- I am reviewing American Girl Julie’s Groovy Bathroom Playset that I got from American Girl. This doll toy set includes some amazing accessories like a doll toilet, doll hair dryer and many other new and exciting doll accessories. We love all of the pieces in this playset.

It's a macrame hanger. They were all the rage during the 70s. I remember them hanging with plants all over our home when I was little (I was born in '74). Over here people are getting into making them again. The ever revolving fashions lol.

+Kitty Chan sadly newer dolls are going to have underwear permanently sewn on. It is a shame that the quality of these dolls keeps decreasing, there is a new lady that owns the company (I forget her name) but seriously I could do a better job than her, from an interview I read it seemed like she really doesn't know much or care about the brand.

After playing with it in the store yesterday, I can say that this set is definitely not worth $175! It's the quality of Barbie products from the 1970's and 1980's. My sister had a Barbie bubble bath set that was exactly this quality (she's in her 40's now). I wouldn't want to pay more than $80 for this bathroom. I might go as high as $100, but that's pushing it. Everything was very lightweight plastic by American Girl standards.

Crystal Saling I thought that it would actually cost a lot more. American Girl prices are very high. Considering a whole bathroom set only costs $175, I would say that’s surprising. Of course, I’ve never played with it before, but just by the looks I thought American Girl would make it somewhere between $200-$300. It is very strange though that it’s the quality of Barbie products.
I love Julie new bathroom they put so much detail in to this set I need to get this set its so cute my Julie doll would love this bathroom. :)

Considering the fact that this set is $175, I would have expected at least some of the pieces to be wood. I was gung-ho to buy it before. But now I think I will take more time to decide. I also can't help but feel like OG is going to come out with a toilet that will be much better bang for our buck (as usual). Thank you for the review!

Wowzers! This is sooooo cool! It takes my back to the happy days of my youth in the 70's. I love the coloured soap, and that PINK toilet paper. We had coloured tissues too. I think the powers that be decided that the dye in the coloured TP and tissues wasn't very healthy so it was discontinued. I remember the potted hanging plants too, although we never had any in our house. Our bathroom was a groovy lavender! Our toilet was tan, but the first house I bought when I was married had a PINK toilet and sink and bathtub. I loved it. Even the faucet is authentic. Thanks so much for showing this in such fine detail. I enjoyed it immensely.

I will go CRAZY over accessories for dolls. I’m looking for some accessories for my 8” Diego plush doll. I’m worried that Barbie accessories will be too small for him and the Our Generation or American Girl accessories will be too large… but these are absolutely adorable. I love the towels and the plant hangers and the hair dryer. And the labels on these are cute as well and so detailed. I guess if I can’t find accessories that are the right size I can go for making some myself. I’ve thought of making a snack packet(Geo’s Shape Crackers), a headset(NickTronics), a thing of shampoo or some other hair product(Slime shampoo) and an old-fashioned hair dryer(nPower) to go with my Diego. This is just TOOOOOO CUTE 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

My sink drawers couldn't close and open correctly and my hamper lid popped off every time you opened it. I'm returning it😭😢😭😢
+Videos with Vivien oh no! That's a bummer about the drawers. As for the hamper lid, that's the way the new AG hinges are. It's not just the hamper. I noticed it with Gabriela's case, laptop, and several new pieces. My thought is they did this so if it's bent back far enough it pops off instead of breaking.

I have to ask, we are tossing around the idea of her bathroom and it's hard because of the price tag. Can you tell me if the bottom orange piece can come off or look like it can be removed? We want to put the whole piece on the shelf of the dollhouse to be our bathroom and want to reinforce the walls from behind. taking that orange piece out may make it so that we can flatten it out to two straight walls instead of the shape it normally is while open. Thoughts? Thanks in advance!

i got this set for christmas and my tissue box also came with a seam in the front so I'm guessing its supposed to imitate cardboard cracks so i think all of them come with cracks

Hi I was wondering if you can make zip lock bags for American girl dolls
You could swap out the toothpaste with a real travel one. Same with the soaps and shampoo. Love the detail and love that you changed the roll direction. Lol. Surprised that there is no shower drain.
One thing I argue is why would you have your towel In the shower? Odd design feature.

American Girl Ideas--I fully agree. Considering the bathroom sells for $175, cardboard is unacceptable. Mattel should also manufacture this without being "Julie" specific. It will be interesting to see if Our Generation puts out anything similar in the near future.
