Yeah, I remember you.
Nice name.
Finest singer of all time.
I remember when my dad gave me machine Head in 73 and I rocked out to every single song on this album. My dad was a medical student then. He passed away in 2013. I always thought how wonderful that my dad knew my taste in music.
The Riff that launched a million guitarists!
Excellent. Takes me back to my adolescence, dancing to the transistor radio in my bedroom. Truly excellent. Now I'm old, spend most of the day in bed, but this has me dancing.
I don't care what anyone says, these old analogue recordings sound 10 x better than the modern digital ones Made In Japan, Live and Dangerous, Rainbow On Stage etc.
The confidence, swagger, and intensity when they played live is obvious in how they looked, acted, and sounded. They knew they were creating something unique and amazing right in front of the eyes of the world. They were living legends whose star was getting brighter each passing day. Their place in music history was cemented long ago.
Deep Purple FOREVER!!!!!
Tggghbbjjkllll
the best deep purple u would ever hear. live in Japan. MASTERPIECE
Been a fan ever since 1972!
Ian Paice- one of the all time great drummers
Nothing can nor ever will compare to the 70s music!
The 60s music.
Ive been waiting to see this forever! Its simply amazing. A religious experience
Iconic song in the history of rock music ...
When I was 10 in 1974 my best friend asked me to come to his house. He played this track on his dads LP.....I was amazed. And even today nearly 50 years later my heart resides in those times. Growing up and it's music. Lucky me?!
That drummer was ahead of his time. Great drummer, great band
I could recall way back in those good olden days during a Chemistry class in my high school when the teacher was telling the students about a liquid chemical solution that had the color of dark purple. One of the students exclaimed, "Deep Purple" and the class cheered, clapped, and roared in laughter. 🙃🤣
LOL!! And had detention and the cane !! Good old days ☺☺☺
Smoke on the water. It will never get old. That’s real music. Real Vibe.
The best band with the best guitar player
what a tremendous drummer IAN PAICE was and is!
The best song, the best group, the best MK, one & only one Deep Purple! Thank you for all 50 years!
sorry Vladimir the best MK was Mk 6 with Joe Satriani on guitar, but that was a short time and second best Mk is Mk7 with Steve Morse (he play a lot longer than Ritchie in Band and help her no dissapear from music scene)

Love that beefy Hammond organ! R.I.P Jon Lord!!!
One of the best guitar riffs the world will ever witness or have.

Best song ever
I came home one day and this album was laying on my bed. Don't know who put it there for me to this day 48 years later. Thanks hand of fate.
My first rock album. I had plenty of soul and r and b albums but this was my first rock album. Blasted it so loud my neighbors called my mom. Great times
Made in Japan.
Their best album and one of the top live albums of all time.
I seen Deep Purple the first time in Chicago in the real early 70s. I had a car when I was 16 and three friends and I made the TRIP. If you know what I mean. GREAT Concert..
Deep Purple, simply the best rock group of the millennium !
Finally we saw a bit of this amazing concert .... I was lucky enough to know the music of purple made in japan ... just through a unique experience.
🤦♂️
Was thirteen years old when I bought this album. Wow, so many memories. And love them still!
The theme for all rockers!!
Long live Deep Purple !!.
from japan !。
very good concert

1974 , my dorm faced the boys dorm. One late hot afternoon I notice the guys were rigging these gigantic speakers in two of the boys dorm windows around eight stories high. I joined the crowd of kids watching this odd thing. And then WOW!!! Smoke On The Water drummed it’s way into my heart. Pure joy.
No overdubs, no re-recording, no studio takes. Just taken live. The best live album ever: Made in Japan.
TOP6
великие...
ROCK GODS !!! They all rocked it and Ian ‘s vocals out of this world ...genius !!
The day I was born!..8/17/72!!..8:42 at night..I was probably literally being born while this was recording!..cool!!

И Burn, Smoke on the water, Child in time, Never before, Black night - очевидный плагиат.
Smoke on the whater, Burn, Child in time - все это не один в один, но это украдено, и не важно были ли рады авторы первоисточника или нет.
Never before - это Good times bad times от Led Zeppelin.

I was there at the August 1972 concert at the Budokan and the concert was really great! I was an Air Force brat and several of my friends and I attended this concert. I sat about 12 rows directly in front of Ritchie Blackmore and got a great view of his guitar work. BUT this is not the video or audio from that 1972 concert. I remember the Smoke On The Water performance and this is not it. Maybe this is the video from their 1973 concert at the Budokan??? Anyway, this is a great clip, but not the 1972 performance.
+Morgan Lindsey
This is definitely the 72 Budokan audio & film footage. Search for "Deep Purple Live in Japan August 17 1972" and you'll hear it's the same. Are you sure it was the 72 Budokan gig that you saw?
+NormanZavlandid1066 Yes...I had just graduated high-school in 1972 at Johnson Air Base and several of my friends and I attended this August concert at the Budokan. I clearly remember Blackmore's into to "Smoke on the Water", and he didn't do it this way. Also, he stood in front of his one Marshall stack (not 2 like in this video) and shook his hips back and forth like Elvis would have done it. DP did play the next summer in Tokyo, but I didn't attend the 1973 concert. BTW..at the end of the 1973 concert, DP wouldn't return to do an encore song and the crowd erupted in a riot, and DP cancelled the rest of their Japan tour.
+Morgan Lindsey
It seems, to me, like it's your memory letting you down. As I said, this is definitely the 72 Budokan audio & film footage. Do a UA-cam search for "Deep Purple Live in Japan August 17 1972" and you'll hear it's the same. That's an official release and taken straight from the master tapes. If you want me to prove it, send me an email address as a personal message through my UA-cam account (to keep it private between you & me) and I'll send you some photos of the 72 & 73 tours showing Blackmore with a double stack in all of them. One other point is that I'm a DP 69-73 bootleg collector and after the Tokyo 73 gig (June 25) I have the audio of the gigs from Osaka (June 27 & June 29). They were going to play a 2nd Budokan gig on the 26th but that was cancelled. In case you're thinking I've got the dates mixed up, they kicked off the Japanese tour in Hroshima (23rd) and then played Nagoya (24th) before playing Tokyo on the 25th.
+NormanZavlandid1066 You sir, are 100% correct, even though my memory has it different. I guess that is why I shouldn't rely on something this old. LOL But this is actually wonderful news to me as I can now relive this great concert from the audio that is available on-line form this show. Take care.
+Morgan Lindsey Lucky man!!!!
Wait for 42 Years.Hope they have one of the three concerts filmed completely. Great. Wonder in which position blackmore plays the Intro.
Guess he would play the intro in the lead pos. -- he's using the 5th/6th strings in 4ths and it would be really bassy and a bit muddy if he was in the neck pos...
THE BEST OF THE BEST !
I rolled a lot of joints on that LP!
hola soy de argentina.long live deep purple.is love forever.thank you for the music.
The one time in his whole life when Ritchie Blackmore smiled...
Great song 🎉🎉🎉
they were one of those bands that just nailed it.the name ,the members names, you couldn't make up in a script.they were bad to the bone.they set a tone for music for years to come
Britain does not seem produce Rock Geniuses like these any more. 60s, 70s and 80s but no more.
although the image is not clear as in other videos of the time, the video is fantastic because we see Deep Purple as they were in live performance: so young, so simple in clothing and movement, no theatrics (Gillan is just weaving his hair left and right) and the music is simple too, just for their amusement, nothing too much, just a song that they could easily play any time of the day, and generally nothing as big and artificial as in todays performances. Even the sign with their name is small and simple.
Mucisians are trying many years to do a song like the Deep Puprle songs, but they cannot. Rock bands don't even manage to play their songs as good as they did, always they overdo it, they play the guitar solos for more time, the play the drums louder, they sing the song screaming, they create a mess. So, long live Deep Purple.
Cheers mate.

LONG LIFE, DEEP PURPLE!!!!!!
Their drummer was increadible. Ian Paice was dope!
John Lawson very underrated for sure
The riff that will NEVER DIE 😉
The Kings of Rock.
And to think in the mid seventies when I was 11 at school I watched from Glion high above Montreux this hotel burn. We got bored to death as it burnt for 10 hours desperately hoping for a giant explosion. My parents bought me Machine Head a few years later. And forty years later Wikipedia told me how this song came about and I made the connection.

@@rez2198 they suck both. No one can touch Gillan in 70'80' 90', He was King of those years. Plant is Good but Ozzy ?? hmm i love Black Sabbath and his single carrer, but personaly i think he is not a good vocalist, anyway just imagine Plant or Ozzy singing Child in Time-for me absolutely impossible, they never be on those level like Gillan.

Oh, man...this makes me feel so old...
great audio quality for a live session from 1972
Amazing footage too
One of the best live bands ever.
My first concert that i went to was deep purple and ELO in 1975 in Detroit, MI.
Jon Lord plays the Hammond without a Leslie because he used to say it makes organ players lazy. He actually sounds like a guitarist playing bar chords with the consecutive fifths. The harshness and brashness of Lord's playing technique was brilliant. His replacement after he sadly passed away tries to maintain Lord's original sound. Lord was the man and the ability to engage with Ritchie Blackmore like dialogue was amazing. Ok They all contributed and the teamwork was a joy to behold.
playing a song live gives you the room to improvise and expand from the studio version and make it bigger and better
I was there when the tour came to Gothenburg Sweden in the hockeyarena scandinavium what a show
