I don't think the romantic type of love is special, and I think that the romantic type of love isn't real. I mean about more than half of romantic couples either break up with each other or divorce each other, while most platonic best friends remain friends until death.
I think that having a platonic best friend is a lot better than having a romantic partner or spouse is. Having someone who's like a sibling to you is a lot better than having a romantic partner or spouse. Also, you are more likely to be much more closer to someone who's like a brother or sister to you than you would be with a romantic partner or spouse.
People tend to fight with their partner or spouse a lot more than they do with a platonic best friend, and you never fight with your best friend the way you fight with your partner or spouse.
Partners and spouses are just temporary. If you break up or divorce them, it's hard to go back to them.
With your platonic best friend, you're going to make things work, because they are your best friend, they are your go to partner. It's always easier to make amends with them than it is with a romantic partner or spouse.
Romantic relationships are pointless, while platonic relationships are not.
I met mine in middle school. We started off as enemies but now we're lifelong friends.

Most people around me are just emotionally too distant or even worse they just don't empathize anyone.
I never had a problem with having fun by myself or shouldering something that pushes me to my limit. In fact I'm considering myself to be most resilient person among my family, even the loss of my grandparents didn't affected me that much. Not that I didn't care, I knew that someday they would be gone from this world and I was cherishing every moment that we have spent.
But now I realized how much I want someone to talk, laugh and cry together.

I thought so too, but then we had a massive fight and we fall apart, didn't see her after that. A couple months later we started to see each other again and I dare say our friendship become stronger after that.

I fell for someone for the first time ever. Currently wrestling these feelings, as he don’t feel the same no more and will never give a future together a chance. Grateful to have him as one of my best friends at least while I spend near two months and counting healing the heartbreak.

I’ve known my best friend for less than a year, but I knew he was my best friend after only a few months when I found myself trusting him. And not only trusting him, but wanting to trust him, which was a first for me. Honestly, I hadn’t realized how much I needed a best friend until I shared a very personal song with him that required me to basically explain my whole story; then i asked him to explain his, and he obliged. We were up at the school until probably 1 or 2 am; there were many hugs and even though neither of us is a crier (let alone in front of other people) we both came very close to it lol. His now-girlfriend, who is a close friend of mine as well, cried a LOT. That night was the first time I had called someone my best friend since elementary school, though I didn’t realize that until well afterward.
And then, the next day, something happened that caused all the painful memories i had shared to flare up even more. Emotionally, I was out of commission for a week and a half (which included exam/performance week), but he stuck by me through it and we both still managed to end the semester with very high grades. Sometimes I wonder why the heck he’d ever want to be my friend. But I’m incredibly thankful to God for placing us in each other’s lives, and grateful that he’d deign to become my brother.

Me and my BFF definitely call each other out on our BS!!! We don’t get offended because secretly we know they’re right and we just won’t admit it to ourselves. I think it’s super important to surround yourself with people who aren’t just yes men and will actually tell ya the truth (respectfully ofc)
I met my best friend Matias Gonalez in 2005, I was 14, we were in the eighth grade. When we were Sophomores in High school, I had to move to Tennessee, that was in 2008. The last time I saw him was in December of 2010, seven months after him and I both graduated high school, him from Hernando high school in Florida and me from Tennessee. little did I know that this would be the last time I would ever see my friend, a year later, my mother told me that Matias had moved back to his home country of Uruguay. He is currently Serving in the army, stationed in Africa. We still chat on Facebook when we get the chance, however, we do not end our conversations without saying 'I love you' to one another. Our friendship is still going strong to this day.

My best friend and I met on the first day of secondary school we had all the same classes and apparently we argued all the time but we don’t remember that even thought we’ve only known eachother for two years we feel like we have known eachother for centuries and he is always there to have my back and I’m always there to have his.
Even this year we are still in the same classes but because of covid and my school is shutting down every term so we mostly have online lessons

But they are moving away as soon as I thought they would be with me forever. It hurts but I know she'll meet a ton of amazing people and go on so many fun adventures. The one who's into Disney, I've known her since my first summer camp, and the one who's into anime & video games, I met him in the middle of 5th grade. I have both of their phone numbers. If you have a friend who you can make jokes with, no matter what they are about, and they laugh. Or you have a friend who is always hyping you up about your interests or passions, even if it's something they're not into, I envy you more than you could ever know.
I've never had a friend I was super close with and still don't.
Most of my friend are fake or toxic, so when someone turns out to actually care, even just and little bit and out me, they mean so much to me. But the friendly affection I give to them, or things I say, make them think that we are closer than we really are. And I hurt myself when I put my whole heart into our friendship and it ends off, even if we weren't even that close.
If you don't have this problem, I envy you to a point where I feel angry or sad when I see genuine and happy exchanges between you and your friend(s).
Loved ones and others I trust keep telling me to be patient, but I don't know how long I can wait for someone like that. I can't wait for a true friend.

Last year i invited one of my schoolmate to bookfair ,since then we become kind of closer than before.
He sometimes meet me, greet me,we have lunch together, sit beside each other when we in the same class .I can be considered introvert but i like how he always irritated me because he make me feel "exist".

I just had a really weird thing happen... I burnt my whole arm in boiling water because, well I guess I just wanted to. It made me feel better. I feel like I deserved it. It was hurting so bad, but it was like good at the same time. My closest friend asked what I was up to over text and I told her about it because I tell her everything. She got really worried about me and asked if I was ok. I told her I was fine, and that I do this all the time. This time I actually got hurt though, more than just a surface burn. She sent me this
"Well I don't think that's right... Wow, water bursting blood vessels? Okay... Just don't do that again. Promise me. Not to hurt yourself again. As your best friend, I can't stand the thought of you getting hurt. That scares me. A lot. I won't tell *other friend* but you need to promise to not do that again."
