Thank you SOAR for caring for these eaglets. We greatly appreciate it! Nice to see their first flight in the pen. Because of the care they get, they have the chance of leading a full eagle life. One day they will soar, and be free. That would be an awesome day to see them released, fully healed. Great job to all of those caring for our precious eaglets! Thanks! Kudos!

Interesting how they release them with the option of coming back. I like that idea. Wonder if they will hang out together once they are released.

What has D32 been up to and do you have recent pictures? D32 (and Decorah) are incredibly camera-shy and turn their backs to the door when Kay goes in to feed or freshen the water pans. Sorry, no new pictures. D32 continues to be a good eater and takes the short flights from the food and water pan to the perch. Kay is hoping to get the current 20x60’ occupants moved out in the next week or so and then move some eagles into the 20x60’ flight pen, including D32, for initial flight training.
      2 November 2019
Remember that we've said D32 is incredibly camera-shy so rather than stress D32 (and Kay), we're not focusing on new photos, sorry.
      SOAR
I will post any new information on D32 when it becomes available.
      Thanks!

Has RRP designated the 2019 nesting as "unsuccessful"? For the first time, the eaglets did not fledge. The year the gnats caused an early fledge, when they retreated to the mulch piles, our valiant Dad continued to feed them, but they did not really fledge from that nest. How will this be entered into the nest history, which up until this year could proudly proclaim, ALL FLEDGED, even last year when we lost Dad and Mom heroically continued to care for them until they were able to live on their own. I don't mean to be a "Debbie Downer", but can we really call the juvies from 2019 successfully "fledged"?

They are alive and well. It doesn't matter to me if they successfully fledged or not. Hopefully the black flies or gnats this year are an anomaly and next year things are back to normal.
