So glad you enjoyed this trip. I live in Vancouver, and took the trip to Lake Louise several years ago and was just as excited in seeing a part of Canada via Rail. And the food!
I always love when my American family and friends visit us in Canada to enjoy the outdoors where there are "more animals than people" as Mom always says .... enjoy!
My husband had the opportunity to be the engineer on this train quite a few times. He was on the reverse leg of the journey from Calgary to Banff. The scenery and landscape in BC never gets old.
@@samtrak1204 sorry for the confusion. As the engineer he took the train from Calgary where it sits in the yard to Banff and lake Louise where the passengers embark then his terminal ended in Field BC where another crew would continue on the journey. Train crews are limited in the hours on the train as well as the area they work
I live in British Columbia (Beautiful British Columbia), and im thrilled you both are really enjoying and documenting your journey. British Columbia and the Rocky Mountains of Alberta never ever cease to amaze me. I wake up every day and am so thankful for where I live. Love your new do, too! Great video, thanks for bringing us along.
I love the channel I love watching you grow the editing has improved immensely and just all-around good content. Keep doing what you’re doing guys 👌👌👌👌👌👌👍👍👍💪
Don't you wish you could stop for an hour or two to fish those rivers. That's the only trouble with train vs car travel. You can't just stop to fish, walk, swim. Beautiful scenery and the food looked amazing. Thanks so much for showing us this 40th anniversary coming up. May have to look into this.
Best scenery ever!! When we drove we did the reverse route starting in Banff but stopped in Jasper, Clearwater and kelowna. We saw the train in Jasper and the passengers were staying in the same hotel as us saying nothing but amazing things about the trip!
Our family took the Rocky Mountaineer from Banff to Vancouver several years ago. The Canadian Rockies and Banff spectacular and one of the most scenic places in the whole world! We loved our train travel. So glad you are enjoying it too!
Welcome to our “backyard” 🙂. We live in Calgary so Banff is our weekend getaway / day trip / summer camping location. Glad you got to see the beautiful scenery that surrounds us. Can’t wait to get to part 2 when you reach beautiful Banff. It’s always nice to see it through someone else’s eyes for the first time.
I enjoyed this video, actually, I enjoy all of your videos. You all have so much fun and I love Alisa's sweet spirit and she really enjoys herself. Thanks for taking us on this scenic trip with you guys.
I definitely want to do the Rocky Mountaineer. Will need to be a year or so from now, but cant wait! Loving your hair! I love it short. Can't wait to see the rest of the views! Keep the beautiful views coming.
Hello we always watch your videos. My wife and her mother took this trip the other direction mid October they loved it. We live 3hrs from Banff our claim to fame in Drumheller worlds biggest dinosaur.
VIA Rail Canada does the same route between Vancouver and Jasper in historic, spotlessly clean 1954 silver rail cars, the scenery is the same rivers shown here and similar mountain scenery as on the southern Banff route as you get towards Jasper. No luxury, but the food is good and prices are a fraction of the RM. Tour and express buses run all summer along the 300 km / 200 mile long and world-famous Icefields Parkway highway between Jasper and Banff, or you can rent a car. Calgary airport is 150 km / 90 miles from Banff with good airporter bus connections, and there are lots of small and large day trip tour operators throughout the region.
Just catching up on this part of your trip. Amazing!!! The Rocky Mountaineer has been HIGH on my bucket list, especially after visiting Banff ... been dying to get back to that area. Your whole day looked so lovely and relaxing ... taking in the sights and delicious food with your love, doesn't get much better. Thanks for sharing!
What an awesome trip to take. I agree on the comment about your hair. It looks very flattering on you. Y’all are so fun to watch. Keep the videos coming. 😁
Welcome to some of the most beautiful parts of Canada!!!! (Eastern Canada is equally beautiful as well) Japser is in my backyard and we spend most of our free time enjoying the wonderful nature we have around us. I can't wait to hear your thoughts on Banff, Jasper and the majestic mountains of Alberta. Kelowna area is fun with many things to do there. The weather there makes it a great summer destination for many travelers. I can't wait to see more of your videos about this trip!!!!
Hi from 🏴 Probably the best review of The Rocky Mountaineer. Once our three boys are grown up and thrown out the house this is definitely on our bucket list 😊
So glad you got a chance to do this trip, it is truly amazing! I have driven that route many many times, and it is beautiful. Haven't been on the train (out of my price range!) but maybe one day. This is a great way to start your train travels, it really is downhill from here on in - the regular train is nothing like this - good but not this caliber of travel. Enjoy looking forward to next video.
I know both provinces inside and out, and it surprises many people that in the Fraser River Canyon, river level averaging 500 feet above sea level, Skihist and Stein Mountains just west of Lytton reach 9660 feet and 9010 feet, a vertical rise of 9000 feet and 8500 feet, both visible from the Trans Canada Highway on the cliffs above but not the train at river level. Only Mt Robson, Mt Goodsir in Yoho Park and some peaks on the west side of the Columbia Icefield exceed this in the Rockies, but yes, there are endless extremely rugged ranges of peaks everywhere else, most averaging 5000-7000 feet above the valleys, and 9,000-11,000 feet or more above sea level. It is a uniquely Canadian thing that there is so much rivalry and even animosity between the provinces in Canada, something foreign to most international visitors.
Can’t wait for the next video. Pics I see of Lake Louise and Banff are just jaw dropping. The hotels offered are amazing too. Not sure the Fairmonts are still offered, but that’s where I wanna stay if they are! 😊
I really enjoyed this video. I am Canadian and have made the trip from Vancouver to Lake Louise by car. I checked out the pricing for the trip and it seems a little high on a per night basis but for those who can afford it, go for it.
Wow what a great trip! Stunning views and great food. Loving all your videos, you have had some of the best traveling videos, amazing journeys this year. Thanks for sharing.
Love this. I have been to Banff and Lake Louise several times in ski trips. Banff Springs Hotel is worth a visit and well as the Chateau Lake Louise. Be careful you don’t walk out of the hotel into a moose! Love the video.
Thank you so much for your travel vlogs. My husband and I will be doing that exact train ride but in reverse in September this year followed by the 7 day Alaskan cruise on the Encore and I am super excited because I’ve watched a vast majority of our upcoming holiday through you.
I love that you are doing other types of travel. Don't get me wrong, I love the cruises but this was really fun. I've never traveled in anything but a car. I would love to do a train trip or a cruise.
Fantastic video...your editing has really come a long way..great job guys..enjoyed every minute..I didn't think you guys could get much better at this but boy I was wrong..Outstanding
Travelled many times on VIA from Montreal to Vancouver/ vice versa, and twice on the Rocky to Banff and back. The scenery and the whole experience was breathtaking. So glad you got to see it. Next you need to drive on the Icefields Parkway. Spectacular!!!! Love your vlogs guys, look forward to them...👍😁❤️❤️❤️❤️
Really enjoying your Canadian tour. The food does look amazing. That's like an Orient Express train for reals.btw what you called the small mountains 🤣🤣🤣 those are actually called Foothills my dears. Just like in Colorado Rocky mountains. I shouldn't laugh you guys are from La. So totally understandable I now live in Florida so flat as pancake compared to my home state Colorado. Thanks again for sharing safe and happy travels 🥰✌️

Rocky Mountaineer serves Calgary now?
