Pleased to hear the UA-cam algorithms do work occasionally! 😉 You will love the Tuono, it is honestly a fantastic bike, worth owning purely for the v4 soundtrack!
As the owner of a bike with Ohlins EC2 suspension, I’m really not surprised that the ride isn’t very plush if you have it set in one of the ‘manual’ modes. You’re completely overriding the semi active functioning of it. It would make things much clearer to a potential buyer if you compared the different automatic settings, rather than making a ‘one off‘ statement about the quality of the suspension.
I tried all the different suspension settings and experimented tweaking them all and in the end the one that worked best for me and my style of riding was the manual road setting. My main irritation with the suspension was not having the ability to adjust preload electronically, but apart from that it's obviously top notch stuff, but a little wasted on a pure road rider like me. If I'd have been keeping the bike long term I'd have taken it to a suspension expert and had it set up properly for myself.
I have a 22 Tuono V4 Non Factory. I love the bike and rode it quite a bit before installing a Graves slip on and Gabro airbox and ECU tune. For an old guy like me it is a 90 minute bike without taking a break. Quite a fun 90 minutes though. I have ridden my Tuono in 117F, fast and very slow with stops with no overheating. High 220'sF coolant temp was the hottest that I saw. Before and after exhaust and tune. Turning radius is sports bike. I recently purchased a 22 Tracer 9 GT for comfort and long rides. Great bike also but not in the same league as the Tuono with regard to performance and handling. Just my $.02.
From what I understand the issue with the heat could be simply down to a software update. But for me the biggest issue came down to the turning circle. My garden is very tight and pulling the Tuono out of the shed and on to my drive literally was a huge effort in itself. Having said that, it is still one fantastic machine, and I certainly am glad that I owned it, even if it was only for a brief period of time! I will always miss the roar of that glorious V4!
I think you gave a good review.I have a Tuono v4 1100rr ,the non factory is easy to ride and more practical.I travel abroad to Italy each summer 2500 miles return trip to the Abruzzo mountains!I have always bought Aprilia's,Falco,RSV Mille,Tuono v4 1000cc APRC .My present bike is the best so far.I agree the turning circle is not good but the 1000cc Tuono wasn't good either.I get 49/50mpg on long distance rides,37mpg is the worst, average is about 45mpg.Yes at very slow speeds i tend to dip the clutch,i have stalled a few times.Comfort is good i can carry soft luggage ok but exhaust is abit high so can burn items,i prefer the lower exhaust on the 1000cc Tuono!I felt doing motorway rides the extra weight helps, with luggage even better. For the mountain roads less weight the better!I heard their have been faults with the bike but my bike is fine.I always get discount when i buy the Aprilia's,never pay full price, buy off season for lower price!
Agree with you, it was actually a fairly comfortable bike considering it's sports bike roots. For me looking back the biggest issue was the turning circle and actually getting it out of my shed and garden because of that. It definitely felt more stable at high speeds than. y current monster!
I love mine. Best handling bike I’ve ever ridden and sounds incredible. When you really get on the gas it is an absolute dream to ride. You do end up at the petrol station a lot though 😆😆.
Absolutely, that engine is just phenomenal! Easily one of the most engaging power plants out there! And even with the standard end can it sounds absolutely demented!
you call the suspension firm , do you mean the springs in it ? i own a new tuono since 3 weeks and im getn used to it now , gonna track it . i was thinking the springs might be a bit weak , as i am 72kg and the rear doesnt feel firm . i have an apointment coming week with a suspension guy to setup the sag of the bike correctly . most bikes have good springs for my weight , never had a too soft suspension as i weight as much as an italian or japanese guy ( what they aim for as thats default in italy/japan)
In comparison to my other bikes it felt firm, but if i'd have been keeping the bike long term I would have had the suspension properly set up for me like you. I tried fettling myself but could never quite get it 100%. I remember having my old Street Triple R professionally set up for me and it totally transformed the bike!
I have the same bike with Akra and stage 3 from Gabro. The bike is perfect for me. From your oppinion about bikes, generaly speaking, your garden size too, I can see that it is not proper for you. What about heating, or oil consumption or very easy to scratch painting?
I didn't have any issues with oil consumption, but I did have an issue with overheating, which meant summer riding round town was a horrible experience! A couple of times the temperature gauge started flashing as it had got so hot! Paint wasn't too bad either, but I did put some paint protection round the tank.
A few reasons, but the main one being that getting the bike out of my shed, avoiding the conservatory and my other bike, was a right pain in the backside due to the poor turning circle. It was turning in to a 10 point reverse turn every time due to my garden being so tight.
Haha been vegan for almost 20 years and just ordered a Tuono v4 Factory. And now YT algo suggested me this.
Just stopped by to say hi :)

Yes. Mine came with the Akrapovic end can and map. Sounds awesome. Keep up the good work 👍

We’re the evotec levers east to fit?
Honestly super easy, and I am not that mechanically minded! I just took me time on the job, and it worked out fine. The Evotech levers are fantastic!
Get your sen on a honda Cub mate
I'd have no problem riding round on a Honda cub, anything with 2 wheels is fun to me! 😉
Turned off when you said you’d probably. Done about 1000 miles🙄🙄🙄in 4 months. See Ya
😘
Selling it already after 4 months why?😮😮
