    I'm really not surprised by this slow development, especially for Morgan. It's not just the fact that he doesn't have many snaps. Let's not forget that they're also asking him to learn all four line positions that aren't the center. That's a gargantuan ask for a rookie to do in mandatory minicamp.
    I love D-Bak and his comments to the media pundits. He was just spot on.
    Give Morgan time, and they will figure out where he fits best. He's got time to develop, and when he does... whooooooooeeeeeeee.

    Jordan Morgan having played exclusively at left tackle during his time in college, Jordan Morgan is now-cross training at 4 positions while the Packers figure out the best spot for him. However, Jordan Morgan has found the adjustment challenging and still has a long way to go. If the 2024-25 NFL season began today, Green Bay’s 1st-round draft pick likely wouldn’t be in the starting lineup. There is no doubting Jordan Morgan’s athleticism and pass-blocking ability, but there’s a lot to learn at the NFL level. Beyond the physical part of the game, it’s important to learn the scheme and develop the other important skills. Jordan Morgan faced some challenges during mandatory minicamp, including a bad rep against former undrafted rookie Arron Mosby. Clearly, there’s still a lot of work to do. Jordan Morgan has a lot to prove before earning a spot in the Packers starting 5. He will continue to play at multiple positions to get valuable reps. Jordan Morgan spent time at right guard, which is not only a position change, but a shift to the other side of the line. That will take time to get used to. And that’s expected. It’s true. Matt Lafluer isn’t being overly harsh, but just pointing out where Jordan Morgan needs to improve. That will come with more experience, beginning at training camp. Green Bay doesn’t need Jordan Morgan to start tackle from Day 1, and his best position could end up being at guard. They have the luxury of giving him the time he needs to develop, build consistency, and eventually earn a starting job. There will be ups and downs. The Packers are excited about Jordan Morgan’s future, but there’s still a lot of work to do. Go Pack Go 💚💛

      Redshirt another 1st round pick? You can admit it, Morgan was a terrible choice. Gute is okay but he misses on far too many premium picks. Alexander was his best but that guy is a head case who stopped caring after he got his money. He’s the top paid corner but he’s not even top 5 anymore. GB sucks

    Don't forget the adjustment to rookies have to make "at the next level". Brian Bosworth (noted NFL bust) once said, when asked about his mediocre play: "In college ball there's only a handful of guys that play at my level, Here, EVERYBODY plays at that level." Some navigate that reality better than others, some never do. Morgan should come along, he ain't no 'roid boy Mandarich, they are asking alot of him. They are asking a lot of him. If he's able to step up we'll really have something. I can be patient on this for a bit... GO PACK GO!

    Luke love your videos always. However, Morgan I think will be sat this season because Green Bay drafts and develops. The drafted Jordan Love in the first round and he sat for three years. I think that Jordan Morgan will be a backup that gets rotated in but won't be starting and personally starting him now giving him all those snaps are a good move because young players need time to pick things up. Making him a backup that rotates in and out to keep fresh legs on the field I think is what he is best suited for at the moment because he has been here for like three seconds.

      @@JefferyT1991 Morgan wasn't a horrible pick and we haven't seen how good or bad he may be yet because the regular season hasn't started yet. All we know so far is that he hasn't adjusted yet to playing in the NFL and that takes time. He won't be a backup forever and he doesn't have to start right away. We still have Elgton Jenkins, Zach Tom (after he is healed), Shean Rhyan, Rasheed Walker and the center position remains the same. Without Jordan Morgan we have one the best offensive lines in the league at least to me.

    I can’t forget the last time they drafted a tackle with awesome physical ability in the first round. Offensive Tackle Tony Mandarich (1989). And they’d passed on Barry Sanders and Deon Sanders to get him at #2. Ouch!

    He was a reach at best in the 1st round no matter how he pans out. I mean, Rasheed Walker was already proven at left tackle & they had no need to grab him in round 1. We are not good in the 1st round of the draft for some reason but we are great from 2nd round on.... just think if we start learning who to draft in the 1st round...

    • @Matt-yq3gq
      @Matt-yq3gq 3 місяці тому

      Rasheed isn’t proven. Like the rest of the entire offense basically, they/he were good for half a year give or take. Not to mention the OL had poor depth, lost 3 guys in bahk, runyan, yosh, with Meyers probably gone next offseason. Tom maybe isn’t 100 percent after tearing his pec. OL was a big need, and as long as Morgan hits as a starter sooner than later, and especially a good starter sooner than later, than it’s a good pick rather than a reach at best.

    Hey (most people below and Luke), STOP making excuses for Morgan struggling. He's a 1st round pick , there is a lot of high expectations from the team and the fans, and he should have high expectations and train accordingly. Not every position in the NFL is considered a "draft and develop position". Many positions including: Receivers, RB, OL, T.E., DL,DB, LB and Kicker/Punter are positions where rookie draft picks often play right away. That leaves only ONE position (QB) where teams should , if they don't, give a chance for a player to progress at a slower rate.If MLF is concerned about Morgan's progress, he's basically saying , he needs to pick it up mentally and physically because we expect him to compete for a job.
