Just a tip when you repot. Do NOT get rid of the soil and take it apart. These have shallow roots and it will be hard to repot. Transfer the whole thing to another pot and back fill it. Also, WELCOME BACK!!

I already used isoprop alc to kill all the bugs and saved most of the plant, but unsure if I should change the soil. This had happened (minor case) a couple months ago too and I treated it with alc, but looks like the bugs made their way back :((

Just an add on to the watering for these.. I find that the “taco test” is a good way of knowing when it’s time to water. Ill find one of the largest most mature leaves and pinch on either side and try and “fold” it like a taco.. if it is flimsy and folds, water.. if it still is stiff then don’t! :)
yesterday i got a biiig variegated string of hearts for only 3,99 euros! (4.67 US dollars, i believe) i couldnt believe that i found one, and i told my mom that i was taking it with me (we were actually only looking for new bedding for our chickens, but my mom needed a gift plant) plants here in europe are so cheap and quite easy to find at your local garden centre, i love it sooo much

So I’ve been putting her in a direct spot place for a couple hours every day ever since and has been doing great!

I got my variegated string of hearts for 6.95. Granted it’s not trailing quite like yours yet but still thought it was a deal for what other places are selling them for. If you ever head up to the Bay Area, highly recommend Half Moon Bay Nursery. My favorite nursery. They have the most competitive prices in the Bay. :)

My local go to nursery is now selling homegrown SOH Silver Glory and VSOH. VSOH is an ultimate wishlist plant and I am so excited it will be available locally and at a reasonable price. I looked on Etsy but my kids have grown used to eating and having a roof over their heads 🤣

Yeah I keep mine in full sun all day, everyday. She loves it and is growing like you wouldn't believe! Disclaimer: Must be watered every 3-4 days and may not be recommended for all variegated string of hearts.

Do you add anything to the soil? I just got a 2 inch pot from a seller and it only had 3 variegated strings!!! One rotted- which I learned was I overwatered and like you said- wait till it’s dry. I want to make sure the other 2 strands survive and now I’m scared bc- well 2 strands left!

What size of pot was the varigated string of hearts ... was it the same size you showed in your video? Because if so I got hustled… I just purchased my own It was only in a 2" pot with maybe 4 to 5 hearts hanging over the edge...I paid $15....so did I pay to much for mine?
Hello Sharina! finding that variegated string of hearts was amazing, and the price was even more amazing! I'm thinking I need to visit California and find one then pack it up in my carry on and take it home, lol. I have been planning on visiting some family and friends in California this summer, so maybe I will get lucky and find one to take home with me. I have the regular string of hearts and it came to me as 5 non rooted single leaf cuttings, and there are three that are growing really well now, but it was 12.00 that my daughter spent to have these shipped to me, one of those rediculous plant prices. How big and long was she when you first got her ? Do you fertilize ? I wish mine would get that long . Mine are nice . And they’re not stretched . But I wish mine would get that full and long . They seem to grow so slowly 😄
My god she's gorgeous!!! That baby is really enjoying life. I think that direct light is probably why it's all pinky. It needs more light than just a regular variegation to get the pink.

I bought my variegated string of hearts for $12 off marketplace😊 Also bought my string of spades off marketplace, $35 for a super full & bushy plant. But I live in Australia, and our plants aren't as expensive as US
So beautiful! Was it around that same size when your roomie bought it? I think I have bought 4 little ones to make maybe a 4 inch pot. I have some new growth but it is very slow & I have lost a few along the way. Havent totally mastered the SOH or VSOH. But I guess when in doubt dont water it unless you have triple checked.

Now i’ve been propagating it since the winter but i find its really slow compare to the non variegated one. I’ve got a rosary vine over 20 years old. Probably 30 years old. They used to be cheap. I just recently found some in 4” pots that were $17.99 each. Crazy. Only good thing is that the new ones are slightly different…leaves are darker and pointed on the bottom of the “heart” whereas my old one is lighter in color and more rounded. I’d love to find a variegated one. I find they are one of the easiest plants to care for, thrive on neglect. My old one spent years on a high shelf under a skylight under very bright light.
Help! Why are my green soh leaves curling?? I only watered it once in the three weeks I’ve gotten it. Maybe overwatering? It’s in a 6in nursery pot and sits close to a northwestern window.
curling might actually be under watering... 3 weeks a long time to go in between watering (depending). Id say give it a drink and see if they stiffen up
Hopefully a large east window will do.. 2 years later and I bought a 6inch pot for 40 bucks. Prices still aren't that much cheaper and I thought 40 was a good deal so yeah! I am excited to finally have one though. I have a regular one in a south window with shades and its happy as can be with huge hearts. I noticed they are prone to spider mites though!

With your moisture meter do you only water when it's at 1? Like all the way in the red. I'm scared of under watering, as I killed my string of turtles from ubderwatering

I love love love this plant ! It's gorgeous, it grows fast, it doesn't die easily :) I wish I could find a variegated version where I live (france), that doesn't cost me an arm.

I did manage to get a regular string of hearts in a 2-inch pot and with shipping and tax and everything it cost me twenty bucks I think maybe it had wasn't even hanging down over the pot postabid two of the little beads The Forum on that plant that's why it's nickname sometimes is the rosary fine. But I think my little guy had two of those little Pearl like beads growing in the pot that formed the little string of Hearts I have it now hangs about 2 inches or a little more down the side of the pot. I've been letting it dry out I'm giving it extra light under an LED light. Sometimes I put it in the windowsill which is sort of a West window but we don't get Great West Lake because by the time I get really great light The Neighbors Tall Pine trees at the end of the yard block it out. Now I got to find someone who sell me a little tiny pot of the variegated

also - when you DO repot, choose a pot with rounded edges, so as the strands grow, they don’t have to rest on the sharp edge of a pot! :)

Do you add anything to the soil? I just got a 2 inch pot from a seller and it only had 3 variegated strings!!! One rotted- which I learned was I overwatered and like you said- wait till it’s dry. I want to make sure the other 2 strands survive and now I’m scared bc- well 2 strands left!

What size of pot was the varigated string of hearts ... was it the same size you showed in your video?
Because if so I got hustled… I just purchased my own It was only in a 2" pot with maybe 4 to 5 hearts hanging over the edge...I paid $15....so did I pay to much for mine?

Hello Sharina! finding that variegated string of hearts was amazing, and the price was even more amazing! I'm thinking I need to visit California and find one then pack it up in my carry on and take it home, lol. I have been planning on visiting some family and friends in California this summer, so maybe I will get lucky and find one to take home with me. I have the regular string of hearts and it came to me as 5 non rooted single leaf cuttings, and there are three that are growing really well now, but it was 12.00 that my daughter spent to have these shipped to me, one of those rediculous plant prices. How big and long was she when you first got her ? Do you fertilize ? I wish mine would get that long . Mine are nice . And they’re not stretched . But I wish mine would get that full and long . They seem to grow so slowly 😄
My god she's gorgeous!!! That baby is really enjoying life. I think that direct light is probably why it's all pinky. It needs more light than just a regular variegation to get the pink.

So beautiful! Was it around that same size when your roomie bought it? I think I have bought 4 little ones to make maybe a 4 inch pot. I have some new growth but it is very slow & I have lost a few along the way. Havent totally mastered the SOH or VSOH. But I guess when in doubt dont water it unless you have triple checked.

Ohh i really want the repotting video! I bought one for like 30 USD and when it arrived it was one (really long) strand haha. Now i’ve been propagating it since the winter but i find its really slow compare to the non variegated one. Anyways im glad roomie bought it for you cause its one of my favorites of your collections 😍😍😍. Love the video as always and since im here on January 1st, Happy new year too!!! Love from Chile!
I’ve got a rosary vine over 20 years old. Probably 30 years old. They used to be cheap. I just recently found some in 4” pots that were $17.99 each. Crazy. Only good thing is that the new ones are slightly different…leaves are darker and pointed on the bottom of the “heart” whereas my old one is lighter in color and more rounded. I’d love to find a variegated one. I find they are one of the easiest plants to care for, thrive on neglect. My old one spent years on a high shelf under a skylight under very bright light.

Help! Why are my green soh leaves curling?? I only watered it once in the three weeks I’ve gotten it. Maybe overwatering? It’s in a 6in nursery pot and sits close to a northwestern window.
curling might actually be under watering... 3 weeks a long time to go in between watering (depending). Id say give it a drink and see if they stiffen up

Hopefully a large east window will do.. 2 years later and I bought a 6inch pot for 40 bucks. Prices still aren't that much cheaper and I thought 40 was a good deal so yeah! I am excited to finally have one though. I have a regular one in a south window with shades and its happy as can be with huge hearts. I noticed they are prone to spider mites though!

With your moisture meter do you only water when it's at 1? Like all the way in the red. I'm scared of under watering, as I killed my string of turtles from ubderwatering

I did manage to get a regular string of hearts in a 2-inch pot and with shipping and tax and everything it cost me twenty bucks I think maybe it had wasn't even hanging down over the pot postabid two of the little beads The Forum on that plant that's why it's nickname sometimes is the rosary fine. But I think my little guy had two of those little Pearl like beads growing in the pot that formed the little string of Hearts I have it now hangs about 2 inches or a little more down the side of the pot. I've been letting it dry out I'm giving it extra light under an LED light. Sometimes I put it in the windowsill which is sort of a West window but we don't get Great West Lake because by the time I get really great light The Neighbors Tall Pine trees at the end of the yard block it out. Now I got to find someone who sell me a little tiny pot of the variegated
