I'm in nursing school, a new subscriber, and I LOVE watching your videos!! Im currently studying spinal cord injuries and the complications and interventions related to it and because of this video, it helped me remember a ton of questions on my exam today! P.S. I PASSED. So THANK YOU!!!!!
Hey, my name is Tierra. I live in RVA an I'm a Quad. You guys videos help me stay positive an keep me going on days I feel like giving up. I hope to ROLL into you guys one day. Keep up the good work & always STAY POSITIVE!!
Awww...Cole, I know it's hard sharing such personal information, but, we (and I know I speak for many) really appreciate you being so open to share this information. Those who do not have spinal cord injuries take a lot of things for granted and these videos bring awareness to us. So, thank you!!! And, Charisma, I really felt for you when you guys told the story about Cole's shoes, but thank goodness Cole has such an awesome attitude. ♥️ 😊
I find myself increasingly excited about Cole's creative process and ever-improving editing skills. I've lost focus completely on the chair. I think that's a testament to both of you, and I thank you for changing my perspective.
@@coleandcharisma omg I didn't mean to exclude her in any way...It's just she emphasizes your editing and the wotk you put into the actual video being uploaded. I see Charisma. ...Cole, there is so much more going on than you just sitting in that chair looking good...I know it’s not always easy to do, but appreciate your sharing what we don’t see...And talking about your shared experiences shows the love between you two...Overall you help viewers like myself to be more empathetic to anyone in a similar situation...Again, Thank you for sharing!
OMG! Thank you so much Cole and Charisma. I am a para and never heard of AD. That would explain why I get the cold sweats sometimes. I never knew why and just thought it was a coincidence that it let up when I used the restroom. This series about spinal cord injuries is awesome and very informative. Thank you.
Before I found your channel (a while back now), I did not realise all the conditions that can come with an SCI. To be honest, I new nothing about SCI’s at all. I have learned so much from you two. Thank you for continuing to raise awareness, even though the topics and conversations may sometimes be difficult.❤️❤️❤️
Don't ever feel you have to share anything you don't want to share just know that by sharing anything you'll be helping more than you'll probably ever know. Your information, experience and knowledge is so valuable. Thank you xx
Thank you for being so open! New para t4 - it makes me feel better that I’m not the only one who has to go through a checklist every time chills or hot flashes hit. My body is hot more than cold. Makes it difficult here in Texas! Blah! take care and keep posting! You are making a huge difference!
This is such important information. Thank you for your transparency. Love you both. I took care of a quad for 8 years as a massage therapist! My life was forever impacted in such an amazing way! May God bless you as you navigate your way together, through your beautiful love story!
I understand why you not feeling comfortable to get personal on certain of the complication you may experience but trust me its amazing to share that we us. Its a present cause knowledge has great value. We are more aware indeed thanks to you guys!

Thank Cole for being so brave and puttimg yourself out there like that. The more we know the better off we all are. You and Charisma are doing a great job educating the public. I must be your calling.
Thank you for taking the time to talk about this. It’s a constant battle to bring awareness of disabilities. Cole just needed an excuse to hug Charisma with the pressure sores. Watch out for those bars. I have heard UTI’s are common. I wish there was a way to stop them for you. Temperature regulation is a problem for me too (brain surgery involving the cerebellum). Cold showers and heated blanket are my friends. Shoes can cause problems. Don’t feel too. I have done that. I don’t have feeling in one foot. Heart attack talk. You are too young for that.
Hello Lovebirds... thank you for sharing your story about UTI. I had an individual who would get UTIs. I’d work with him for 16 years & no one not even his doctors had explain to me it was in relationship to his urine bag he was getting UTIs from time to time. He has CP (Cerebral palsy) & is in a wheelchair. I’m a (DSP) Direct Support Professional, an ambassador for Ohio DSPs. I advocate to bring awareness about proper care of those who have disabilities so they don’t have to experience things like pressure sores, just to name a few. It is the right of those who have disabilities to live a normal life with out being identify by their disabilities. I am also a DSP Council board member through OADSP (Ohio Alliance of Direct Support Professional). The information that you have shared in this video will help me take issues that I’m seeing within my field to our Director of Ohio developmental disabilities. Thank you so much lovebirds this video has truly educated me. Continue to Stay Positive 💋
I'm not in a wheelchair yet but the doctor said that I should be but I'm to stubborn! I had a severe UTI in June and in no time it turned into sepsis Shock, I was transfered out of town to a bigger hospital and on the way there I had a heart attack, then when I get to the hospital and see my husband is there waiting I just passed out because I knew I was safe with him. I went into respiratory failure after arriving at the new hospital and while the doctor was intubating me I had a massive heart attack. So in all I had a UTI, Sepsis Shock, kidney failure & damage, respiratory failure, 2 heart attacks, heart failure & damage and I was on life support for 10 days! Love you guy's and I enjoy your video's.
Am glad to know all of this Cole drink a lots of water take care of yourself I know that your wife will be there for you and that's a good thing love you guy's so much stay positive God bless your marriage 🙏
Wow very informative. I know you shared a lot of personal things but you don’t know how many people you have helped. Thank you for being so open and vulnerable.
Working as a team reaps massive success! What you both are doing is just the tip of the iceberg. Your channel educates, informs and entertains effortlessly. STAY POSITIVE 😊

Your openness and frankness serves to bring your realities to life, which then positively informs and equips the community at large. Your videos are a dynamic resource, naturally well presented, beautifully edited and a joy to watch. The iceberg principle was genius. Cole and Charisma, you are appreciated. 💞✨
I am a new watcher and have learned so much from you guys, Some topics may seem personal but they help people like me that think... what they are thinking are " stupid questions." of which i learned a long time ago those are only questions that you let linger and never ask. It's not easy being in a wheelchair and dealing with the fact that you'll need it for the rest of your life the muscles lock on their own so massaging is helpful but can be somewhat painful for that person and other illnesses you have to worry about So I know My brother had cerebral palsy
Really enjoying listening to your series on Spinal Cord injury - very informative. Charisma, you are such a jewel with your knowledge to assist Cole with his everyday living-bless you! I never knew so much was involved with a quad -getting schooled for sure. Until next week, stay positive!
so here's how y'all just helped me: i don't have a SCI but i do have a disability + i did just start using a custom wheelchair part-time. i've been super anxious about using it; because i also have OCD + a bit of social anxiety, immersion therapy techniques were recommended. that means for the first few weeks, i use the chair everywhere i go, even if it's just a quick store run + my cane would otherwise suffice. part of my anxiety comes from the looks + comments i get when in a chair + people see me move my legs or stand. 🙄 so, tonight, i had to make a store run + the parking lot was pretty busy. still, i got my chair out of the car, sat down, + headed for the store, head down. when i got to the door this guy who wasn't at all paying attention, ran into me even though i stopped when i saw him coming. so now, i'm flustered, embarrassed, heart beating a little faster, etc. i pull over + decide to resume watching this very video even if it meant i could only listen to you two. focusing on y'all's voices and the content gave me a welcome distraction. y'all's voices were soothing, the content caught my attention + kept it. it was perfect! i was able to release some of the anxiety + accompanying tension + complete my mission. i do appreciate the two of you, your willingness to be vulnerable, + the work you put into the content you give us. it's helped in ways you probably couldn't have even imagined. THANK Y'ALL SOOOO MUCH! ❤✊🏾, Smalls
Sandie you use the right word, it's a blessing not luck, for Cole to have a very true, lovely, Jehovah fearing and caring wife like Charisma that is very hard to find. If there is but few.
Hi y'all! Cole i learn so much from you being so open and raw with your truth. A year ago, My friend had a terrible car accident that changed her life. Today she can NOT move from her neck down. But watching you gives us Hope! Hope to laugh again, hope to feel happy again! Hope to live life to the fullest 🙆
You're sharing so much information and it is so very helpful to others regardless of motor ability. It's priceless information and you shouldn't feel bashful or vulnerable for sharing with us. We're lucky you're being so open. Thank you for that. Side note, you two are just the most charming pair.
Hi Cole and Carissa, I want to say thank you for doing these videos. Because I for three years worked in SCI at the VA. So I know a lot about what y’all are talking about so thank you so much for educating those who are not sure or don’t understand I don’t know thank you so much. Because again for three years I worked in spinal cord injury at the VA until Covid so I definitely understand what my two lovelies are talking
Thank you so much for the information on AD. My husband is a C6 level and has never had problems with AD. I had no idea it could cause a heart attack. Thanks for the information.
Its so amazing how you make things so comprehendable. A lot of the times all these scientific words make it so difficult to understand. I have been on disabilty for more than 10 years. I injured 4 and 5 of my lower back at work. At first it was all about a pulled muscle, but the more aquatic therapy, the excruciating pain was so unbearable Finally they approved an MRI. WC. Ending with both discs crushed, which I feel was from the extensive therapy. After 4 months I lost the ability to walk. I had surgery 4 layers later. I was supposed to go home the following morning, but nope I couldn't walk at ALL. The nerve had swollen so bad, the compression was a nitemare. I had heard the nurses sayin in recovery where are her compression hose. They immediately put them on not even mentioning it anyone. I told my doctor, he was not happy then after 2 days. Dr. Asked me how was,my walking coming along. I told him I hadn't been out of the bed, he LEFT the room and it wasn't a pretty site as that day 2 nurses lost their jobs. I was so upset. I surely didn't want that. I went home after 5 days, and praise God I using. A,wheelchair. 4 days after being home I developed a 22cm blood clot,in my right leg. It caused a loss of,blood, flow from my buttocks, groin, leg. And,foot. I have been diagnosed with chronic pain and blood floor, neuropathy in both legs and feet. Drs. Have wanted me to have a spinal cord stimulator, I just can't take that chance. Standing is not. An option the pain in lower back intolerable. Walking Not! Laying down helps the pain but all my limbs are either burning, throbbing, stabbing, numb, I'm afraid I'm going to loose my toes and fingers both of which turning black,at tips. What's a girl to do? Cole you are a fine young man, inspirational, and opening up your world,is so amazing giving so many a door to open in their lives. Thanks so. Much both of you for all you do. God bless you always.
Thank you for your videos. It helps us with our own journey living with a spinal cord injury. Our life was essentially ruined but we still have to live. Thank you for helping us learn how to live rather than exist. Love y'all, Carlos and Mandy.
Yes! It’s very important to take good care of pressure-sores, I’m a Caregiver myself and all we need to do is simply turn our residents as often as we can, it’s kind of like leaving your car in one spot for a long time and the tires are flat. Thank God you have someone to take good care of that. Keep up the good work. 👩🏼🦰🌺
I have enjoyed your videos so much! You two are an incredibly blessed and precious couple. You both radiate hope, love, kindness and respect. Last night, my husband and I ate at a restaurant and the husband of the couple sitting next to us, (while we waited to be seated) was paralyzed and in a wheelchair. Because of your channel, I had so much respect and admiration towards this couple! I hope I get to meet you someday.
It’s unbelievable how God gave you a gift like Charisma, that’s how good God is to you Cole. I can tell how good a person you are, so God gave you a Love that’s honest and pure. Everything is happening for a reason, with God.
AD is pretty cool (given that you catch it and interpret it as quickly as Cole describes here). The direct cause and effect warning signal system is so valuable. Learned something new.
Very personal and informative....however, the positive attitude with SCI and supportive fiance' is the greatest lesson I've learned. You have no idea how impactual and influencial you are! Thanks a million C & C.😍😍 #unforgettable #lifechangers #staypositive
No such thing as luck. You are blessed not to get pressure sores. You are blessed to have such great personalities that keep you positive. You are blessed to have such great parents. You are blessed to be able to use youtube to enlighten everyone and earn money.
Now that was very informative. Thank you guys for taking the time to do that. Some very personal stuff ( Cole I'm sending you a hug for sharing) but we are much more knowledgeable and have greater insight because of your video. Love y'all.

i do appreciate the two of you, your willingness to be vulnerable, + the work you put into the content you give us. it's helped in ways you probably couldn't have even imagined.
THANK Y'ALL SOOOO MUCH!
❤✊🏾,
Smalls
Cole being vulnerable.. ❤️ Thanks for sharing!
You complete each other. Cole you’re so blessed to have met Charisma...and she’s blessed to have met you! ❤️
Great video! You guys are really educating me.
We're all in the same leaky lifeboat and personal goes right out the window - because of our shared experience. Thank you for your honest openness!!
Thank you for doing this series! It’s so informative. I really appreciate how open y’all are with everything. Hugs!
You're sharing so much information and it is so very helpful to others regardless of motor ability. It's priceless information and you shouldn't feel bashful or vulnerable for sharing with us. We're lucky you're being so open. Thank you for that. Side note, you two are just the most charming pair.
Well again a very informative and interesting video. You guys are so patient to take your time to help people understand circumstances.
Blessing to both of you. Charisma you are a wonderful soul may you all love each other forever ❤❤
You guys are incredible teaching very important lessons to everyone. God bless you. Including both parents specially Cole’s mom amazing mother.
Thank you for continuing to be open and informative❣️
Its so amazing how you make things so comprehendable. A lot of the times all these scientific words make it so difficult to understand. I have been on disabilty for more than 10 years. I injured 4 and 5 of my lower back at work. At first it was all about a pulled muscle, but the more aquatic therapy, the excruciating pain was so unbearable
Finally they approved an MRI.
I told him I hadn't been out of the bed, he LEFT the room and it wasn't a pretty site as
that day 2 nurses lost their jobs. I was so upset. I surely didn't want that.
I went home after 5 days,and praise God I using.
You guys give me hope. This is what real love looks like
Charisma, you're beautiful inside and out. Respect and admiration from Hong Kong, China.
@Jean Nieves That too.
Not china

I really like watching your videos and this series about sci is great. Thanks for taking the time to share and educate the public.
I'm an OT and love watching your channel!
