- Thunderstorm crossing Broadbeach Queensland in Australia on evening of 29th January 2016.
Filmed on a Samsung Galaxy Note 4.
Location was the 19th floor of the Pepper's Broadbeach hotel (facing South)
Few lightning strikes with thunder then main front hits around 8min into video
This storm made the front page of the QLD Bulletin the next day.
The best thing about Queensland storms is when the front hits and everything almost instantly cools right down providing instant relief from the unbearable humidity on a hot Summer's day.

OUTSTANDING footage!!! I felt like I was right there in Broadbeach Queensland watching this storm!! OMG, the sheet lightening, the cloud-to-ground bolts shooting from that classic teal-colored storm sky - ASTOUNDING!!! And then when that rain fell literally in sheets - you couldn't even see most of the city!! The waves in the ocean really picked up, too. What a gorgeous city Broadbeach Queensland is!!! The ocean makes me homesick for Massachusetts, my home state!
Only after coming back to the GC from Melbourne did I realise that we don't get those awesome thunderstorms down in Victoria. This sounds like home!
Wowww..this is spectacular footage. Love this and the view. You can totally see the storm coming in from the distance and my God the rains came down on you. WOW! Thank you for sharing.

Good old gold coast getting a thunderstorm
9:30 that has to be the emptiest beach parking lot in the history of all beach parking lots. Even at night in the winter i haven't seen so many free spaces.

At 11:07 you can't see anything, just rain and white
cool footage , we got hamered out here in Bonogin Valley , at one stage thought there was a rain wrapped tornado as wind gust quickly came in from the East , opposite direction to the storm front .
+Steve O'Kane Well the wind was strong enough that we could not stand on the balcony of the apartment any more. :-)
On my channel there is footage of a cell that came through on the Saturday evening after Friday's round of storms.
