@@tesslacali8655 I got them in a 4 inch pot … less than 2' tall in summer of 2011. They can first be seen in the background on the cactus hoarder garden tour videos in 2014. I think they did much better when I put them in the ground. I think they want to root deeply. ^^ The first flowers are the ones here in 2018.
Wow! Cool man thanks, I’m at four years and still happily awaiting a flower like that.just had to bring them in due to the cold weather. Is it patients, and time?
I am not sure exactly what finally helps them begin to flower. If you look through the videos I talked about patiently waiting for about 6 years... ^^ Also... It did not flower until after I stopped protecting it from the cold. I used to bring it in and put out warm lights at the base to "save" it. It might need a little exposure to promote the flowering... not certain. Hope your day is good.
The weather has been mild... not too hot. They open a few hours after sunset on the first night. The second night they open fully and the third night they are still there but starting to wilt. The bees seem to love them ^^ Thanks for watching!
Hi, just found your video! My cactus bloomed today for the first time. We’ve had it for 28 years!!
I enjoyed my time with you yesterday Hank! Your cactus collection is amazing as well as your secret garden. I look forward to my next visit with you.
Thank you. You are welcome to take cuttings from that big trumpet flower. ^^ Hope your day is really good.
Lovely flowers. After they fall off you should make a concoction and go on a spiritual journey. Let that baby keep spreading wonder and beauty!
