I started playing guitar as a little kid in the mid 1970s. Van Halen's eponymous first album created a cataclysmic shift my musical orbit when I first heard it in '80. I spent years in my room, after school, after work, etc, playing VH records by ear. Just wanted to say that as someone who's been a fan of EVH, or "King Edward", as I called him & wrote under his name on the portraits of him I drew on my t-shirts in high school and art school (the reason Vai called him King Edward in the RS interview right after EVH passed: we had just been emailing each other and I sent him a photo of one of my King Edward portraits...)... I have to say that your statement is bold! IMHO... It's also 100,000% true!! I 😅 ❤❤❤ WOLFIE is an extremely talented "kid" in his own right. And what a kind person, just like his dad. 🎵🎶💯🎵🎶

Tears are running down my face, if there is such a thing as heaven, EVH has that Cheshire Cat grin on his face. You’ve done so well WWVH!!! We love you and carry on!!
If you didn't know who Wolfie was before . The whole damn world knows now. This kid might quite possibly be in time as great if not better than his Dad. Eddie once said you think I'm good you oughta hear my kid . His solo album is phenomenal . And it's not that he can't play Van Halen tunes he just doesn't want to ride coat tails. He's an amazing kid . His dad and uncles talent and his mom's kindness and heart

The thing about WVH's performance that impressed me the most wasn't that he played this classic tune absolutely flawlessly or that he had an incredible tone....instead, the thing that impressed me the most is that he was able to stay in tune while playing that tune without a locking trem. When I play something that 'wiggly', I use my only guitar with a floyd on. I don't even have the bar on it..I just use the floyd for tuning stability on squiggly or lead-heavy songs.
