I met how do you know how much food item and temperature to each recipe's I am just starting to learn how to cook and so I need information to make each recipe.
I have been baking homemade bread for about 20 years and there is just nothing like it. The creation, the transformation, the smell, taste, it’s just the best!
Oh my gosh those soups looked delicious. For your second soup, if you are able to get it, a little yeast extract like marmite or Vegemite gives such umami to a simple none tomato based soup. White miso does as well. I think I must be weird, I LOVE tomatoes, we grow our own and have at least 4 different varieties and 12-15 plants…and we still have to buy more because as I wander around the garden, I am happily munching the tomatoes. There is nothing better than a fresh picked ripe tomatoes still warm from the sun! 🥰 however, I am not a fan of cooked tomatoes. And just have to say, as a woman old enough to be your mother, with or without make up, wet freshly washed hair or dried and styled, glasses or not, you are a beautiful young lady. You are beautiful on the outside regardless of the things mentioned first, but also your inner beauty just shines through and makes you even more beautiful! So while I know it makes you feel vulnerable not being made up and just being your basic self fresh faced self, you really have no reason to worry. Anyone that tries to pull you down is simply an unhappy, mean spirited and jealous person and they are projecting their feelings about themselves on to you trying to pull you down. So please know that no matter what you are wearing, make up, glasses, hair wet or styled, etc your beauty of you shines through. I spent much of my life worrying about what I looked like, what others opinions of me were, etc and being so hurt at snide comments, and I was my worst critic because of it, trying to put myself down before anyone else could do it but when I began losing a number of friends to cancer, heart attacks, suicide, etc, I hit my 50’s and began menopause, I realised my life was more than half over…and I began thinking of all the things I had missed out on for fear of being judged by others. I decided then and there that I would feel the vulnerability and do what I wanted anyway and if anyone had the audacity to think they had the right to try and pull me down, they were going to be in for a rude awakening. It only took a couple of clap backs and folks got the picture. I regret not having made these changes many years ago, so I make a point of reaching out to young ladies who worry about being vulnerable…girl, do you, be you, and be happy. Do not let anyone discourage you and enjoy life as it comes…please don’t hit your 50’s or beyond and regret the time wasted as no matter how long we have in this world, life is too short. Be happy and do things that make you happy! Thank you for all the great recipes and the inspiration. They are just what I needed to get out of the dinner rut. And thanks for the giggle of your hubby snagging your lunch…that is what mine does too😂 thanks again! 💚 Love and blessings from an American living in Scotland.
I believe sharing our vulnerabilities is an important piece of making this world a better, safer place for everyone, thank you so much for putting yourself out there and being willing to take that risk. I love your unadorned morning glow! Are there any veggie scraps you avoid for broth? Mine has been coming out bitter lately.
You can get a Ninja Foodie which you can air fry, pressure cooker, crockpot and other options all in one. It's a good one. That first soup looked yummy. Good meal ideas.
Thanks so much for your real life plant based meals 50% of our home does not eat meat. I’m teaching my autistic adult son to cook and explore new recipes. Any recipe with few Ingredients and steps would be a great idea. My daughter and I are going to make the ones you already posted
This video is totally my vibe. I always tell my husband that I want to move to New England and open an affordable used bookstore / cafe with homemade bread and soups (vegan of course)! Maybe one day :) Cheers from your friend in Austin!
Also I'm in wet hair, a tie dyed t-shirt, sweats, and crocs while I'm doing my kitchen chores... so I appreciate your real look :) This is probably a #winerant, but the internet could use so much more real life and so much less glam.

Love these videos! I learned how to cook by watching my mama just throw all the ingredients together, and a wonderful meal made with love was produced. She learned from my Oma (her mama) back in Germany post WWII. I'm so grateful I learned how to cook from her as she used EVERYTHING up. Almost zero waste, so I really appreciate how you use everything up as well! :) Would love some instant pot recipes! Thanks for everything you do with your videos!
omg, I made the lentil soup... followed your directions and also tossed in freezer/fridge veggies left over with the potatoes and white beans... so good! Thanks for continuing your inspiration for us!!
Great video 👏 It was especially nice to have you print out the recipe. I save these recipe in the saved file. It’s wonderful to see it in large print. I’m 72 and my vision is starting to fail. But love you and your husband.🌹
You are such a joy to watch. I use my crockpot 2-3 times a week if not more year around. I like to make a lot and freeze leftovers for another day I get too busy. Cutting onions or stubbing your toe!? Hmmm....I dont like either. Lol. The onions lately have really been burning my eyes and messing with my sinuses when I dice them. When my tomatoes are going bad and I am. Ot cooking anything that I can put them in, I dice them and freeze them for soups, sauces, etc. Frozen veggies are a staple in my home besides salads. Whenever I buy fresh, life happens and I dont have the time to clean and chop them. I try to when I get home from the store but it just usually does not fair well.
Thank you so much Yvette that’s so nice of you! Maybe I’ll try throwing my tomatoes in the freezer! I usually buy a lot and than depending sometimes they get so soft way too quick! And onions have been the same here usually if I throw them in the fridge or even the freezer for a bit they’re okay but lately it’s been brutal to chop them!
I really enjoy watching you and seeing the soups you are making. It gives me options for when I want to make soups or chili. I usually make them in the winter time.
I would love to see slow cooker recipes that can cook for a normal work day. If I can put something in around 7am and then it can be done around 3-4pm and stay warm for 1-2 hours it would be super convenient. In the past when I ate meat it wasn’t an issue to cook meat for that long. But slow cooker recipes for plant-based meals are so much harder because all the recipes are for up to 4 or 5 hours. I can’t think of anything where stuff wouldn’t become mushy after 8+ hours. My son has to start eating dinner within 15 min of us getting home in order to be ready for bed on time. I’ve been meal prepping on the weekends, but it would be nice to have something cooked that day for dinner occasionally during the week! Or if we run out of leftovers earlier than expected to be able to prep ingredients the night before to put in the slow cooker in the morning. I don’t like food waste but also my sons appetite increases sometimes (and sometimes for a short period of time) so it’s hard to plan exact amounts for the week. Great video btw!
I wonder if the slow cooker setting on an instant pot would be more helpful for you. I believe you can program it to slow cook for a few hours and then switch onto the keep warm function.
@@papercracker4176 thank you-yes the instant pot slow cooker, even on high doesn’t get super hot. My slow cooker I specifically got because it reaches boiling point so it’s safe for me to cook beans from dried. I have measured it with a thermometer to make sure it’s actually at boiling point. The issue is if it cooks on high for too long the beans get mushy. Which is ok if I’m making hummus or chickpea cookie dough or something. But I do have an 8qt instant pot and I will try to make some sort of veggie soup and maybe just add in cooked beans at the end!
My Grandma was an amazing cook also who just cooked by sight. She called it “by guess, by golly” ha. But baking cakes etc she was precise. Thanks for the recipe
You're so right now that I think of it - almost all the soups I make or enjoy have tomatoes! Is there a vegan version of chicken and dumplings? A FAVE! Maybe with veggie broth and thickened with flour or corn starch with home made dumplings. Would be super easy and yummy! Add some veg and chefs kiss!
I started saving my veggie scraps a fews days because of you and plan to make broth soon. Thanks so much for sharing! BTW... I never go in the kitchen (to cook) camera ready 😁
I bulk wash all my veggies when I come home from the store! If you go back a few videos, you’ll see a video titled “get it all done” and I share how I wash them! But it’s just soaking in cold water and vinegar for about 30 minutes and than I’ll scrub the root veggies if I need to!
Hello I'm new:) thank you for these videos! Is your husband WFPB too? Just curious how you guys make it work if he's not. As far as making meals I mean :)
A long time ago I didn’t have any tomatoes or tomato paste, so I add ketchup and didn’t tell anyone. Lol That soup was sooooo good. Everyone was bragging on how good it was. 😂 We use what we have… right?
I often substitute ketchup. No one guessed and I love the concentrated taste. I really watch my budget with rising prices these days so I use what I have 😊
Hi miranda. I am a 💯soup gal so I am surely going to try them this winter 😋. But i was just curious. When you cooked your broth how many cups does the 10 cups of water reduce to by the time you are done?
I’m definitely going to try your bread because I have self-rising flour that I forgot what I bought it for 🤣 I’ll cook mine a bit longer though ❤️😁 Also for the scraps for broth do you buy organic? Does it matter if I wash them? BTW you are beautiful with or without makeup 😊
Cooked tomatoes give me heart burn, but not fresh. So when I make us pasta, I often make mine with pesto and my husband’s with reg pasta sauce. The only thing that helps with heart burn, if I’m having the red sauce, is adding a little fat, not ideal lol So with all this said, I appreciate options to not add tomatoes! But I do eat a ton fresh.
I love freezer broth! So glad I started making it again. And fresh bread is bomb. We’re having a huge salad Friday and I’m making some bread to go with.
