Dragon Warrior Monsters was one of my favorite games as a kid on the original gameboy

One of the best of all time, IMO… but Dragon Quest Monsters 2 for GBC was GOAT, prove me wrong
I remember playing the original on my Gameboy pocket, then when 2 came out, my parents got me and my brother a version for each of us, and new game boy colors to go along with them.
The PS1 remakes of 1 and 2 were better

I got this game around my birthday when I was in high school. I was so addicted. I got Joker 2 and 2 Professional Joker 3, etc and the 3DS games.
I still play it because theres only a few games worth playing. So much garbage was produced over the years. Shovelware. This game is great because you can synthisize right off the bat after maybe an hour in so you can get a great team before doing anything. Overthinking is my specialty. I am a libra. I love this game.
I’m also a Libra 😄 and you can repeat “Shovelware” all day!! I agree. A lot of my favorite titles unfortunately have just been fluffed over the past decade instead of ambitious innovating the gameplay.. I’m hoping we’re just in a stale phase before a new era of gaming! It’s all timing with these big companies we won’t get the upper-echelon games/consoles they have under wraps until they’re sweating the ducketts!
I still have this game with my Beetlebully, Estark, and Mortamor as my main team. One of the underrated games but worth the grind :)

This game was literally better than Pokemon in every way as an RPG. Deserved way more love. Felt left out as as the only kid in my class who liked this while everyone else played Pokemon

Dragon Quest Monster series (especially Joker 3 and Monster 2 3D) slaps the face of Pokemon.
This is what a Pokemon-like should be, game that even Pokemon never have been.

I grew up on the 2nd game and I still play it and I recently only beaten it that’s how much story is behind it and I got it like 10 years ago and the only downside is that it’s not that popular

I was born in 01 so i was about 7 when this game came out. My mothers friends older son would constantly babysit me and he was already of drinking age at the time. So he would just game and go to parties and one day he beat the game within like 1 weekend and gave ut to me. I played the living fuck out of the game. Sadly it got lost over the years, then i bought a copy in high-school and it got stolen with a bunch of other things, so I'm now on my 3rd copy of the game. I'll never get tired of playong through it and i cant wait for the new one coming out on the switch soon

@ExaltedCustoms-Alexander when my 2nd copy got stolen, I didn't have a working DS, so I was playing on my friends sisters DS. I had to wait until I got another phone to go online and buy the 3rd copy, and I used my birthday money to buy the foldable 2ds. I love older games, so I have no problem just spending absurd amounts of money on games. I got my mother a Sega genesis just last Christmas. But yeah, I've played through the game 3 separate times, and I've never got bored. DQMJ2 was kinda boring, though, due to it feeling like a maze to get around in, and the Big monsters didn't really impress me as much as the first DQMJ did with it's creativity. Sadly, DQMJ3 never had an English release.

I mean, I remember Dragon Warrior Monsters from my childhoold. The whole series is awesome! Highly recommend people go through the extra effort to patch & translate Joker 3/Joker 3 Professional, Terry's wonderland 3D, and Iru and Luca's mysterious Keys. Translations are pretty perfect for everything except, I think, Joker 3 professional.
I can't wait for DG to get the hype/rep it deserves!! Christmas this year we're going monster mode

One of my favorites. Always recommend this series (or at least Jokers 1 & 2 😅). I tried the English patched Joker 3, and while the story was understandable, the explanations for a lot of the new mechanics were.. Insufficient. Don't think I'd ever beaten that one.
While I still enjoy Pokémon games, they never reached the same level as DQMJ until SV, and even then, DQMJ has more replay value imo.

The joker series was alright, but I don't think they held a candle to the original and DQM2.
That being said, I'm looking forward to the Dark Prince in December.

Joker 2 is overall much better than joker 1,there is more content, the game also has a diverse cast of monsters,it has more soundtracks and the areas are bigger and more beautiful, game also has weather effects and giant monsters.
DQ5 4 6 for the ds are the best ds games, not dqmj

I may be spoiled from OG Terry, but i really dont like the Joker games
Only thing I don't like is the Walking speed
It’s aggressively slow compared to most modern games but still bearable if you’ve played a lot of handheld Pokémon games
