Here is the update on this Cactus now in multiple bloom 2015 : • My 6ft tall Trichocere...
Here is a short video of my Trichocerus Pachanoi cactus blooming for the first time ever :-) I first bought this plant over 15 years ago when it was just 3 inches high and now it is over 5ft 5" high.
The flower is OUTSTANDING with an incredible scent. I am so HAPPY to be able to share it with you :-)

i have got 1 of these cacti its nearly 6ft high with lots of babys i have 5 flowers out nearly over and 6 more flower to come on the smaller ones they live in my greenhouse . i was given mine by an elderly gentleman it flowered when he had it and has flowered every year since i have had it i love it

I remember back around 2004 I got my first flower on my biggest San Pedro. It was a real delight to see and smell. I had started sprinkling a bit of kelp meal on top of the soil not long before this happened. I might be telling you something you already know here. Yesterday I watched a video about how to make your cacti bloom abundantly and it seemed that a very important thing she did was using a tomato bloom fertilizer. I looked up the brand she was using and it contains kelp with NPK numbers 4-3-8. It looks like it is easy for you to obtain in England, but it is expensive to ship to the USA where I live. It is called Tomorrow. She had lots of beautiful blooms.
Ha ha I now went back and watched her video and heard her say she got the tip from you

Mine's just flowered today. It's the first time I've ever seen it! This one is the great, great grandchild of one I bought 13 years ago. Maybe only 5 years old I guess.

15 yr old s-pedro it's cool watching them grow,i have a 40 yr old San Pedro,i planted from a stump 4 in tall,and it has grown 7 feet tall and 21 stocks,5 to 7 feet each,and it was very hard for me to cut it down to 8 inchs all the stocks,now it's a big ugly stump,but every stump has new buttons growing some have more than one,i planted all the cutoff stocks and they grew new buttons also, so I have many growing,it was worth cutting the original,but after watching it grow,40 yrs,every cut was like murder,l.
WOW 40 years is a long time and sometimes we have to cut them back for practicality but thats wonderful it has pupped out with buttons and you were able to propagate the cuttings :-D XXXXXXX

Thanks so much for your LOVELY comment :-) although I have had this plant many years this was the first time it bloomed :-) The one thing I did different was overwintering it in a cool but sunny conservatory with no heating at all keeping the soil bone dry, I noticed that a lot of my cacti bloomed this year compared to most summers, + i think this had a lot to do with it :-) I'm sure they will flower for you + when they do you will be amazed. +Orchids & a Dutchy Thanks so much Andrea for your wonderful comment :-) its amazing how this big boy has grown over the years, the flowers are remarkable on this big cactus fella, and they smell so wonderful like a Jasmine scent, the whole house smelt like the most wonderful perfume on earth :-) The only sad thing about these cacti is the flowers only last for a day at the very most but still so amazing to see their beauty :-) Thanks so much for watching and sending you and cutie Hugo tons of love from across the Emerald Isle for a wonderful day and weekend ahead XXXX
Hi there great video my San Pedro which I bought many moons ago, has just flowered today for the first time to! (might be their natural cycle to bloom at this time of the year), Mine is a little taller though standing about seven foot. I had to graft the top back on a few years ago after it fell over. Peace and Love x
