He was not about to give up. Amazing he was able to get it to the nest...That was quite a heavy animal for a Eagle to carry. What magnificent birds they are.
That racoon probably doubled his/her normal flying weight. The bald eagle has tremendous lifting capability up to almost 15 pounds, but normally only about 7-8 pounds.
I’m exhausted just watching that. Wow! Raccoons can be very big. We had a HUGE one waddle across our front yard last week. We’ve got lots of eagles here. I would never have figured them to take something so big. That’s amazing.
I remember seeing a picture of an eagle that latched it’s talons into a huge salmon and it couldn’t fly with it. Eagle drowned before it could get loose. Fish and bird washed up on a gravel bank.
Some folks in Upstate NY have a video of a bald eagle "swimming," literally towing a Canada goose through the water on a lake (propels self with wing) to an outcropping. In the Missouri River near Omaha a few years ago, fishermen rescued an immature bald eagle which had caught a fish too heavy for it.
this is real Nature... stark and no jokes and no spoken language. Wild animals kill to eat or eat what is found dead. It's that simple. Humans are very different and part of why humans attribute 'human-like- motivations to animals (including cats and dogs).
I'm just surprised that a Bald Eagle would tackle such formidable foe as an adult raccoon (maybe it was a young raccoon?)! Very few dogs one on one can kill an adult male raccoon. They fight like small bears!!! Too bad you didn't see the eagle taking down the raccoon in their original fight.

Wow! What a lesson in never giving up!
That was incredible!
AWSOME VIDEO !!! Shows how determined a Mother Eagle can be !! 🦅♥️🦅
Wow, good job mom 🦅💜
What a determined and loving 🥰 mom ❤️❤️❤️
That was a Costco trip, groceries for the whole month baby! The eagles like “ yeah I had coupons!”
Mother Eagle: "Your Fadda wuz suppose to pick me up at COSCO"s, Where is he"?
Baby Eagles: "He went with the Hawks to the sports bar"
😄😄

She's probably wishing they didn't have the penthouse apartment for once!
Just imagine the amount of energy she had to expend to get that Raccoon up to the nest?
She'll need that protien to replenish what was lost during the transport!
What a BEAUTIFUL EAGLE
And to think that eagles are accused of carrying away lambs and decimating flocks. . .
Yeah, right
I have a Mr. Golden Eagle on line 2.....something about bullshit.

لا تستسلم النسر فريسة كبيرة وثقيلة وظل يحاول عدة مرات حتى أحضرها للفراخ سبحان الخالق العظيم البديع القدير 🥰💕
That coon looked like it had been ate on a bit or it was roadkill. Great work by the eagle. That'll give em all full crops
Mom.hadbstopped at one point and started in zipping it and ate a bit of it.
I agree, definitely road kill
That was one big RK raccoon! Wowza!

We kill to eat, too, or scavange. Only most city people don't do it themselves; they hire it done, so to speak.
Looks like roadkill to me.
Where was this filmed looks amazing ?
It almost looks as if the eagle sorta forgot where the nest is.
Eita não sei como ela conseguiu 🦅💕💕💕💕
Wow that's awesome
wow amazing thank you
Hard work 🤗🤗🤗😏😏😏
Too bad Eagles don't come out at night, i got a lot of raccoons in my are for them to eat 🦅
❤️❤️❤️
Everyone should feel the same when some other parent bird takes an eaglet outta the nest to feed to their children. It's all the same.
WOW 👏 😮
I think that’s papa 😉
So...no Guardians of the Galaxy 3 eh?
Final result is only a part of the racoon....must have ripped off a chunk to make it more manageable
I’d love to know if she killed that raccoon? Not an easy task I’m sure. Way to go Mom! Ur extremely determined!!!
Jab a raccoon with 4 claws... then you will have your answer,
Good job mom 😊
Fenómenal
That was impressive. Was that Mom or Dad. Just curious.
DNF (Decorah North Female)
Females are larger, so looks like mom.
Eating good in the neighborhood

Road kill?
Might have been scavanged.
That meal was Heavy ...
Well done, mom.
My thought, maybe eat half then fly it up?
That's what the eagle did. Ate a lot and took up what was left.
My kingdom for a stiff headwind 😅
The chicks are like mom went to Costco, should've taken the SUV.
freedom , , , , , , , , ,
Should have called Grub Hub...
I thought they were better than that . They are supposed to fly with fish what a difference maybe the weight
Hard to see that poor raccoon be food though.
