's jeep. Adventure On!
Love that your son is there wrenching with ya. Making memories like this is the best to reflect on years later when he's all grown up.
Cheers, man. Waiting on my order of my RPM Steering links now. Can't wait!
He loves to help “fix” The jeep 😂 but I agree. Hopefully one day we can wrench together. Hope you like your steering links! I’ve been very happy with mine
Your kids are amazing. Thank you for bringing them up correctly .
Thanks for the kind words. They are great kids no doubt! and they love to go jeeping
Nice video, nice jeep and great little helpers my friend. Im here comparing the RPM's to the Rock Krawler steering I just bought. Thank you for your time my friend.
The kids are awesome. Enjoyed the video as I am going to purchase a rpm steering kit.
They love to help fix the jeep! I think you’ll enjoy it. It’s a great product
have you thought about their track bar? I like that the trackbar is sans a bushing and has RK or johnny joint on both ends
Just watched your video. Exactly what I wanted to see. But no damper?
Yeah it’s been good. Don’t need a stabilizer if you’re geometry is set up right
first time seeing your vids... you get a thumbs up and comment just for the kids... lol... they are cute
Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice is my new project
Nelson en ACCION 4x4 I've been beating on this steering for 6 months now and it's still just as tight as ever. Great stuff
I thought Steer smart's 1.5 ton drag-link and tie-rod were overkill, lol. Nope you were like HA, I want the 2.5 ton ones. lmao. Those little ones clearly look up to there dad. Must be doing something right. Looks amazing. Did notice at 10:18 that the drag-link does lightly impact your frame coming down on the right. Still amazing.
Hard Truth haha the kids love to go on the trails and apparently helping dad in the garage. Yeah I might have to make some adjustments after all.
@@RedRockCrawlers Just go a taller lift and your fine, lol. Still look forward to saying Hi at EJS 2020 and mabey getting an autograph before you blow up on youtube. Cause your vids are getting better. Peace till then. Keep the vids coming.
Man that's some beefy steering. I taco'd both control arms and stripped my draglink threads last week so it's time to upgrade. Oh, and def make a video of your son's jeep build lol.
Do the knuckles need to be drilled out?
Hey just stumbled across this video, looking to do a steering upgrade myself. Did you notice any improvement on road, or was it all mostly off-road improvements. Thanks 🙏🏽
Buy some impact sockets, terrible habit running impacts with chrome sockets.
Just stumbled upon this video. How has the tie rod held up over the last 2 years? I'm looking to upgrade from the dynatrac rod that came with my prorock 60 axles.
It’s been great. I’ve not had a problem with it. Jam nuts are still tight. It’s a great product!
Looks great! Everything still good since install?
Yes i've been really happy with the product. Everything is still tight and adjustable.
You eliminated a steering stabilizer? I have been chasing death wobble and can't seem to cure it. Thus building my front end out. Did/does it actually make frame contact? What Spring are you running (teraflex right?)
yes I took the stabilizer off. If your geometry is correct you shouldn't need a stabilizer. Usually the wobble comes from loose or worn out joints, Your track bar is the usual suspect, check all those link up front, they don't have to move very much to give you death wobble. I have a Rock Krawler 3.5" lift.
Some of this info is good some of it is bad. What they mean by steering geometry is specifically that your steering linkage and track bar need to be at the same angle or with a couple degrees. The mention of bushings being worn out causing death wobble is backwards. Death wobble will cause those bushings to wear but the worn bushings dont cause it. What the worn bushings cause is the track bar/steering bar to shift one way or the other at low speeds/parking lots and as you go into a turn it can shift towards the outside. But 100% promise you if you match the angles of the steering linkage and track bar you will not have death wobble. I'm happy to go more in depth if you need more specifics or you are also welcome to find me on Instagram with my current build @ xjstormtrooper and message me there. I'm always happy to help other Jeepers as I was once a noob and others helped me. I will always reciprocate. Cheers friends
I need to start a death wobble fixing business because 9 out of 10 "professional" shops still dont understand steering physics and geometry. On my first jeep I went to 5 different offroad shops that install and align lifted vehicles, none figured it out. Found a regular old mom&pops tire shop run by old fellers (I mean 70 year old dudes chock full of knowledge) they explained it instantly and clearly and were 110% correct. I can prove that it's not your bushings because I currently have a track bar that the mounting bracket is wallered out and it shifts several inches back and forth, makes clunks and shifts around at low speeds but my geometry is correct and I can easily do 110mph on the freeway smooth as butter and I'm 6"+ with 33x12.50s. Can prove.
I'm going to be installing this kit on my Jeep in a few days. Do you remember what socket size the castle nuts on the tie rods are? How are they holding up?
Just to be clear. You’re asking about the castle nut connecting the tie Rod to the knuckle?
@@RedRockCrawlers Thanks. I nded up going to Home Depot and buying a 27mm socket
@@davetrail good luck with the install! hope you enjoy them as much as I have
Did you put a steering stablizer back on ?
No. I drove around for about a year without it. Then I went to hydro assist
I was going to ask about those on the trail. They look beefy. Are you going to put a stabilizer back on or just run without? Can't wait to see the jeep Duncan is building.
I had just put this on the day before we ran that trail. Happy to say the new linkage worked great! Dunken has some big plans for this jeep of his haha.
Does the back need it too or just the front?
@RedRockCrawlers yes. I bought a jeep but not to familiar on what to do or what to buy to get it lifted
Did your drag link ever hit the frame.
Update! I had the suspension fully flexed out last weekend at Trail Hero and the Drag link did not hit the frame. 3.5" Rock Krawler Kit with 3" bump Stops
Awesome I spoke with Don and ordered the kit. I told him you video helped me make a decision. Im going factory location he said since in running a metalcloak. Thank you very much sir
canadian alignment rack
@@RedRockCrawlers if there is, I want no part of that world. you got an extra stick? you should bring em to HiTR, ill pick up some balls and we can slap em around on the red rock
GraylingOutdoors haha that's a great idea. I've got plenty of sticks, 14 I think? I mean what kind of Canuk would I be without a few to choose from
@@RedRockCrawlers ive got room for a few. would be fun.. I broke my stick playing a drop in game last winter and have yet to replace it.. so many other things.. haha
Reading online that the company went out of business and stiffed all the customers that had orders placed as they requested payment up front for orders they knew they would not be fulfilling.
Bill Romanowski i don't know much about that. I had a great experience with them and their still fulfilling orders currently
Bill, I also Just received mine today, shipped quickly, tracking number & smooth sailing through Canadian Boarder!
Tousy T great to hear! Where in Canada do you live? I grew up in Alberta. Canada will always be home for me
@@tousyt7545 another cad here.my question to u did u installed and how are they holding after this time?
Maybe 2.5 Ton steering links are Overkill? Regardless I'm happy to have it installed. Check out the bonus trail clips at the end!
@BEAR TRAX RC Solid point. Being that i've bent steering parts I felt it was time to make the jump to something better
