- The Battleship North Carolina
Battleship NORTH CAROLINA participated in every major naval offensive in the Pacific theater of operations during World War II, earning 15 battle stars. This authentically restored National Historic Landmark proudly serves as her State’s World War II Memorial to the 11,000+ North Carolinians who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Moored across from historic downtown Wilmington, the Battleship welcomes visitors daily. Plot your own course as you explore nine levels, climb inside gun turrets, marvel at early computers, and see where the crew ate, slept, and worked. Crew stories throughout the Ship introduce you to the 2,000 young men who called the Showboat home.
Encircling the Ship, the State Employees Credit Union (SECU) Walkway provides an opportunity to appreciate her majesty and power. Enjoy a picnic in Battleship Park or savor a meal in Wilmington. And take a piece of her home from the Battleship Steel Collection!

Absolutely I did
@josephcordero1058 Thank you so much I really appreciate it
Been going aboard her since I was a little boy. I'm 62 now and still get a thrill out of seeing my lady.
I'm so glad I just got to go see her for my 1st time but I'm hoping I'll be going for many years to come
I appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment on my video
@@GrampsWizarding this lady means a whole lot to me. She is probably one of the reasons I went into the Navy. My mom stood on the banks of the Cape Fear River when she was brought into moor where she is today. I think it was 1962, right before my parents adopted me. And thank you for the video.
That’s really cool
GONE BUT NOT NEVER FORGET USMC
@@larryshaw5643 💯 agree
Nice video
@@Super-Coasters thanks 😊
They had a garbage grinder? My cousin went to Afghanistan where they had burn pits to get rid of everything. He died of brain cancer from working the burn pits.
Sorry to heat that

Toured her once when i was no more than eight or nine..my parents took ne on vacation with them. I remember thinking that it was so large that it was almost scary, but i learned just what a beautiful old ship it was. Damn, i wish they still made Battleships like that.
That's a great story I ❤️ hearing that ... I agree it's the day of the Aircraft Carrier and cruisers but one day they might be un mothballed
