Boeing B777 200ER engine oil service on GE90-94B

Hello everyone, in this video I am doing an engine oil sevrive on a B777-200ER with the GE90-94. These engines like to use some oil en for ETOPS the engines needs to be topped up to full. The oil companies make good business with this one. Enjoy the walk.

Haven't seen a can of oil have to open like that in years. When I was 16 I worked at a gas station we had oil cans still like that had use a opener cut the top open around 1984-85.

The oil for aircraft only comes in metal cans or drums. Never have seen them in any plastic containers.

It’s not an oil change it’s a - top up I used to see this on the ramp .😂
1) you need a steady hand
2) you do not spill it all over the inside
Of the engine he has not even cleaned it with a cloth .

Hi, biggest difference is the fan, this one is larger on the 115B, also the blades on the -94B are straight on the -115B are curved. The arrangement of the compressor is a little better different. -94B 3LP10HP stages, -115B 4LP9HP stages. These are the biggest once.

How much oil do these things use?

Hi there, max is 0.66 QTS per hour for the GE90-94B. Normal is about 4 Qts for this flight of about 9 to 10 of hours, that come to approximately 0.44 QTS per hour

How often oil change is done on these? And also do you drain the old oil?

Hello, it’s no need to change the oil in a jet engine, oil is just topped up and oil filters are changed on time.

Hi, there is a limit on how much oil an engine can use per hour. For the GE90-94B it’s 0.66 qts per hour. If the engine goes over that you need to find out why it’s using that much oil.
Although these engines tend to use a lot of oil the normal oil consumption is around 0.5 qts per hour.
