A country has the right to defend its borders and decide who it will and who it will not accept as immigrants, otherwise it's not a country at all, but a transit lounge at best, a tribal chaos at worst.

As a black guy, this ,man is the problem, he understands exactly what the issue is. The plan is remove the incentive, by saying you won't be staying them in the UK, apply legally or you will be dropped off in Rwanda, till your application is examined. It's a good system, there will be a huge cost, but look at the USA/Mexico situation, we are a decade behind them if we do nothing. The country is broke, but it won't get any wealthier if the tax payer has to pick up the bill indefinitely. For him to say that the local authority has to provide housing and only 4% of migrants clim benefits is nonsense. The tax payer will ultimately pay.

These people come here illegally not the new system announced being illegal. Most of the illegal migrants are economic migrants who came through safe countries. Does this man and others not see what is happening to our housing, NHS, benefits, taxes and education?

But selling a ticket from Rwanda to the UK with the added downside of it almost being a certainty of being intercepted by the Royal Navy and sent straight back to Rwanda is going to be a hell of a lot harder this time around, ha ha ha! 😂😂😂
There is a difference here of people who are genuine fleeing for their lives are grateful for safety and adapt to western styles to fit in than people coming for just economic reason who have no interest in adapting to western values who feel the need to push the standard to their side. I have seen this happen throughout the years and its becoming more and more frequent and there will be a tipping point.

People fleeing countries because of violence should be fighting for their freedom just like the Ukraine people. Those coming in are not fleeing violence but are fleeing poorer countries and coming for the free stuff.

A route from Rwanda in relation to the gangs, would be days rather than hours going through many country's. I doubt the gangs will be successful trying to land planes in the UK so that leaves land and sea. Theres a lot of time going through or just of the coast of country's so a greater chance of interception.
These People would be trying to get in to the UK knowing that if they are caught trying to enter the UK illegally they'll just be sent back to Rwanda.
This is a brilliant way of stopping the gangs, word of mouth, when the guys in France hear the guys who make it to the UK are being sent to Rwanda they will think twice. The guys who have given the gangs money to get them to the UK and instead been sent to Rwanda, if they've got any sense, wouldn't trust the gangs to deliver on there promise.
From some places in France on a clear day you can see the UK. You can't do that from Rwanda. At the moment the price vs reward is worth the risk. From Rwanda the price will be more, the risk will be greater and less chance at the actual reward. If you are caught, back to the beginning you go compounding the risk. Something like this needs to happen.
If they do this right I can see this being successful, But with this government, time will tell.

Something I just don’t understand is the process of every sovereign country to remove illegal entrants. If I went to USA uninvited, no documents I’d be stopped by customs and border force, detained questioned, refused entry and returned to where I came from via the next flight/boat home. I’d be given a handwritten note from the agent saying I tried to enter illegally without permission or documentation, I traveled from your country so I am being returned and banned from entering again.
France and other EU states does this so why have we not done so from day one with anyone that tries to enter illegally. If this had happened they would have stopped coming but putting them in hotels and rewarding them with a fully funded tax payer lifestyle is just encouraging more and more.
The country is already full, our public services are broken and our infrastructure is in pieces because it cannot cope with the numbers already here.
It’s disgraceful when genuine refugees need help like the women and children of Ukraine, and we don’t have room to take them because the hotels and social housing is full of fake refugees.
They’ve had 3 years to stop this and it doesn’t look like it will stop any time soon, this Rwanda policy looks like a softener for the local elections.
How much does this chap make a year exploiting the generosity of the UK taxpayers. If he wants to represent illegal immigrants he should do it from the centres in Rwannda.

This issue is nothing to do with right and wrong anymore as with most things nowadays, it's different ideologies. Get to the nearest coast from Rwanda (24 hrs by truck), boat to North Africa, another boat to South of France, train to Calais, RNLI to Dover. Total 5days.
The guy was very vocal about the plan being against the law. He never once admitted that all the people arriving are illegal! They break the law as they land, but we must make sure we don’t break any laws trying to move them on. The laws can work for some and be ignored for others. France is a safe country, none of them are refugees. They are economic migrants. If they were refugees at any time, they are safe in any of the country’s they have crossed. We should stop giving them so much, in many cases a better standard than our own people can afford! Our own homeless population are left on the street with nothing! Of course we are angry.
