This is a review of KFC EAVI METAL Transistor & Hifi an homage to Transformers Generation 1 Blaster & Rewind. where we take a look at the figure, accssories, Transform from bot to boom box/ tape to bot, and talk about stress relief, and matching colors.

you aren't kidding about him being a panel master. The overall design and details are cool. I think the G1 Blaster transformation was fun, and I think KFC figure misses that nostalgia.

Great review. I am a huge fan of the cassettes and the players. I have all of the G1 figures minus the parts for blaster and soundwave. I am hoping to get this figure one day, but finances are not where I want them. I did order the Apollyon. I can't wait to get that. It will be my first third party figure. The skits are awesome. Probably my favorite part of you reviews. Makes me want a beer.

I got so used to the black frame that its a near seamless transition to filling the window lol. Also I meant to say on Joker that the new intro is pretty slick.
This guys practically got Popeye forearms... he's using both hands if you know what I mean.

I don't even like the Blaster character yet that is an awesome toy! Awesome! Like you I'm totally shocked, I didn't expect KFC to produce him well at all. That "Rewind is horrible on a QC level, I'm definitely going to get the set but I'll probably dispose of Rewind😟. Also your shows great, the best thing about it is that your impartial. Stay honest bro, it's definitely working for you.

I get that KFC has done some bad TF but they are actually doing very good ones recently and I believe they are becoming one of the best Third Party companies. It seems every time you review one of the KFC TF you're set out to hate them and some times we can notice that you have a hard time hating them because they are good. It's a company that has been evolving in a steady straightforward way, you're entitled to hate which ever company you want but maybe you should try to give KFC and the fully articulated hands a break. Recently the KFC articulation and overall engineering is better, the materials are also better, there is no paint chipping and the sculpt is great so I believe that in time they will be on par with Fans Toys, there are actually a lot of similarities between this two companies. I believe you to be the best TF reviewer (you're actually the only TF reviewer I follow), I also have some companies/lines that I used to hate, like Hasbro Marvel Legends, but I recently noticed that they were actually doing very good figures so I ended up buying 53 ML during the recent 5 months and I'm very happy with my new found love for ML figures (specially the X teams) please try to give this company a second chance and I believe you will actually start liking KFC TF. Beside being a TF fan for ages and having lots of original G1 TF figures, I only started collecting third party TF recently, so I had no prejudice for any company and chose my TF freely, I ended up drifting over to two companies, Fans Toys and KFC and I think they are both very good companies. Thank you for all your reviews, every thing I know about TF third party companies I learned from you.
Thanks for the review. I have to wait for Apollyon to come out to get this guy. With the paint issues I may have waited for a second run in hopes they fix the issues but I'm still looking forward to him. I like the clever fold away panels puts me in mind of the second Vehicon from the Prime line, though it does give him Popeye forearms.

I have him, but I haven't transformed him yet. The tabby tabby stuff reminds me of the tetra jets (which I think are okay too).
I'm a G1 cartoon guy, but for some weird reason, I prefer the comic head. He was cool in the cartoon, but in the comic, he was a badass freedom fighter.
Also blown away by the tape (even though the paint wasn't dry). Felt very close to Takara in transformation.

Great review. One thing I wanted to throw out, I purchased the red plastic version & the first time transforming him the silver piece of plastic on his foot that the radio handle attaches to broke. Not at the pin but the actual plastic snapped in half. So I'm trying to get it sent back but just wanted to say to everyone use caution on those pieces.

maybe in your future review you can give rating to these figures; like "solid unit" for an A , and "ollie unit" for E, etc...

I'm a hands guy. Prowl and brothers, sideswipe and Red, Optimus... they all got the hands treatment. Yes, it means the guns fall out more than I would like. Yes, it means a pose isn't finished until you get another 20 joints looking right, but I am one of those wet dream weirdos. Good review Mr. Skullface. And did you go for the pure red version after this?
Hey man, like I always say, if you like it, you win. No I passed on the flat red. Nice that the paint doesn't chip but also looks generally less impressive
They couldn't do it like the G1 toy version. With articulation. This transformation is crazy. I'm thinking on getting the unpainted version. Hope those paint chips aren't toxic.

While not perfect by any means, I like this guy. KFC has made leaps and bounds since Boxbomber. I'd say they might be the fastest up and coming TP company and possibly if they work on a few little things would be up there with the big boys maybe not too far into the future. With Citizen Stack, Sencho, and this guy they have done a complete turnaround in my eyes. KFC isn't all about shitty tapes anymore LOL.
I'd have to agree that this is a huge improvement from their standard issues units.

Still waiting on my copy to arrive in the mail; i almost wrote transistor off as a pass, but i got him from dubk toys with a free rhinohorn figure with free shipping, plus he's staying exclusively in robot mode, so the paint won't be an issue.

Just ordered second run of this in "pure red" (along with six other bots!) from our boy Manolo. Hope they straitened out the paint on the second run.

This is the opposite of the g1 blaster in that he transforms into a larger alt mode than he looks like he should, opposite of the cartoon lol I love that red paint

Is it all plastic or is some of it die-cast metal. I don't know what eavi means but the fact that metal is in the name leads one to believe there is some metal in the construction other than screws. I would really like to know what it is made of.
Hahahahaha...you called their "repaint" re-release in all red plastic. I think they did that because on this version the hip skirts didn't fold up and they seem to have updated that issue on their Doubledeck / MP Twincast, so I think they needed to get another use out of the mold by releasing that version. I loved the fact that they included a 2nd head, but then made it a joke when they didn't paint the back of the head to match the cassette design....I would say that this is one of their best releases......still.
how does it hold up in 2020? still worthy of being "the" mp blaster to have on the mp shelf?
I think so. Have had him for years and just put the Toyhax labels on him today. He looks amazing. Best Blaster out there right now. KFC Toys has the best Blaster and Wreck Gar imo.

I wanna get third party figures but im afraid they might contain lead paint or other health hazards. What should i do?
Most have very minimal paint applications anyway. Transformers as a brand and concept usually don't have much paint. I'm not sure if there's enough there to have legitimate concerns or not. Just try not to eat them;)

That Transformation looks hella annoying with all them flaps and shit lol. Not really in the market for a Blaster but gr8 review as always Bobby. I've heard the G1 Blaster scales wit Mp10 perfectly.
Yeah the panels and tabs are annoying as the day is long. But if you can get past that he's a pretty enjoyable figured.

You really should at least try out the Soundwave hands. They are pretty nice, and surprisingly stay together better than the stock hands, at least on mine.
I hear you man, I just can't get past the aesthetics.
To each their own. Honestly, the main reason I installed them was the index finger on the stock hands kept falling off.
Yea you know a buddy of mine has the Takara one (the same one I have) and often has that issue too. Mine has never had that problem. Which is crazy because I'm a bad luck kinda guy. But I guess even a broken clock is right twice a day lol

improved, materials wise it's "fine" not amazing but definitely good enough.
I would spray that cassette with some Flat Clear Coat to seal that paint from coming off.

The figure is fine, why complain so much. it doesn't even look like a panel former and the transformation is appropriate . YEEESSHH!!
Pointing out issues and complaining are different things, Mac. I said I liked the figure, and was surprised at its level of quality given the patchy history of the company. I it has massive panels that fold up and fold out to efficiently transform the bot. To me... That makes it a panel former. But I still said it was a smart panel former and not your average. I point out issues because many don't. And I; like most, work hard for that high end collectible money. Thanks for watching
