Great video! ❤ I love 'til tuesday and Aimee. Finally some recognition for them! I wish some of their unreleased stuff before Voices Carry would've gotten released. The funky new wave stuff from them is my fave.

Loved Till Tuesday back in the day. You know the rest, Don't watch me bleed, Love in a vacuum. Great memories and Music in the 80s. Rocking all black clothing and listening to Jody watley, Till Tuesday, Flock of seagulls, Human League.😊

I saw Aimee Mann in November 2024, incredible. She’s still got kick and funny as she’s electric.
“On Sunday” is my favorite song of all time!
And I love ‘til Tuesday’s unreleased songs; Boy, Enough to Save You, Just Like Me, When He Puts His Head Down, Learning You By Heart.
I’ve heard they’re getting back together May 2025 in California.

'Lost in Space' is my favorite album of all time. Just saying. (BTW, I never knew Aimee Mann was in a band before her solo career, until I stumbled across 'voices carry'. I don't think 'Til Tuesday was that big here in the UK)

Pesce is Italian, so it’s pronounced Pesh-ee. Also, Jules is not Joo-les, but just Jools, like in the song. Been a fan of TIl Tuesday since the first album came out when I was in high school. Aimee has never been a real strong singer, but her harmonies are pretty, and her lyrics became far cleverer and well crafted in later years.

Robert Holmes kind of ruined Til' Tuesday for me. I know that sounds harsh BUT I started getting into them because I loved Voices Carry and because their styles were just too fantastic and I especially loved the androgynous look of Robert Holmes. However looking him up online I quickly found he's a raging Twitter transphobe. As a queer person there's no way for me I'll be supporting someone who essentially,, hates me :(
Also, impressed that Jules Shear got a mention here because I personally went down a rabbithole recently, finding out that The Hooters were the main recording musicians on Cyndi Lauper's She's So Unusual, as well as writers for one song, (one of the biggest on the album) Time After Time. This also includes Hooters' Rob Hyman singing the background vocals on the Shear-written All Through The Night!

Oh wow I didn’t know that about Holmes, quite a shame. I didn’t know that band played on Cyndi Laupers record, that’s awesome! I actually saw her live last month she was great

Is this a video about interpretation as in meaning? If so, that's a dead end.... unless, I suppose you're a teen talking to other teens, cause being a teen is all about vocalizing what something means in spite of what it actually means. Interpreting meaning to songs, in specific ways is a dead end. What do I mean? Well... interpret the meaning of Jimi's "All Along the Watch Tower". It's futile to identify a specific meaning, cause lyrics dont lend to such interpretations. Sure, there are thematic interpretations and that can be identified, but diving into specifics is pointless because the interpretation is about YOU, not the art. Great interpretation is about human nature, and if you wanna make a channel about "music" without knowing music & writing, then you need to be grounded in the art of human nature, and that, my friend, takes A LOT of reading.... and I mean A SHIT TON across many disciplines. This particular song, while meaningful in a sympathetic way, doesnt really saying anything meaningful. Like really? She stands up in the stuffy art event singing the chorus and that's supposed to be liberation? Absent the video, I would argue the song doesnt resolve. And if you insist that interpretation can be resolved, then it's pretty clear to me what the song is about: the raping nature of capitalism.
