Hopefully not. He’s not gonna be a Peekaboo swarmer anymore. Prone to counters. Back then, Peekaboo style is the go-to fighting style for short fighters with short reach, like Ippo. Ippo has learned new skills to cover his flaws. Judging with the skills he learned, (Parries, Insane footwork, Switch hitting, counterpunching) he’s going to transition into a Mid-Range Boxer-Puncher Switch hitter.
The title of the chapters is a call back too, during the sparring it was called a "white hot sparring" when Mashiba began to utilize the title fight strategy, and the first round of the fight was called a "white hot 1st round"
Mashiba knows that Ippo helped him a ton in that spar. You could tell by how he was waiting on Ippo to call him before the fight. I'm hoping that after the fight, Mashiba tells Ippo that he won't let his sister date a coward and pushes Ippo back in the ring. Basically, telling him that the only way a retired boxer could be as good as Ippo is if he's too afraid to get back into the ring. I also think that Rosario is going to get desperate soon. Mashiba is already wearing him down due to his great defense, and even Rosarios' coach doesn't realize that Mashiba was able to spar with someone who can fight Southpaw on a world scale.
i just hope this fight doesn't end up like hearns vs hagler with the long arm guy literally blasting the most powerful attack he has to get tanked, then proceeds to get a beating.
@@ramondpotter573 most entertaining fights that unfortunately ended too fast, give tommy more chin bro i wanna see him slugging it out with hagler until the 15's just like the one with duran
Post retirement Ippo is going to be one of the most skilled fighters in the series. We saw glimpses of Ippo's ability to execute a technical strategy against Karasawa, which to me was his most impressive performance *as a professional* (yes, I know his spars with Mashiba and Volg were awesome). Kamogawa said that Ippo's talent for problem solving was one of his greatest strengths. Seeing him develop that further- acting as a second, assisting with training, sparring with elite fighters, testing theories, scouting talent, studying tape and watching fights live- is going to make him a much better fighter. I see people complaining about how long the retirement arc has been, but we don't get a fully realised, peak Ippo without it.
There's also a theory Rosario might actually be a switch hitter and not a natural southpaw. Ippo will obviously be better than both Rosario and Mashiba to even match Ricardo if Ippo does eventually fight Ricardo
Yeah... Ippo could have never do this counter let's be real.... Retired Ippo is not better southpaw than an actual natural southpaw and active world champion, but he is getting there!
when ippo gets back in the ring he's gonna be using actual peek a boo (switch hitting like tyson did instead of just being orthodox)
New skill unlocked-D'Amato shift
That sounds like hype
bad position? switch stances get on the outside foot and surprise hes on the canvas

@@ajye8935 maybe he'd end up like alfredo where he kinda switches between either of those styles
Honestly ippos retirement has done something great in forcing him to think for himself and not rely on coach kamogawa

The cannon ball coming from Rosarios hair was priceless😭
hell yeah boy, this is what I've been waiting for
Excellent breakdown. Great video!
I'd imagine the first person ippo fights after retirement is randy boy jr
That would be sick, I hope it happens. One of my picks to come back when ippo returns, especially before fighting miyata again
great video
Give my man Rosario a hairline
Mashiba’s second stance looks nothing like a philly shell. It’s a high guard
Ikr it makes me think the author never boxed
@@shatdamouthboyah4568 Can’t know for sure, he knows some stuff
@@shatdamouthboyah4568the author actually has a boxing gym lmao
Well I could have explained it better. It helps mashiba use all the techniques of the Philly shell when he quickly shifts from hitman
@@RaziaManga Yup, the stance is useful cuz he uses the shoulder roll a lot

Did bro just say the high guard is the Philly shell??
The hitman style is more resemblant to the Philly shell 😭
The switch in when he transitions from hitman to the defense style to use shoulder rolls and fast left recovery. Should have been more specific.
Ippo may be strong because, like you mentioned, rosario was dehydrated before the fight.
3:31 wth is giorno giovanna doing here 😭
I don’t see a difference here 😂😂
Didnt know giorno started boxing
Rosario thought his disguise was good, smh
Weight drained rosario is weaker and slower than retired ippo
I pity the fool that cuts Rosario's hair.
where can i read the manga?
This is a good site for the whole series

Love your content but my guy that's a high guard not a Philly Shell.
Yeahhh 😭
