You know it's a damn good game if you have to compare it to another game which came out a decade later and it still is on par with it...
In San Andreas, you can get into the Pig Pen, climb onto one of the stages, stand still between the stripper and pedestrians, collect some money without doing anything, and then walk away like nothing.

San Andreas and V are both extremely good games. It just all depends on what you like in games. Like extremely high detail then probably go with GTA V. Like a great storyline then go with San Andreas
I believe the storyline is good in both games, tis just left on the one who is interested to start playing the one they like first. However one thing I have to say about San Andreas is that its map felt wayy bigger as compared to GTA 5 for some reason. Travelling through San Andreas felt like travelling from city to city.

San Andreas feels more immersive to me GTA 5 map details were great but not having many interiors sucks
Even if gta san andreas was my childhood and it gives you a feeling of warmness and familiarity that no other game has I must admit that gta V has more detail.

GTA San is the only game that is so ahead of its time. It’s just that GTA 5 has online and those features can be added and better graphics.

I like San Andreas customization better because bumper changes the whole bumper in San Andreas while in V it adds a tiny splitter the skirts in gta San Andreas look interesting and change the whole skirt while V just extends it for each one especially rear Bumpers because San Andreas actually changes the whole rear bumper while V just adds a pewny little diffuser and guess what? V DOESNT EVEN HAVE LIVERIES OR ROOF SCOOPS!
