I've been craving for a good fantasy kdrama for months now and OMG ALCHEMY OF SOULS IS HERE AND MY LOVE HWANG MINHYUN IS HERE I'M BEYOND EXCITED 😭 like ohhmyyghadd the storyline look so good and yes powers and magic just what I like
Sorry for commenting this. But this drama plagiarized Chinese XianXia Dramas. Most elements demonstrated in this drama are Chinese. It's really disgusting and horrying the fact that South Koreans are appropriating Chinese culture through Kpop and Kdramas while labelling China as "cultural thief". This has gone to the point that Koreans are forbidding Chinese from wearing their own traditional clothes and celebrating their own culture. Because Chinese XianXia (Fantasy) dramas have gone popular, Koreans are now imitating Chinese drama while claiming that they are the origin.

It's an exceptional series with great storytelling and SFX, it tugs at all of the emotions from making me laugh to heart-pounding fighting and "Spells", and the love stories' "will they or won't they," OMG, make me well up 🤣+😲+😥

If you are a fantasy lover, you know this one is a good show. It's not overdone; everything is just right. I hope the storyline continues to be interesting as it is now. Love the show so far also my first time watching kdrama without skipping any parts of it. Kudos to everyone involved in the making of this show. Can't wait for ep 3

watched so many historical k dramas but this one I have no words to explain the charm of this drama.... have touch of everything.... fantasy, history,romance,comedy,chemistry of all characters and the actor's were just on another level....thnks a lot Netflix.... want to watch Alchemy of souls again and again and I'm sure never get tired of watching this masterpiece.... loving it....😍❤️😍❤️
What a wonderful ensemble cast. Could not stop watching. Made me laugh and cry. Great story line. Loved the chemistry between characters!
Let's be honest, Eastern /Asian series, cinema have REAL heart and soul. Everything captures my full attention and you really FEEL all emotions. All actors and actresses are light years better than Western. Thank you God for the streaming services now I can enjoy only the Eastern/Asian quality.
This the best historical drama.. also best story , screenplay, ost, actors.. and main actor is very unique.. you will end up loving his acting.. even though it's your first time watching him.. Lee Jae wook..❤

I had watched this movie as i end it just now and it's so Amazing, 1M/10 the best, all the Casts of the movie did such a great job to do.. I love it very much, like Now its Ramadan and im based here in Dubai Uae, this is what I am watching when ramadan starts and its my favorite pill... Sadness, Happiness, Greediness, Power and Love combined in it, and its really related much in the real wolrd... Please make more movies same like this,, im so happy and very proud of this movie❤ Lots of Love

It has a wonderful story & cast .. I finished half of it in 2 days .. Amazing
I gave this a try as I love Chinese and Japanese cinema. It is set in a traditional setting yet the characters use western dialogue very reminiscent of California. You could tell this was highly influenced by American movie making. It was a good combo and well worth watching. A combination of traditional story telling with modern dialogue. Very well done. 10 Star ☸️☯️☸️

Alchemy of Souls reminds me so much of an wuxia and i’m loving it!
Watched this as soon as it was uploaded to Netflix, but only just realised, a day later, that the opening is basically Arthurian legend. The King is Uther Pendragon, his mage Merlin, and the wife seduced by the man who looked like her husband Igraine. Which makes our protagonist Arthur, there is even a sword that cannot be drawn.
So is our heroine his sister? Does it count as incest if its the soul of your sister in another person's body?
For some reason I find this funny🤣🤣🤣, I didn't think this far when watching it, I just like the fact that it's K-drama, fantasy, the visuals are great & it has a good plot.

I didn't know Park Dang-gu (Yoo In-soo is Yoon Gwi-nam I really hate him that series hahah but he is one of the best actor he amazingly do his part . Wish I still saw him on S2 ❤️❤️❤️

😂 Many times during the series I'd be like:
"Why are you talking about secrets so loud you are literally in the middle of the street."
"You almost died and escaped, how come you are taking your sweet time walking home when you should be running".
TLDR: the number of times you need to suspend your disbelief while watching this series is staggering.

Seo-Yul & Mu-deok has a chemistry but Mu-deok meant to be to Jang-wook , I wish he can found his love this series too.
I found chemistry to Mu-deok & Crown Prince Go Won , I wish it happen meant to be triplets 🤭🤭🤭, I have a loud voice on my head like Mu-deok so I think we need triplets mu deok. But it never be happen because Mu-deok is mean to be Jin Cho-Yeon Sister, the solutions we create illusion in the mirror so we can create mu deok for crown prince and Seo Yul 🤭🤭🤭🤭

I think they make too many unnecessary episodes and they drag the story too much for me. Only part I enjoy was season 1 episode 11-18. I wished the drama has fewer episodes and better plot and ending 😢

*SPOILER ALERT*
This is such a great kdrama, all actors, storyline, effects are amazing however last ep of its S1 is such a BIG DISAPPOINTMENT. Cliffhanger ending & even orig naksu to be the lead role on S2 are understandable but what they did to Naksu's character is merciless. After portraying in the past eps that Buyeon is such a powerful priestess with divine powers & saved both Jank Uk & Naksu when they were in danger, all of a sudden Buyeon did nothing when Jin Mu controlled Naksu?? And after Naksu turned her back on immense power of the ice tone to protect the people she care about, they turned her again into a heartless assassin that she no longer is as Mudeok. Worst ending of a kdrama I've seen.
Lesson learned: After AOS S2, NEVER AGAIN to Hong sisters (except if the ending of their next kdrama after AOS is a happy & fair one). They have brilliant minds but they didn't put it to good use on the last episode.
