**Equivalent to 7-8 chest x-rays

This is an extremely important video and very few people know about this type of test. Thanks for bringing it into the light doc!
Always great information that most doctors never talk about. Keep the great content coming!
Dr. Sung is great! Very informative and knowledgeable!
A few years ago in the U.K., it cost about £150. The moneymakers woke up as knowledge of the test spread. Most providers won’t let you just have the scan now, you have to see a cardiologist first, with the total package cost now being around £700. It is criminal and people are dying because of this. I can’t afford proper heating, yet I would get the scan tomorrow at £150. £700? Not possible. “First, do no harm”? It seems, not so much.
I don't know about European healthcare but I do know that the amERRORican healthcare system is comprised of corrupt cowards and they intentionally block your access to testing, diagnosis and treatment and medicine until you pay the troll fee to work your way up the ladder which is extortion but in the united states the cowards of law enforcement do not enforce the laws upon the medical cartels (healthcare system). Both industries are cowards in true form.
Yes very true because it’s all about the money.
Thanks again Dr. Sung. I need to look into having this scan, I'm 57 next month.
Most (any?) insurance won’t pay for this but my cardiologist’s office had an agreement with imaging to do it for $75. Great plan - and my score was zero! 🎉
Another video with great content! Love the information that you share! So simple yet profound. Thank-you for all that you do. 💯🙏
Really great video everyone should watch. Looking forward to your follow-up video on this important topic. Thank you!
Great video. we have the ability to take control of our own health testing…. Thanks!
Thank you sharing this information, Dr. Sung. I'm sure it will be of great benefit to many!
🙏✨
It’s vital to understand CAC score is a screening test and not a diagnosis test. These are two very different tests so never let an MD confuse you by mixing these test together.
Screening tests can detect problems to maybe forward you along to diagnostic testing.
But sometimes diagnostic testing are more profitable so are pushed harder upon the public for the lust of money.
Thank you for this fantastic video doc.
Everyone who was vaccinated should be checked pretty soon..
I agree!
I don’t agree your talking bull vaccines are nothing to do with it.
@@heman691 obviously you’ve done no research of your own.
@@colbyrulesmydoggie4839 are you purposely ignorant? 🙈🙊🙉
Great vid! You can't just schedule yourself though -- the imaging department will still require a referral from your doctor -- even if paying out of pocket.
Really informative 👏
I got my calcium ct done last year. My cardiologist recommended
In the next vid, can you address if you think EDTA can decalcify the arteries?
Omron machine for BP measuring was ok on me until it went nuts, it gave me a reading of 160 so I got worried and rushed to the hospital, there I got a 140 reading and getting dow while I was at the hospital under observation. It cost me some because it was a private hospital. I would recommend some caution using the Omron machine.
I had optimal blood pressure and two months later I had a widow maker. Blood pressure is not an accurate indicator. You can have normal bp and still have a heart attack
Can you say something on pulmonary hypertension when you have high pressure both atrial and venal ?
My GYN prescribed this for me and I got zero. That was maybe 5 years ago.
Dr. Jin W. Sung could be this test available in almost any country?? Im from the Philippines
Thank u doc.
Please give your opinion on CIMT vs CAC
CIMT ultrasound of the carotid arteries. About $150...no radiation...shows hard and soft plaque in arteries in neck..........shows thickness of inner wall in artery called intima.
Yes that is an excellent screening test.....But for example here in Greece 600 euros!!!! And the average salary is between 600 to 700 euros, anyway it is one the best test you can do, thanks doc.
Just had this test done. $125.00. Good results!

modifying your diet is a great way to start the reversal of heart disease, but what can someone do to speed up the process of ridding the body of excess calcium?
What about the cimt?
Is it okay to have that many X-rays?
doesn't calcium scan only reveal later stage CVD? most getting the scan will show no plaque. just wondering if we can find other predictive markers of CVD without the ionizing radiation that breaks bonds.
Is Raynaud’s a symptom of cardiovascular disease?
my cardiologist says they are moving away from this test, . i have a zero calcium score and I have minor non- obstructive cad
Where can you do the test with no prescriptions?
I fight this every time I get a test, always coding for profit, and they always win.
I'm doing mine next Wednesday. Cost $119. I'm doing this because my cholesterol level is in the 220's and Dr put me on statin. I don't agree with the statin prescription and don't feel cholesterol levels in 220's is a dangerous thing.
I do but my family history of heart disease is not good. My # was about 210 and I started taking statins - been about 10-12 years now. Also taking omega-3 fish oil for triglycerides. That helped a ton!

What about CIMT?
Isn’t there a blood test that determines this?
Isn’t the radiation of of 7-8 X-rays dangerous long term since radiation damage is cumulative?
This is the information I found when I Googled: "All X-rays and CT scans use radiation. However, the amount of radiation from the most modern dedicated coronary calcium CT scanners - called an electron-beam CT - is very small: 0.6 mSv. This is only a little more than a mammogram."
Great video. I have a cac score of 0 but was told the scan does not pick up soft plaque. Should I be concerned and how do we check for soft plaque?
I think you would need a Coronary CT Angiography for that. However, the unfortunate part of that is that the procedure requires the injection of contrast dye into the blood as a preparatory step.
@@VishalRaoOnUA-cam Thank you. I was thinking about getting one done but don't want the dye just like you mentioned. They do have something called an carotid ultrasound. Not sure if it's as good as the ct but atleast less invasive.
@jeffreyscottfishman What a coincidence! I just signed up for a Life Line Screening "Cardiovascular & Stroke Disease Risk Screening" package. I'm going in on Tuesday afternoon. It includes a carotid artery ultrasound as well as ankle-brachial index, as well as screening for aortic aneurysm and atrial fibrillation.
Wasn't there a few other types of testing that the creator Dr. Agatston of CAC preferred? I know he advocates for low carb diets to prevent heart disease
Disagree. Unnecessary exposure to x-rays. Nothing about your results will change the kind of lifestyle you need to be living. And there's nothing you can do about the calcium buildup. I've been sitting on a prescription for over a year. For me, any result beyond zero, and it won't be zero, would feel catastrophic. My approach has been to just live as if the score is the worse possible. That's all you can really do anyway ...
Cannot a person actually reduce the calcium score over time using proper neutraceutical protocols?
My understanding? No. All you can do is stabilize the buildup by living and eating clean. Then your score will decline relative to your age group. Meaning you stay the same and everyone around gets worse.
This is what I found when I googled the CAC radiation level: "All X-rays and CT scans use radiation. However, the amount of radiation from the most modern dedicated coronary calcium CT scanners - called an electron-beam CT - is very small: 0.6 mSv. This is only a little more than a mammogram."
We’re can you get this test done??
