I have looked at your gel list I have started trying foams/ mousse on my type 4 grey hair; so far, I like Mielle babassu brazilian Mousse, Miche gel to foam mousse, Aunt Jackie's grapeseed setting mousse. I am looking to try the Doux mousse.
@Omnihilo whenever you have a cast on your hair after using a gel or a mousse, you can take a little bit of oil, rub it into your palms then scrunch the crunch out. You can do it without oil too but oil adds shines and helps prevent frizz while scrunching.

I swear by the doux and I mix both mousse together. no flaking and they work. The 808 is ok
