- The First Holographic Smartphone Is Coming Late In 2018 The Future Is Now !
AT&T and Verizon announced they will start selling a holographic smartphone later this year. The Red Hydrogen One smartphone is the first phone from video equipment company Red.
The Android phone's amazing feature is a "holographic display" that projects 3D images that can be viewed without special glasses. You will be able to view the images from the sides and behind, and interact with them using special hand gestures. It will also include cameras for capturing the custom 3D images.
Manufacturers continue to add new features -- from waterproofing to animated poop emojis -- to tempt people into upgrading their device. It's unclear if a display that projects images into the air above the phone is just a flashy gimmick or if it will have some practical applications.
The phone will be available later this year, as early as the end of the summer, according to AT&T. Neither carrier announced a price for the phone, but during pre-orders, the price range from $1,295 for an aluminum model to $1,595 for a titanium-based option.

You're not gonna see something like this for the next 10 years, companies are too smart to put this on the market this soon. We still have the iPhone 13-15 of the same phone, different size & color before we see the iPhone 15Flex(flex-screen). Then we have to still have to go through 4 more revised color/size versions of that before we see the iHolophone(holographic-display)
Currently in the iPhone 15 era..hope holographic phones come soon

Believe it or not. I went to some tech guys house for a meeting way back and he happened to be working on something like this. He had a phone on the table and a hologram was coming out of it. To this day I still haven’t seen a similar example online

That's not a hologram since it's not on a flat surface but protruding in three dimensions, that's a volumetric display.
Only have to take a look at augmented reality, VR and hololens to know phones and pcs with holograms are literally a real thing in the coming years. Even keyboards for pc's are able to be simple projections.
You know those 3d holographic computer displays in the movie Avatar where they control the computer with hand gestures? those are real too. You know how the old star trek series has those 'flip-open" communicators? that's because the flip phone was designed in the 1960's- they already had it. Its not predictions when the tech already exists. This phone does too. Its already a reality and has been for years. They're just not going to release it until they're finished milking everyone's money for the old shit that they think is new. They give the hardware out to programmers years in adbvance so there is time to develop apps for it. YEARS in advance; sometimes almost 20 years..

@Reimir125 YT its not a lie it was at the consumer electronics show. every damn phone or new tech that hits the market is already at least 10 years old before it ever hits the stores its called planned obsolescence. They have to do it that way to give software developers time to write apps for it which can take years. I know because I used to be one. I was given windows xp 8 years before it went on sale it was called "codename whistler" so I could write programs for it, duh. otherwise when it hits the store it would be useless because there would be no apps or hardware drivers that work with it, you idiot

For one, 2020 and still waiting. For another, it is an advertisement which can show whatever they want and hide what they dont want you to see. You will either need special glasses for the holographic content to appear as it does in the add and or you will need a specialized transparent enclosure as seen with the butterfly here depending on the size of the image. Consider as well that lack of low light conditions will greatly affect the level of object transparency and the brightness of the screen required will also kill your battery in a manner of minutes.
AND PUT MOTION CENSCORS IN THE VIDEO CHAT TO WHERE IT FEELS LIKE WHEN THEIR TALKING AND MOVING AROUND WE CAN FEEL THEY VIBRATION MAKE THIS THE DOPEST PHONE EVER TO COME OUT!!

It's called 3D Photogrammetry with one camera and stereo photography with two cameras not hologram but it's very interesting technology to have in your cellphone.
It theres a really big holographic tablet with an sandbox app, i could feel godly.

The phone in the video is a takee 1, not a red hydrogen 1. Take 1 has been out since 2015. Red never mentioned anything about mid-air contact.

holographic mobiles need not be as big as today's mobile phones. It should be enough to build them as thin and broad as the battery allows. there will be no need for a big screen because the projection will be on the air out of the mobile body. Even the keyboard can be projected on the surface which the mobile will be put on.

this video is probably fake but i know the technology is possible. A long time ago i had consulted a guy for a web project through a friend of mine and the guy we had hired was working on a hologram phone at his home and had it working. I've seen it work with my own eyes. and it isnt far off from what is shown at 1:30.

High resolution, multiple viewers, no glasses. Directional pixels and eye tracking system. Public demonstrations this fall. A 17” LCD display. No problem to scale up. Can show different content at the same time to different viewers 👍👍. You will probably see the first ECHO-display in cars. Then it will spread to many different segments.
