Spent a week in Orlando in 2018 celebrating my higshcool graduation with my dad. During that time we hit full sail for a tour of the campus in winter park, and on our way to aroogas we walked through a batshit crazy thunder and lightning storm. Absolutely gorgeous, but my dad and I had a bolt of lightning explode not a foot in front of us maybe 5 feet above our heads, and that was the coolest/craziest moment of our trip. Absolutely mad. I fell in love with Florida, from clear water to cocoa Beach, and everywhere I saw. Just gorgeous
Ivis H Being from Florida that seems like common sense to me too, but I don’t think people outside of the state and country have that awareness of how crazy our thunderstorms can get.
@@blitzroehre1807 it’s also referred to as bolts from the blue, and yes I understand the point of exit is over the anvil region of the storm, but I was using another scientific term that is In my opinion more fun to say lol
This is a very dangerous thunderstorm because almost all the lightning flashes are cloud to ground. Those people still on the beach are in extreme danger.
Been to that exact spot on holiday! Great storm. Im surprised how ignorant people are with their safety but then, most people are either stupid or don’t care.
Me too I be long gone. Inside bullding. I can't believe people were just sitting on water they didn't seem worried about there life did they not hear the thunder. I didn't really know lightning can strike outside the storm clouds.
Where we are situated there is lots of moisture in the atmosphere (surrounded by warm oceans). Fortunately there is usually pretty good warning systems in place where this sort of thing doesn't sneak up on you.
Florida is in the tropical latitudes, it's also one giant peninsula with the Atlantic in the east and gulf of Mexico in the west. The two bodies of water create sea breezes which differ from one another in temperature and humidity. These sea breezes collide with each other creating powerful albeit short-lived thunderstorms
Thanks Rayan for the comment. I don't have any longer ones yet but summer is coming and I'll keep you in mind with my camera ready to get the next big thunderstorm.
During vacation in Florida, that is one thing I dont mess with in that state. When a storm comes yes its quick but that Lightening is intense that state. Making realize why they are they listed as Lightening capital of the world. They aint lying. Saw that bolt out of nowhere and the cloud wasnt there.
I can't believe thunderstorms being so unpredictable and dangerous, how people just carry on with their day like they are in no danger. No fear isn't a good thing. Least be aware of what could happen when outside during fork lightning.
Doesn't look like it to me. And this is why they always say, "when thunder roars, head indoors". The fact you can already hear thunder means all of these people are already in striking range for the lightning
Ya since posting I learned from the weather fans out there this is kind of a special/unique lightning nicknamed bolts from the blue or anvil lightning if you want to look it up. Kind of interesting.
The perfect picture of Florida. One minute is nice and sunny the next there’s a thunderstorm lol
Exactly :)
yep
Yep yep yep.
Bolts from the blue! This is a beautiful thunderstorm!

The thunder from powerful positive lightning is awesome. It’s a warning from nature.
Outstanding video. Gold star. 🌟
Great video. Love all the strikes in the clear air. Lots of idiots on the beach with all those CG bolts popping all over the place.
Glad you liked it!

You prune it is callled a Thunderstorm
The word Thunderstorm is the word you SHOULD have used

The people at the beach makes me cringe. They've should've been indoors at first sign of storms. The ignorance.😒

when thunder roars, go indoors
Ivis H People who aren’t from the area need to know that several deaths occur from lightning strikes each year in TB.
And there are people in the water yet!!!
One look at that sky and I’d be off that beach straight away.
Expectation: “let’s go in before lightning gets too close”
Reality: “we’ll go when it rains!”
And people wonder why lightning is the #1 killer...lol.
thunderstorms over the ocean or on vacation really is one of my favorite parts of the ocean
Head straight to the nearest bar and plenty of beer refreshment after running from the ⛱️ beach....
1:21 was so cool
Nature is pretty amazing
2:33 0.25 WITH NO Clouds
That’s crazy right?
More like the lightning too quick for the rolling shutter on the camera.
Its bc it was on the edge of the anvil so it traveled down far
Typical called a blot from the blue. It comes out from the top of the thunderstorm.
@@dariushunter6792 also could be a positive lightning strike
Wow that’s a rare event they consider that to be “bolts from the blue “

In Florida, most people don't care about lightning, so they stay by the beach as if nothing is happening.
1:22 BIG LITHTIGING IN COMING!!!⚡💥
What camera did you use for the footage? the sound from the thunder is so clear and perfect! Excellent movie (y)
Sven Swalef thanks a lot! It was a Canon 70d.
Like how most of the lightning was in the clear part ...just makes me cringe how it can strike out side the storm so frequently
right under the anvil is very dangerous for lightning.
@@CaliforniaGuy88 Never heard that. Thanks for the advice, I'll bear it in mind for the future.
I remember this storm it was bad in Tarpon Springs, the streets flooded with a foot of water
Yikes.
If I was at that beach I would have pelted my way straight back to the hotel after the first lightning strike
U should've went back to the hotel when u seen a big black cloud when u turned around.

Great video there. Why there people going in the water during lightning dangerous.
Florida sure is a lightning alley, I don't know why it attracts a lot of lightning, but I'm glad I don't live there.

Many positives bolts from the blue
Lightning strikes from the anvil. +CG’s. Never seen one for real.
Why the thunder is so loud. More powerful lightning than negative
Cool, instead of heading inside, people are going to the beach. That's 100% Florida.
Nice positive strike
Nice capture!
Note! There could be a tornado or tornadic activity within that storm.

all negative cg, as seen by the flickering effect.
