  • In this video I take on some preventative maintenance to the cooling system of the C30. P1 cars are prone to cracking radiator hoses that can cause overheating and severe engine damage due to overheating. This is especially more common in Automatic vehicles. For anyone with a p1 volvo, given their age at this time this is service is a MUST DO if you want your vehicle to last.
I ordered all of the parts used in the video from www.ipdusa.com. Be sure to specify automatic or manual when ordering these parts as they are very different.
Service for the radiator hoses and coolant flush was completed at Matt's Imports in Cypress, CA. Matt's Imports is simply the best customer service and quality of work you can get for you volvo, I do not take my car anywhere else. The shop works on all types of vehicles but specializes in Volvo and Mercedes, and has 5 stars on Yelp.

I was able to find a hidden gem of a Banh Mi Sandwich at Sandwich House also located in Cypress. For all of my foodies, this place is excellent and VERY affordable! On top of excellent food, this place had incredible customer service and also has 5 stars on Yelp.

Overall I was really happy with the upgraded hoses, fluid, and coolant tank. Just be ready if you're trying to take this job on your own, it is quite notorious for being very difficult and frustrating.

Is it OK to use a OEM green volvo cool and that’s what I ordered for mine because it had green it before but I got that instead of the oem blue

This was very confusing for me... I have heard mixed answers as to whether people use blue or green coolant. I currently have blue coolant in mine but have seen others with green. I would stick to whatever is in your car currently, unless you plan on doing a complete flush to change the color

@@AmrinDosanjh The blue Volvo coolant is known as G-48 coolant. It's the same coolant that BMW/Mini used until the 2019 model year and VW cars before 1996 except VW calls it G11. Volvo used this coolant until around the 2015 model year. Until it's been replaced by another coolant which is green same with BMW,the new coolant that BMW uses is also green. I need to research what coolant is that though.

Hey, if its no secret, how much did u pay for the installation at your place? Might make a trip there (I'm north of LA).
I just don't feel comfortable doing it all myself lol (especially cus I have a few other things to tackle on the car rn)

I'm not in the LA area (so, won't be going to Matt's), but it would be good to know how much you paid for the hose replacement so that I have a basis for comparison.
