    The street surroundings do not detract, on the contrary, they add a backdrop of the real world in which you work to bring order and cleanliness to your small corner of it. Enjoying your vids and dry commentary, keep at it.

    Just switched from a V50 to a MKIII Focus and am yet to tackle that (dealer actually did a decent job on the interior gasp!) but I can tell you that compared to my wife’s Peugeot, Volvo carpet is a dream to work on. The Peugeot stuff is more like a hairy version of a washing up scouring pad, vacuuming does nothing, brushing does nothing. Key to the Volvo carpet is to do it regularly and not let it accumulate, switch between a crevice tool, brush and upholstery tool and if you have a decent wet/dry vac with a blower function it will help to loosen anything that doesn’t want to be sucked up. Genuine Volvo rubber mats are a must, really good quality and not expensive, I paid £35 for a set of 4 from a dealership.

    +1 on the sprayer issue, they are pretty feeble and I tend to move on though, but not before complaining! on the seat with the liquid leather, if the car has heated seats fire them up and let the product soak in, repeat a couple of times for true feeding of the leather

    You have such a calm and collected voice. I’ve thought about offering what’s called a Panel Remove Clean. Remove the sill plates, remove the seats, any panel that easily comes off or out and of course this would be at a premium but what are your thoughts? Given that I also own a Car Audio shop we are very familiar with removing panels and such.

    • @Slamdoxicalz
      @Slamdoxicalz 7 років тому

      I do that with new purchases, remove panels and clean inbetween. Sometimes there's lots of dust behind a panel but small gaps collect a lot of hard to reach filth too

    Great video, love the detail and the effort you make to show us each element. Do you use a standard household vacuum? Noticed that the upolstery brush was much less stiff bristled than the ones you usually get with home vacs. You also inspire confidence, I get nervous about applying too much cleaner to seats, buttons and those little screens in the dash. Finally have to agree that carpet may last but looks more like it should be a boot mat than in the cabin. Ttanks for sharing

  • @hermanmunster3358
    @hermanmunster3358 5 років тому

    That non leather material on the seats is called "T-Tec" I think. At least on other R-Design models it is anyway. But it has a reputation for wearing and tearing away from the leather, especially for the fatter arsed owners of R-Design cars. But you being more athletically built, might escape that nightmare. But me being a more hefty build, avoided the R-Design V50, and went for an SE model instead, with full leather seats, which should outlast my ownership of the car.
    I plan on moving up to a V70 after a couple of years of ragging this compact D5 estate around, as it is a tad small for my needs. But great fun to drive nonetheless. So I will have my fun, and pass it on for the next first time Volvo owner presumably.
    I love your C30 btw, and if I didn't need a load lugger, would definitely have considered one.

      Pretty solid, although this one I have isn't anywhere near as solid as the Volvo's of old.
