I love this scene because it's so emotionally powerful with Storm. She sees her father figure, the first person to ever care for her attacked by the most powerful mutant on the planet; knowing she cannot win she still tries, and attacks Apocalypse! AH! The way she yelled at him! SO GOOD!
The exchange from 0:00 to 0:30 is impeccable writing and characterizes them perfectly. “Since when has mankind known what it needs?” That line totally flew over my head as a kid. Great seeing old cartoons like these as an adult
I fucking cry on this one when I saw , the way she says: LEAVE HIM ALONE , damn I feel her sorrow and how she is giving all she had to protect professor X .
This version of Apocalypse I absolutely loved, Evolution was a good series. I would still take 90s over, though. But I loved both so much, and 90s is only a slight edge, for me.

@@andrewvincent7299 Nostalgia speaking. He was lame in 90s. He was the first mutant but he just looked like a weird robot. They did nothing to flesh him out, just another villian trying to conquer the world.

This is such a powerful scene especially since Storm though being powerful knows she can’t truly win and yet she still tries too. Tries to beat him and save the man that has been every X-Men’s father figure
@@tehmaimed Don't forget Jean Grey. This is the best version of her as well. Especially compared to the 90's cartoon version who couldn't so much as breathe without fainting and needing to be rescued.
I'm a huge X-Men fan and Apocalypse was always one of my favorite villains, but this version of him in this series is my favorite! I loved the techno-organic look of his skin in this animated series, after-all he is the world's oldest mutant and he has enhanced his powers with alien technology to make him into a virtually unstoppable, immortal techno-organic mutant! In the books he infects infant Nathan Summers with a techno-organic virus and he's taken into the future and saved to become Cable!
Now apocalypse plan is brilliant his hatred for humans is ingrained in him because humans try to kill him for being different so in his mind the only way for things to be equal is if everyone becomes a mutant
The music sounds a lot like it's from Stargate. I guess it matches Apocalypse's Egyptian theme. It's also funny that Christopher Judge plays Magneto in this show.
The scene takes on a huge weight when Apocalipsee lifts Professor X from the chair, and you see that he is not kidding. During all episodes (well, almost all), he was the base, on which others used to make decisions, the safe haven, and to see how fragile he really is is terrifying.
You know professor, there is something about choosing your battles. Pr X came to the most powerful man on Earth to TALK then started gaslighting and taunting him like a little brat. Very unreasonable and immature.
Exactly. Even Silver Surfer (probably my favorite Marvel series that ended WAY TOO EARLY) barely applied the concepts and hadd so much potential. It was actually an intellectual show so I could see why so many were displeased.
@NazzMaximillion This Apocalypse can shape-shift his size too, remember? We saw him do it later in the episode. And TAS Apocalypse had a big jaw as well. This one fits the "God" description better with the no talking thing. It differentiates him from your every day hammy comic book villain.

Yes indeed, but thats why X-Men is so good. It was very epic and complex. It had many epic characters and complicated (but very interesting) storylines. I sometimes wonder how children might be able to understand this cartoon. I believe that this cartoon is more for older people than children. Great show.

Yep-- both are voiced by David Kaye (who voiced Megatron in Beast Wars/Beast Machines, and possibly elsewhere); in this clip, he's also talking to himself, as Kaye also provided the voice of Professor X in this X-Men series.

@amartinez97 you may want to tell Marvel that because his last canon apperance was trully pathedic. He was asking Arch-Angel to kill him... yeah it was weird, some time in the future or some crap. Considering his last present apperance was being dragged off into space by the Celestials.

Is this David Kaye talking to himself, as both Xavier AND Apocalypse? I *know* that he voices *Xavier*, I'm just not sure if he voices Apocalypse or not; sounds like he *could*...
Of course it could be that since Apocalypse is speaking telepathically, he could be making the Professor hear A's words in his own voice. (Yeah I know everyone else hears the same thing, but how cool/creepy would it be if Apocalypse made everyone hear themself giving his words?)
Cable had a special weapon designed to kill Apocalypse. Guess what? Batman & Superman have taken down Apocalypse. So has the Black Racer, the Spectre, & Orion. I'm not disagreeing with you though.
Poor Xavier and Storm...
They were no closer to defeating Apocalypse than the Babylonians with their swords and fire sticks!
