I just installed them on my boat. DIY real easy. Tried them out last weekend. They are great. I have been watching your channel, great channel. I will look you up in the future. Go with the 60" auto stop and ball retrieve. the little stops that comes with Scotty are crap and don't work. Good skills to you. Mr. Q
Awesome. I just had these installed a few weeks ago. These definitely don’t have the finesse of my buddies $2000 Cannon DR’s but they do the trick. I was disappointed that they didn’t have some sort of built in lock down for traveling...I’ll try your trick instead of my mess of bungies...Thanks!
Thanks glad you liked it..They are still very good and reliable downriggers! And also love the way you can use the braid and get rid of the humming while trolling if you want .. I even tie down my downriggers like that.. I just don’t like them shaking around while towing.. thanks for watching and commenting I appreciate it..
Thanks man! I appreciate it! Glad you liked it! Yeah he better get out there and use them soon on these salmon! I’m hoping to go hit the salt this Saturday for them! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Oh great, now I have the back ground music stuck in my head. 30 min of that geez. Lol. Nice little ditty. Thanks though, doing the same shit on my boat. Helpful. As usual, very thorough, and great video.
Great video. I'm about to install my down-riggers in the next day or so and I have a question. My batteries are in the center console. My plan is to run my leads directly from the battery to a negative and positive bus bar to the transom. With an inline 60 amp circuit breaker. Then run the wires from the down riggers to the bus bars. Is this safe to do? Or does each down rigger need its own circuit breaker?
@@ReelLifeFisherman I’ll be watching a lot, I’m picking up my new 20’ sled in about 2 weeks. Just got 2 scotty 1106 and 1 shorty. Got a group 31 agm for the house too.
The first problems I’ve had with my cannons was this weekend the cables snapped on me.. I’m going to check the wire out for kinks and put new ends on.. if it happens again I’m going to replace the cables.. down rigger weights aren’t cheap! lol thanks for watching and commenting..
Thanks I appreciate it! I use a marker called a Dixon reach and you can find them on Amazon.. also another one I use is call a pica it does the same .. Pica 150/46/SB Ink Deep-Hole Marker Black (3 Pack) www.amazon.com/dp/B07KPM27HN/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_K9KCN3401TMVJJEJNMVY
So most all of the targas have a replaceable cartridge type bilge and live well pumps .. making it pretty easy to replace.. you push down on a small black plastic tab and then twist the cartridge out and swap it out with the new one.. let me know if you have any questions.. and if I happen to work on one for a friend I would definitely try to film it.. thanks for watching and commenting..
Beatiful video my frends, my bien explicado acá en chile no llegan esos aparatos no lo conocen los pescadores, para poder comprar uno de esos, hay que encargarlo a EEUU, saludos y gracias.

Hi, could i use my main battery to power my crab pot hauler and just have the engine running while using the hauler? And im also going to change my group size 24 battery to a group size 31. Thanks!
Lol! Yeah I had to stop.. I was more just trying to explain the difference between the two in case someone was researching the two.. thanks for watching
In this set up I connected to the battery switch so it can be used on either battery #1 or #2 but if you only have a crank battery or trolling motor battery then the crank battery is the one you want to use. Don’t hook anything else up to the trolling motor batteries other than a charger.. thanks for watching I appreciate it! Let me know if you have any questions..
Nicely done. Mounted my first ones back in 80’s. Love the plate and thumbscrew mount combo. Swivel mounts and tilt are so versatile.
I can understand why your company engages you to teach new hires very concise instructions and make it look so easy. Great install Jason
Thanks I truly appreciate it! Thanks for watching and the compliments !
That’s why I love Jason working on my boat. He does excellent work and treats it like his own. Keep up the awesome videos.
You are a good teacher. Makes stuff easy to understand, even for a plumber and proces operator like me 👍

Getting there!
Awesome 👏 Job!!! Cool Video!!!!

Love my Scotty downriggers. Had nothing but problems with Cannon.
The Green button is a pulse up button. Push and release so you don't have to turn the dial. Handy when the reef is coming up fast.

@@ReelLifeFisherman It's been so long since I ran a Cannon. Do they still have a center star wheel on the cable drum? Clutch tension type nut.
Another great teaching video as always . Question , where can I get a marker like you use ?. All I have is a Sharpie and they are so darn fat !

You ever use nolox on your electrical connections to prevent corrosion and electrolysis ..
Hope to see how to replace a bilge in a Targa Combo.

Which batteries are you connecting to? The start battery or the trolling motor battery.

If the downriggers have the 60" boom go with the 60" auto stop.
