I've worked with Chinese manufacturers for years, and experienced the same thing when I visited the southern industrial area of Guangzou China. Sure, there are plenty of sketchy factories, but the government is very strict with larger manufacturers. Remember that since China has a stereotype of making cheap products, the government puts a lot of pressure on companies to change this perception. The strictness of the workplaces there is a cultural thing, where they view a workplace as just that, and only that. They leave fun and comradery at the door, and even then it is held to a level of honor and respect.
I wanna to know the truth of why Fitment Industries went to China to visit a wheel factory? Was it for scoping out a manufacturer for a new line of Fitment Industry branded wheels? For skipping the middle man to go directly to the source to get us the best wheels? Or just for video content (or both).
This guy is on to something!!!! They probably r cutting out the middle man. Y make ur own brand it’s a lil to much of a competition field. More ppl buy second hand rims or get super cheap reps 1% buys real wheels 😂
Unpopular opinion: I love when you guys advertise what kind of products you guys carry. Could you guys make a playlist of videos on How to install the products we sell to make it work best and safest?? I’d love that so I could do it properly.
I would love to see torture test videos of knock off and name brand wheels. Or at least some info about more popular knock off brands. Just cause why not be educated.
OT, but what do yall think about Proxes 1 on a light car (1800lbs curb)? I need 185/70R15, 195/65R15, or 205/65R15 performance tires and all I can seem to find are Proxes 1s and P6000s, and I cant find nearly any info on either ones other than that they are older designs.
The truth is most of people's fav brands wheels are manufactured in China/out of country and rebranded here. Edit: Nevermind, my man said the same thing in the video
Thank you Fitment Industries for going out learning knew things and coming to explain and help those that sub a little more about the outside world 🌎🤟🏽 Thank you fuller🏎
Im all for buying american made products if possible but if the quality is there and the price is way cheaper for chinese then i think its a good marketing piece to help get american companies to have more competitive products.
So China is Cali from the 90s all over again 😂rough man. I have never really been worried if the wheels were made in China. With how many reveiwers that are out there now, it's hard to buy a shitty wheel and not find a reveiw online telling you so. IDGAF if I put japo wheels on my Pontiac...shit long as it looks good, they perform and they don't break when I smoke a pothole in northern Wisconsin and can hold up on heaved Wisconsin roads...I'll buy that shit 😂another great vid... awesome you guys went out there...really cool and very good info and...asuring...appreciate it
Its really a roulette with chinese wheels. You can get a really quality wheels or really bad ones. Its hit or miss, same with tyre brands from china. So i'm all in on this roulette if i'm on a budget, the chance you get really bad wheels is small, except if you don't buy really really cheap brand that makes their stuff in a dark and dirty garage.
Now you know a lot of your proud brands which sound like "NOT CHINA" are made in China. Enjoy the fact. PS: this wheel factory looks small. more like a town factory, there are some huge factories which build nearly all the OE wheels, they care more about the safety and have better quality. Can't comment about your experience of food and air quality, it depends on which city you have been.
Quality def does matter to me, however as a person who is building my car on a budget (3000 for everything), buying rep wheels seems justified. Especially considering the overall cost of my car was only 5000.
So two things, I have that OutKast song stuck in my head now... and I MUST know, what brands you saw on the wheels in that factory.... I really really really want to know, please, Alex... please. I’ve watched every video you guys have made in almost two years, and I need this knowledge.... I can keep a secret, really... I need to know🤔 Love u guys, ... now tell me!!

I watch most of your content. First time I seen this old one. I am not sure where you went (you did not say), but I am guessing Wuhan (by the look of things), which had the most construction by value for multiple years (at least pre-COVID), and the smog is actually dust, as especially their building of underground rail does not have stringent dust prevention requirements. I am an Australia mechanical engineer who lives and works in Singapore, with need to often attend factory testing in China for equipment I design/select. Being from Singapore, my Chinese (Mandarin) is basic but okay for a foreigner. It is enough to get by in China. If you are doing more business in China, you do not need great Chinese, but try to pick up more and more. And do not expect good food in a factory area, or the catering-to-westerner food from hotels - you need to go to local places in decent areas for good food. Nothing that you do not know already. Best wishes to Alex and Fitment.
I mean I WOULD buy local wheels but this a tiny country ain't nobody got money to waste on a tiny market of wheels Chinese production isn't as horrible as the rep it gets (look at the new Volvos) but support your homeboys if it's feasible dammit
Lol my ROTAs are garbage. I’ve bent 2 of them and had to get them fixed. (1 medium pothole, and 1 curb). But they are also cheap enough to no be that but hurt. So I guess it’s a good budget buy
I will say that just because certain wheel brands are made in the same Factory they can have completely different quality control standards and specifications for material so just because two brands are made in the same Factory and have drastically different prices does not mean they're the same quality the company can specify higher quality material and process
That’s very true my friend not alot of ppl know this. I used to work for an oil and gas manufacturing company for 8 yrs. TUV and Halliburton has way more requirements for their metal processing than other companies like NOV
Alex can you sing man, cuz it seems like you can carry a note, oh an by the way , I heard someone say that China only sends the poor quality stuff to America and they keep the good stuff SMH
You sure those are name brand wheels? They do manufacture alot of fake name brand wheels in china, just like everything else in china, you can also buy replica wheels with the logo stamped on them.
