Important Key Tips Not Mentioned: I keep my flat irons between 390-400. I’ll only go over 400 if I’m working with extremely course hair and I see that I need to up it. When I do, it never exceeds 410. When blow drying, the dryer should NEVER be directly touching your hair at ANY point. It should only be following wherever the brush is moving. That is how you get heat damage. Leave a tad bit of space between the dryer and your hair and blow dry on the highest heat setting your dryer has. Dryers that have 1,800-2,000 KW work best for silk presses. Last but not least, make sure those roots are completely STRAIGHT!!! That is a must, if your roots are not straight, you’ve just wasted your time. Your roots can take way more heat then anywhere else, so if you need to hit it twice with the flat iron, don’t be afraid. You won’t get heat damage from it. You can also use the mini flat iron for the roots (same method as using a pressing comb) and then flat iron how you regularly would. CERAMIC IRONS are your best friend, so stay away from titanium if you can. Hope this helps 💜
Thank goodness I found this video. I’m TERRIBLE with hair but desperately want to learn to take better care of my hair. Financially, I can’t get my hair done often but I’m tired of looking a mess and wearing my hair in a dreaded, dry, matted bun! Maryland weather also plays a factor in my hair always frizzing up, it’s so unpredictable here and humid!!
@@MsAKBombshell you can always take care of your hair yourself and get the same results as a stylist. Nothing is ever wrong with that route! @@NadashabHey i have a question, Do you have to put them in order? Like leave in, heat protector, serum. Like can you out Leave in, Serum and then heat protector
I have struggled with flat ironing my natural hair for over 15 years, I bought the products mentioned in the video and used as directed. The best flat iron ever, longest without reverting. THANK YOU!
Did it stand up in humidity? I live in Atlanta and I have had issues with frizz since I've moved here and I've tried so many different products that look good until I'm outside for a few minutes
Omg you guys this works!!! I straightened my hair for my leave out and it started reverting within a couple hours. So I watched this video, washed it and tried again with this technique. I’m SHOCKED. It’s been 5 days and I still haven’t had to straighten it again. And I have 4B/4C hair. Tysm!!!! Liked and subscribed 💕
Here is a list of shampoo’s and conditioners that will take your silk press to the next level and give you that salon quality look and feel. You need to use a clarifying shampoo first ( this is to get your hair squeaky clean. You must NOT skip this step). 2nd, use a moisturizing shampoo. And lastly, you can either regularly condition or deep condition. NEVER do both. You’ll over load your hair and weigh it down. Shampoo’s that clarify: Tea tree by Paul Mitchell (do not get the lavender), Oat protein and henna by design essentials, mongongo by Mielle organics. Shampoos that put the moisture right back in after clarifying: Mega Sleek by Matrix, Almond and avocado by design essentials, Honey Creme by design essentials, Macvoil anti aging (TOP TIER), Moisture recovery by Joico. Deep conditioners (can be used to regular condition as well) : Almond butter express by design essentials, K-Pak reconstructer by Joico , Babassu mint by Mielle.
Thank you so so much for this. You know what I noticed that I’m going to have to switch my shampoos I’ve been using the mielle products and I truly believe that that is for those who have that fine naturally curly hair - like my daughter who’s 8 the ingredients in those shampoos like carols daughter and Shea moisture and mielle are not strong enough for my hair so definitely I do need to go back to the old school products as you mentioned above

Thank you for all the information and for demonstrating each step so detailed. I especially thank you for sharing the products used to achieve such a beautiful result. I can’t wait to try this. I went to a natural stylist and I love her but as soon as I walked out the door my hair started to frizz. Literally 125$ down the drain 😢
I have tried so many things trying to get my hair straight and stay that way. This is the only thing that’s worked. Thank you so much, wish I’d seen this video sooner!
I gave you a like JUST for saying you are not wasting time with a long intro!!🎉 Why do other UA-camrs still describe what we can clearly see ourselves?!! (Rhetorical)
Thank you. I tried your method, and my hair is the straightest it has ever been. I am so pleased! I added Chi Iron Guard because I could not find on the bottles where it talked about them being a heat protectant. But I sprayed them all in with damp hair. I also made Bantu knots overnight to flatten my roots and took them down in the morning. My hair below the root was still damp, and then I did a blowout, and it worked very well. I was able to flat iron on 350 and had great results. I am 4C. High heat is not always needed if you have a good porcelain flat iron.
Most honest, simple and well explained silk press video. Thank you, my hair looks like weave now. Girls ask me who did my extension, I just laugh. Thanks you!!!

THANK YOU!!! I followed these directions and guidance (minus the products shared). As replacements I used generic Paul Mitchel products from Sally's Beauty - leave in conditioner, detangling spray with heat protectant and lightweight oil serum. My results were absolutely fantastic!!! I have fine hair and once I thoroughly blow dried, my flat iron did the rest. It has been a week and half and my hair feels just as straight and moisturized as day one. This tutorial deserves a curtsy to you Queen.
I’ve tried so many methods to get my hair straight like I used to before wearing a bunch of protective styles and was about to give up. This worked on my 4C hair perfectly, TYSM 😭

This video is so well done! Your voice is so easy to listen to. Your knowledge is obvious. And you're a good teacher. Thank you so much! I've learned so much. You're not just randomly chatting or over-explaining. Like you said, straight to the point. I didn't know how to do the products. Thank you a gazillion times❤🎉
Okay so I have straightened my own hair multiple times and it never comes out right. Always end up going to the Dominicans lol I followed your steps last night and BABY!!!!! Luscious. Thank you thank you thank you !
Thank youuu! I could not figure out why my hair keeps frizzing immediately after I straighten it! I used to straighten my hair all the time years ago and never had this issue I'm having now. Now it all makes sense, back then I used 3 products, some sort of leave in, heat protectant spray, and serum. I was about to give up on straightening my hair lol.
One of biggest gripe as a natural when getting silk press is that they they dont twist the sections like that! The stylist leave the hair hanging and then start tugging on the hair wondering why its knotted up again
My mom always twisted our hair like that during the drying process. I don’t know why people think it will not dry up if you leave in all out like that. Plus it is easier to dry when you section it off.
Using these products and technique for my college graduation being held outside TOMORROW! With faith of a mustard seed, Im praying my 4C comes thru! 🙏🏽😂

Side note: I will definitely be making my way to Sally’s for a new brush though 😉🥰 Thank you again! God Bless
@@kwhite9437 😍 this makes me so happy!!
@@Nadashab Keep sharing great content & doing what you do Miss Lady!! I am going to try achieving some curls too next time around wish me luck 🤭
So detailed and informant. I always thought more products can help the hair to revert back quicker but I was wrong.
Ty 💙 and 3 products max that targets those key things mentioned will always get the job done. It may seem like a lot, but if you portion each thing properly, it’s actually a little.
@@Nadashab thanks ❤for the info, will try to do a silk press.
If you ask some stylists they will agree with you. So much conflicting information. 🤦🏾♀️
@@cfoster6804 that's true I guess we just have to inform ourselves on the products we use as well🤷♀️
@@cfoster6804 that's because different hair types will react differently so there's no one right answer my for example i have low density type 4 low porosity... i have to straighten my hair freshly washed with no products
Thank you! People still gate keep this information. Really appreciate this
Thank you for all the information and for demonstrating each step so detailed. I especially thank you for sharing the products used to achieve such a beautiful result. Usually, UA-cam stylists would rush the process without providing any product information like it's a big secret or something. Thank you for being transparent and I subscribed without hesitation. Keep this good videos coming , please.
Thank you Lori 🫶🏾 I’m glad you enjoyed the video!
i love how this video is straight to the point and very detailed without to much talking i love this i have watched so many videos and your was just so on point
This is the best video I've found and I've practically watched almost all of what's available, finally someone that explains well and even tells us what the products do. Thank You.
Thank you so much! Glad you found it helpful!
thank you for defining the relationship between you and the hair model, because i was thinking the way you strongly re-positioned her head and then tapped her frown lines i assumed there was a familiar connection cause that's how i do my lil'sister😁😁
She has a bad habit of making those faces. I noticed it while looking up at the camera. I said aht aht before these folks think I’m hurting you 🤣
I know im late but I followed these steps using similar products and I have to say this is the best home blow out I ever did.
I can’t wait to try this. I went to a natural stylist and I love her but as soon as I walked out the door my hair started to frizz. Literally 125$ down the drain 😢
Omg! They kill me with that lol.
I have tried so many things trying to get my hair straight and stay that way. This is the only thing that’s worked. Thank you so much, wish I’d seen this video sooner!
😇🩵
Thank You! I'm definitely going to give this a try, applying the 3 products while the hair is still damp.
@@monicabrown2334 🥰🥰
This worked for me!!!!!!!!!!!! My hair is bone straight!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU!!!!!!
🖤
I finally tried it your way. Conditioner, serum and heat protectant and girrrll you’re right. My hair finally coming out as straight as I wanted.
😍
I gave you a like JUST for saying you are not wasting time with a long intro!!🎉
Why do other UA-camrs still describe what we can clearly see ourselves?!! (Rhetorical)
Ong I do not need to hear about how you sat between granny's legs and ate chicken liver growing up, get to the point 😂
You deserve your flowers for this one! 🌹🌹
Most honest, simple and well explained silk press video. Thank you, my hair looks like weave now. Girls ask me who did my extension, I just laugh. Thanks you!!!
So many tips in a short video! That brush sounds like a good idea. I have been heat free for 5 years and I am finally ready to switch it up! TFS!
You will love the brush 💜
❤❤❤❤❤💐💐💐💐thank you thank you!! and thank you!!!💐💐💐💐💐 I did this hair tutorial and experienced the big difference. Every woman needs to know this!! I will never go back to the way I use to do my hair again. .EVER!!!!
Hello did you get any frizz?
@@cecblackberry No frizz at all
I've discovered that this product is also excellent at detangling and preventing tangles if you just want to wear your hair natural.
I’ve tried so many methods to get my hair straight like I used to before wearing a bunch of protective styles and was about to give up. This worked on my 4C hair perfectly, TYSM 😭
This makes me miss my older sister doing my hair when i was a teenager 🥺 lol good times good times.
Makes so much sense. Intriguing.
Professional and safe advice: love, make sure you're covered. Dont let your chest out like that. A full shirt is plenty. 💪🏾
Thank you so much for watching and I appreciate your feedback 🥰 hopefully you were able to focus more on the video and not on my attire, as I happened to be in the comfort of my own home. I will always dress as I please and I hope that you do the same 🥰 so happy you loved the video and I appreciate your support 🥰
I did an outdoor activity with my at home blow out in the hot Florida sun and I saw the pictures later and yeah. I look like a crazy person. I definitely need to try your tips.
That's gonna revert anyways due to sweat don't forget our hair isn't made to be straight
My teen told me she's tired of her curls lol So I'm learning to do her hair. I did a good job but it was not very straight. Esp the ends. I've always had a problem with the ends.
🩵 thank you so much for watching! So happy to help!
Okay so I have straightened my own hair multiple times and it never comes out right. Always end up going to the Dominicans lol I followed your steps last night and BABY!!!!! Luscious. Thank you thank you thank you !
Yassss! I love it 🤎
Thank youuu!
This is the best Silk press tutorial I’ve seen and I’ve watched tons of them lol
Thank you so much Tierra! I'm glad you love it!
Beautifully done. The hair looks nice and silky-smooth. Everything is well explained.
I wish I could have you as my hair stylist.
One of biggest gripe as a natural when getting silk press is that they they dont twist the sections like that! The stylist leave the hair hanging and then start tugging on the hair wondering why its knotted up again
😩😩🤣🤣 so true
My mom always twisted our hair like that during the drying process. I don’t know why people think it will not dry up if you leave in all out like that. Plus it is easier to dry when you section it off.
Facts
Wow then you need to find a stylist that specializes in natural hair because that detangling and twisting process is key
I’m a stylist and twist wit up because that way is away from the area I’m working with
Really informative and lovely results. I did my own straighten today and it’s a bit frizzy, so I will try this next time.
Using these products and technique for my college graduation being held outside TOMORROW! With faith of a mustard seed, Im praying my 4C comes thru! 🙏🏽😂
😂🖤
How did your hair hold up?
Love how informative your videos are! ♥️ Straight to the point and no fluff

@@Nadashab thank you for this informative information.

I thank God for finding your video. I am in love with my hair after following your instructions. Thank you❤
Great video! I’m currently in cosmetology school. We weren’t taught the proper way to do a silk press from beginning to end. I was wondering why my client’s hair wasn’t coming out silky straight. Thanks for all the great tips! I will put them to use on my next client. New subscriber here!😃
Hi gorgeous! Thank you for watching and subscribing! Glad that I could help 💜
Thank you! I learned the importance of adding the 3 products while the hair is wet and taking my time when blow drying. Thank you once again!
Thank you for watching Nancy 🩵
I’m so glad I found this video. My hair looks like I went to the salon. I just did it before going to a wedding. Had me thinking I should go to cosmetology school and open my own salon. 😂
🤣🤣 I love it !
This looks amazing and them roots after the blow dry 😘 chefs kiss
Thank you 🥰
I have never had a silk press or blowout that doesn't frizz (fine 4a hair). Hairdressers used to think I was being ridiculous until the second I step outside my ends frizz up. Will try this on my own to see how it works #trusttheprocess 🤞🏾👌🏾
How did it turn out?
Girl the searching I had to do just to come back and find you!! I thought I subscribed when I first watched this video. I just want to say consider yourself hugged! I'll be the first to admit, I did not spend $30 on the serum. I got the Fructis instead. But I still followed your steps and when I tell you this silk press was silk pressing... Thank you so much for a useful video and much love from the Chi ❤!
Aww thank you so much 🥹🖤 I’m happy to hear my method worked for you!
I just came across your page. I love how you walked us through everything and the results. I'm just getting out the hospital and sent my son to get these products since I'm to weak to drive and go get my hair did. I wanted to come into the new year looking fabulous. 😊
I’m so happy to hear this! I’m glad you are finally out of the hospital and I hope you are able to regain your strength back. Thank you so much for your support and please let me know how your hair turns out! 💙

Great great tips. My daughter has 4c 20" of hair and I struggle with trying to get a beautiful silk press. I will try all of your tips (even the ones posted in the comment section). Sounds like they will be quite useful.

I did this on my 4c natural hair and I promise you your a life saver I have been trying all types of things for years and this method WORKS!!!!!!! THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO!!!! YOU ROCK
😍😍😍
Does it work in really humid places like Atlanta?
You litterally just taught me the wholleeee reason why my hair would frizz up everytime lol wow thank you
I'm gonna try this. I've been struggling. Mine frizzes up once I get to the next section. I was adding the heat protectant and Serum right before blow drying. Now I know to do it while wet. Thanks!
You inspired me to straighten my hair! Thank you for displaying the products!

I’ve had that blow dryer for two years now and it’s BOMB 💣 still works like a charm. Thank you for the tips will definitely do this on my clients 😊
I really appreciate you sharing your technique and products used. With 2 teenage girls, I can't always afford to get all of our hair done professionally.
Great vid! I learned so much. I used Paul Mitchel serum years ago and loved it. Going to go back to using it, my hair grew so much when I used it.
I did mine this past Saturday! & I invested in each of the products! 🥰
Yayy! How has your hair been holding up since?
Thank You for sharing I am still transitioning but I need this info so when I do my silk press I’ll know what to use. Your sister’s hair is beautiful
She looks like the spitting image of Former First Lady Michelle Obama, just gorgeous
Aww thank you! Such a sweet compliment 🥰

Thank you for sharing your valuable silk press information. I will try your method. Her hair is beautiful.
I just came from getting all these products, I’m about to try tonight. I live in Houston so I hope this works to help combat this super humidity. Headed to Cali too so I hope it holds out there too.

@@30somethingg well did it work?
@@Crazyconfedy yes! I haven’t had time to come back to YT for an update. But yes, I went to CA last week and it held up out there even out by the water. And then i got back to Houston this week and it held up all week. Today it got a little frizz because it actually rained but this will be my go to regimen for when i straighten my hair. I will say i still like to add a little oil to keep my hair from drying out but next time I’ll try and add just a tad bit more product when i blow dry. My hair sucks up moisture and gets dry so I need a little extra
