Are the Green Bay Packers actually going to make changes to the offensive line? It's not so simple

  • We spent a lot of offseason time talking about potential changes to the offensive line, then the Packers went out and drafted a first-round offensive tackle. But to hear the coaches tell it, they seem to ascribe to the "If it ain't broke, don't fix it," mantra. Plus, why Josh Jacobs can level up in Green Bay.

    I am SO AGAINST moving Tom inside when he’s a TOP TACKLE in the NFL…. Don’t move the studs on our line anywhere…. You drafted linemen for a reason… to plug holes… not push proven pro bowlers into different positions for the rookies….

      At this point the draft pick isn't relevant. He is clearly worth the amount of guaranteed money that they signed him to($0). It's smart to have him on this roster he's a great floor for rb3 and if Wilson outplays him in camp they could let him walk or put him on the p squad

    Even if Jordan Morgan is better, I can't see much of scenario where he is a huge upgrade then what R. Walker was playing at the end of the season...If tackle is so important why are ppl trying to move Zach Tom to center, where center is a ton less valuable? Having Rasheed Walker be a swing tackle is a waste, if you have Sean Rhyan playing guard, Rhyan and Myers had the worst grades.

    • @Lermdogg101
      @Lermdogg101 4 місяці тому

      This is why I didn’t like the pick. How much better can you get than Walker? Walker is only a year older than Morgan and already showed you he can play at a high level in the NFL. We have a giant hole at center and guard and our second best offensive lineman is fighting for his job with a rookie? Sounds like a super conservative front office more concerned with stability than the balls to make aggressive moves to put over the top and win a Super Bowl.

      @justinrebarchek3620 I like what I'm hearing about Lloyd as well, and his game tape is incredible. He's still young and he has a lot to learn where jones doesn't. I look at it as they wanted aj dillon as an alot cheap priced backup over jones. IMO is a bad idea when you're trying to win championships and make every position on the team as great as possible.

    I forgot there is one more thing I want to say about our draft we took a Center/ guard and then Matt how to duke are we all know Duke is such a huge powerhouse football team, right not but right out of their own backyard. You got Tanner borderlining we Could Play Center, Oak and play guard who went to the Indianapolis Colts I believe in a third round why does the Green Bay Packers continue not to draft players from Wisconsin? I don’t get it, I loved it been a fly on the wall with JJ Watt came out of Wisconsin why didn’t they take TJ White? I can see why they didn’t take the other brother the full back because we had a guy on our club and coaches, a good fallback out of that powerhouse football team shipping berg but why does the Packers constantly bomb their nose at Wisconsin badger players I don’t get it

    The thing I don’t understand about the Packers in the last couple of GM’s from Gordie and then Ted Thompson in the past if you need a left tackle then draft a lap tackle I don’t care if he can play guard or center or right tackle if your quarterback is right handed, then go after a true left tackle and be done with it the door the first round pick this year. I scratch my head at that one. We think he might be able to play left tackle but we don’t really know but we are fairly certain he can play guard this team doesn’t draft first round guards, the last one they did was Nelson I don’t Notre Dame and how did that work out his first year he broke one leg is secondary broke the other like any find a rat came around and and and played really well and won a Super Bowl Ring to draft a maybe left tackle in the first round. I’ll make a lot of sense to me if you really need a life tackle then go and get a left tackle and just leave them alone. I like the rest of the draft picks up the first pic, that’s kind of a head scratcher.

    • @Whiskey61
      @Whiskey61 4 місяці тому

      Quality left tackles go way earlier than the Packers are normally drafting. 4 were taken before pick 15 this year. By the time the Packers were on the clock at 25, 6 had been taken. Also, the Packer list him as a tackle and have said he is going to play tackle. So it seems to me they did draft a left tackle.

    The Green Bay Packers are starting out their 1st-round 2024 NFL draft pick Jordan Morgan at left tackle, the position he played extensively in college, but our offensive coordinator Adam Stenavich isn’t in a rush to commit to a position for the rookie. The Green Bay Packers believe Jordan Morgan has 4 position potential, meaning he could play tackle or guard on either side of the line. It’s a projection, but the Packers have a long history of cross-training offensive linemen at multiple positions and turning collegiate left tackle into dominant players elsewhere along the line. Jordan Morgan got his start at left tackle during rookie minicamp. That could change when the full 90-man roster comes together later in the offseason and into training camp. Rasheed Walker returns after a strong second half of the 2023-24 season, and the Packers need at right guard might be far greater than the one at left tackle. But if Jordan Morgan’s best position is left tackle, it could be difficult for the Packers to move the 1st-round 2024 NFL draft pick from a premium spot. Jordan Morgan played every snap- all of 2,153 of them at left tackle over the last 3 seasons at Arizona. But many draft evaluators saw potential in Jordan Morgan moving inside to guard; Dane Brugler of the Athletic rated him as his 2nd-best guard in the 2024 NFL draft class. Shorter arms and a lack of ideal length represented at least 1 season why evaluators predicted a move inside, but neither Jordan Morgan nor the Packers are that concerned about his length at tackle considering his movement ability and overall athleticism. As always, the Green Bay Packers will attempt to configure the “best 5” offensive lineman. It’s possible the offensive line will be Rasheed Walker, Elgton Jenkins, Josh Meyers, Jordan Morgan, and Zach Tom from left to right. Or maybe Jordan Morgan wins the job on the left side, Rasheed Walker moves to the right side, and Zach Tom moves inside to guard or center. Increasing the number of possible combinations is exactly what the Green Bay Packers want, as many ways to create a good offensive line as possible. Go Pack Go 💚💚💛💛

      I couldn't disagree more. Wicks, Reed and Kraft are special they did more as rookies than D. Adams, Jordy or Finley. They were also playing behind special talents like Watson, Doubs and Musgrave. The best part is if we do lose Watson or Musgrave again, we have a very good option in their absence. These guys are all special in their own way. Just because none of them may get 1000 yards doesn't mean they are average. There's only so many touches in a game and season. Josh Jacobs has lead the league in rushing, that's not average. Love is not average, he's a viable MVP candidate going into the season. Look at the Vegas odds.
