to say the Rocky Mountaineer was a total dream come true is such an understatement! This is one of those huge 'pinch me' moments for us - and we are BEYOND grateful that we were able to experience this world class train on its first trip of the 2023 season!! I think we are officially obsessed with Train Travel now so we want a list - what's the BEST train you've ever been on?!🚂
Switzerland and Scotland are so beautiful by train - hope to see your fantastic photography on those journeys in future! Great to see you on this trip and amazing partnership to have been offered! Your excitement on this one is very contagious! 😊

We did this journey 5 years ago from Vancouver to Jasper. Your video brought back all the lovely memories 😍 We extended our trip - 2 nights in Jasper, hired a car and drove the Icefields Parkway, 2 nights Lake Louise, 2 nights Banff, then 2 nights Calgary before coming home to Australia. One of our best travel experiences ever. Glad you enjoyed it 😊
This is the first time I am watching your channel and I am already in love with Emily. She is so adorable and excited about every little thing life offers.!! XD
A truly special arrangement for a night in a hotel instead of on the train. The route designer knows that every traveler on this train will not want to miss any beautiful views along the way. As a result, sleeping overnight in the hotel is the smartest and most correct decision. Thanks for the great video.
We took the Rocky Mountaineer from Vancouver to Banff. It was the greatest scenic wilderness I have ever seen. Going through the Rocky Mountains was awesome I highly recommend this trip of a lifetime.
"Hello" from Prince Edward Island, Canada🍁. I loved this video. Your unbridled enthusiasm for our Rocky Mountaineer was great fun to watch. You make me very proud of our train, and my Country. Thank you.
I absolutely love your country and you all have so very much to be proud of! My husband and I are very much looking forward to taking this trip sometime in the next few years. Americans are very lucky to have such amazing neighbors!
Hey Emily & Jordon we enjoyed your video. It was really well done which showed all of the aspects of this train adventure. We have booked the Gold Leaf Grand Circle Tour this summer for 14 days. We felt as if we were already there with you on your journey. Thanks for this excellent preview of the Rocky Mountaineer Railroad experience!
What an amazing experience you both had. To see you both excited about this trip makes me very happy. There’s no way you could fault this trip, the staff, the meals, snacks, cocktails, views, the service, especially the little things like not having to worry about your luggage & to have it “magically” be in your room all seem to be flawless & considerate. The meals looked so delicious, proud of you Jordan for having the Dungeness crab, that was one thing I couldn’t wait to have when we were in Canada a few months ago. As you know many years ago we took the Rocky Mountaineer from Whistler to Vancouver but unfortunately we weren’t in gold leaf as it was a shortish trip. This is where I fell in love with train travel. I think dad & I are going to have to go back to Canada & go on the Rocky Mountaineer again but in gold leaf next time & perhaps when it’s snowing. I think I’ll be watching this one again, absolutely loved it. Miss you both, love you, mum.xx 💕💕🚉
This made me so happy to see your enjoyment. We did this trip in 2019 and did gold leaf. It was amazing and the organisation from the staff was fantastic as well as the quality of food and all of the information they give you. Truly a fabulous trip.

@@JordanandEmily helloooo!!! So, we had overall a GREAT time on the Rocky Mountaineer - we’re back in the UK now, after what has been the trip of a lifetime! The train is the most gloriously luxurious way to travel into the Rockies, we could not fault it one bit! There were only three things that marred our whole experience, none of which are the fault of the RM or its fantastic staff. In no particular order: 1) my brand new DSLR camera irrevocably packed up about one hour before reaching Kamloops 😭😭 I’d bought it only two days before, specifically for this trip, having weighed up the pros and cons of only having an iPhone with me. 2) We had a group of super noisy fellow passengers in our carriage, who did not stop talking/yelling literally the entire journey. We were in the same dining schedule as them too, which made the dining carriage almost unbearably loud. Being a non-stop train, we didn’t have the option to move to a different carriage, though I guess we could have asked once we were at Kamloops, but I was focussed on my busted camera to think of it. And 3), and this might sounds super pernickety, but on both days, it was several hours before we saw any real “scenery”… especially on day two, having left Kamloops at 7am, it was at least 1pm before we saw our first mountain, and between then and about 4pm, most of the spectacular views were obscured by trees. A couple of fellow travel losers said the same; we were like, “AITA for thinking this? Like, are we behaving like over-privileged children here?” Maybe we were, and we DEFINITELY didn’t want to sound like the worst Trip Adviser reviewers, but we really felt like the second day especially was unnecessarily long, given there’s not much to see. We figured it must be due to the length of time it takes to seat/feed everyone (utterly GORGEOUS food, btw), so I’m absolutely not going to count this as a negative thing against the RM team, who were utterly wonderful the entire time. So, our overall experience was that we were really, really glad to have had the experience, we feel incredibly lucky to have been able to afford to go (well, not actually “lucky” as such, my partner had an insurance payout after a serious health diagnosis, so… 🥺). We felt that, overall, it might have been just as great an adventure to have self-driven. Didn’t mean for this to be such a full review, couldn’t help myself 😂❤️

We had actually just finished a van trip through Canada (the vlogs are on our channel!) After the Train we spent the night in Banff then fought a bus to Calgary, which is the closest airport, and got a flight over to Toronto 😊
Would love to try this one day if the price goes down. I was lucky enough to do the Via trip from Ontario to Vancouver with my brother in 2014. We had the sleeper cabins for $750 CAD each. It is now around $6000 CAD for 2 people. I would recommend the Via trip instead as it has everything the Rocky Mountanieer has to offer with the addition of getting to sleep in the train - It literally rocks you sleep like you're an adult in a cradle. Some of the best sleep I've ever had. And a 4 day trip I will never forget. B.C was by far the best part. Ontario is also beautiful. Rest is flat and open!
Thanks for seeing this journey, its’ on our bucket list. But as a Canadian I’m not sure it’s affordability. I think it’s mostly affordable for tourist.
Great vid! Just checked the ticket and wow is it pricey! 100 CAD flight Calgary to Vancouver but 3000 CAD to train it back to Banff! Several weeks in Cuba may be my choice this year.
I'm Sold.. booking with Fresh Tracks and then going back into the Rockies for a few days.. I may never leave there. Thanks for pushing it over the edge for me.. Gold Leaf all the way.. simply bc of the upper dome.. no doubt worth every nickel right?
what month was this trip taken? My TA did this last June and recommends it. I am watching the UA-cam videos for info (yours was most recent so I watched yours first-thanks for the video!

Hi there! No worries at all! For this Journey we were lucky enough to partner with the Rocky mountaineer but we only ever parter with companies that allow us to say the truth! All of the excitement is just for the years of selling the journey to customers when I was a travel agent 😄
We were on the very first departure of the year! I'm not sure if that was why we got so lucky or whether it was because they were also training new staff on the train!
Can you tell me how many days this trip was? what month you went (so I know if we will see snow) and were the seats assigned on the train in the gold leaf section? Thanks...I am trying to plan a trip for 2024

Yay! Super cool video! You've convinced us to do this one day! ....when we can afford it... ;) haha
Iiiits worth it! Safe to say it won't be our last time on board!
Wow this is the first RM video I've seen where it wasn't completely full! Looks better this way. I want to make the trip so bad!
Thanks! We got really lucky with it, it was incredible!
We definitely would like to try that Via rail option one day! Would be good to compare!
I took this trip. It was wonderful.
truly such a spectacular trip!
Really great video you two!
Thanks so much! 😀 had the best time!
What a great video! ❤❤❤❤
Thanks so much! we're glad you liked it because we certainly liked making it! 😄
Thanks for seeing this journey, its’ on our bucket list. But as a Canadian I’m not sure it’s affordability. I think it’s mostly affordable for tourist.
We can understand that. We think the same about the trains back home in Australia!
Thanks for the video
Thanks for watching 😀
Isn't Canada heaven? Isn't everything so perfect and happy in Canada? Canada has literally every greatest thing in the world!
😄 it's a pretty magical place! I'll give you that!
@@JordanandEmily how magical is it?
@@jamesm6862 honestly amazing 😄 10/10 magical
@@JordanandEmily it is much better than USA?
@@jamesm6862 I think they both have some pretty good parts!
Thank you for a great video! Were you using the same camera for all your footage? The quality is amazing.
Thanks so much 😊 yeah we only use the one at the moment! It's the a6400
Great vid! Just checked the ticket and wow is it pricey! 100 CAD flight Calgary to Vancouver but 3000 CAD to train it back to Banff! Several weeks in Cuba may be my choice this year.
It's not a cheap experience but it's amazing. To be honest, having an extended time in Cuba sounds incredible haha
Thank you
Thanks for watching! 😊
Love Rocky mountain trains 🚆 best one in Alberta.
Completely agree! One of the best in the world in our opinion!
I rode in a Santa Fe train from Wichita to California in 1959 and it had a dome car and dinning car on the southern route
it just makes a train 10x better!
Me gusta ver sus videos que emocion
😊 thank you!
I'm Sold.. booking with Fresh Tracks and then going back into the Rockies for a few days.. I may never leave there. Thanks for pushing it over the edge for me.. Gold Leaf all the way.. simply bc of the upper dome.. no doubt worth every nickel right?
100% - it's a once in a lifetime adventure! Enjoy yourself!
I am from POLLACHI Tamil Nadu State INDIA.i like this train
It’s cool!
You guys are sweet. Liked and subscribed 👍😁
Thanks so much! 😊
About to go this Saturday, can't wait. Worried about the fires in Kamloops so we shall see. What was the actual dates that you went?
You're going to have the best time! We left mid April, I think it was April 14th-ish 😄
both kamloops and jasper we had too much food on the train, and needed only a light snack for dinner, we did walk around kamloops.
We can definitely relate 😄 endless food, snacks and drinks! Glorious!
what month was this trip taken? My TA did this last June and recommends it. I am watching the UA-cam videos for info (yours was most recent so I watched yours first-thanks for the video!
We were on the first trip this year - departed Vancouver April 17th ☺️

I did this last year! Same class. We did the first passage to the west route.
It must have been great!? Can't imagine the Rocky Mountaineer ever being anything less than amazing!
@@JordanandEmily : It was! Lots of pictures. I may want to try the route here in the States next.
Great review we are on the Rocky m week after next it looks as good if not better than the orient express for the cuisine.
You will love it! If you're a fan of steak you really can't go wrong! 😀
Definitely very beautiful - but is this an advert for the train, or did you pay yourself ? And what did you pay, if I may ask.
Just curious…
Hi there! No worries at all!
For this Journey we were lucky enough to partner with the Rocky mountaineer but we only ever parter with companies that allow us to say the truth! All of the excitement is just for the years of selling the journey to customers when I was a travel agent 😄
What time of year did you go, please? As I like the idea the train wasn’t full!
We were on the very first departure of the year! I'm not sure if that was why we got so lucky or whether it was because they were also training new staff on the train!
amazing
😊 Thank you!
Does the RM accommodate wheelchair passengers? It would be a bucket list dream for me and my son. I used to work for a railroad.
Hi there, they definitely do! Even if your in gold leaf there's an elevator for complete wheelchair access!
Enjoyed very much
Come Downunder and do the Indian Pacific from Sydney tp Perth and The Ghan from Adelaide to Darwin
Believe us, it's on the list for sure! 😄 can't wait to see more of Australia!
@@JordanandEmily awesome it's great but not as great as what you showed me om the Rocky Trip
Jordan!!!!!! 🥰🇺🇸🇹🇭🫵🏻❤️
best part of the video!! 😍
Can you tell me how many days this trip was? what month you went (so I know if we will see snow) and were the seats assigned on the train in the gold leaf section? Thanks...I am trying to plan a trip for 2024
Sure thing! This was a 2 day, 1 night journey and we went on the first trip of the year which was in mid April!
@@JordanandEmily did you do any tours? if so were they on your own or escorted tours? thanks
@@vanessabaker7294 no tours off the train on this journey! Most of the stuff we did in the region was DIY like renting a van for a week!
Ah may zing
😊 Thank you!
Loved your video, showed all the sites and amenities. Only problem I had was hearing you talk over the back ground music . .
Oh good to know! We didn't realise 😀 Thanks for letting us know!
So let me see now, non-stop eating and drinking and mostly sitting down ? Sounds like my retirement🙂
Right!? What a life! 😄
Great video! Where did you get that backpack?
Thanks! 😊 we just picked up the backpack from a local Kmart 😄

Quick question- is the hotel included with the Gold Leaf?
Yeah! With gold leaf and silver leaf the hotel is included! 😀
@@JordanandEmily thank you, that’s amazing.
How do we book the trip? Through which travel company? How much did it cost?
Hello! All rocky mountaineer and you can book direct on their website!
Does the Train have passage priority over freight trains? I have heard not.
We had to hold in place for a few minutes for freight trains! But that just meant more time in luxury for us 😄
@@JordanandEmily i have a friend who took the train about ten years ago, Calgary to Vancouver. Numerous waiting on sodings for freight trains. Late getting as far as Kamloops so were pit on a bus to Vancouver and east bound passengers arrived on that bus.
If i were to take this same trip, what would be the cost? Is this a round trip ride, or do you have to drive or fly back to where you started?
Hello! It's point to point so you'd be fending for yourself in Banff if you wanted to book flights back!
The cost is around $2100 CAD but the most up to date info would be on their website 😀 hope this helps!
