thanks for joining us on this ride and welcome to the channel! You're absolutely right🙏🏼. When I got to the restaurant and had a chance to cool off, I looked back at the whole thing and realized I still had a good time! Like you said, I had fun on the board while recording content, so it all worked out!

hahaha thanks for the kind words homie, it's really appreciated. I'm surprised by how much progress I've made and I'm excited to join yall for a ride down in AP! Hopefully, I'll finally be able to keep up by then. Also, as long as sht doesn't hit the fan here in NYC with PEV regulations, I'm hoping to have a dope DD board with those blue 105 dadbods for that ride!

I completely understand the stress that comes with boarding in the city. I commute all the time to school on my board and the stress is unreal with people being unpredictable. The best we can do is put as much protection on I guess :/

It's definitely stressful navigating a densely populated area where people are so unaware of what they're doing. I just hope that it gets more fun as I "master the board". I do have to mention that I love cruising around at my own pace doing errands and going to restaurants/bars on the board. It completely changes when I'm forced to rush and forced to deal with heavy congestion.
I think you're right, all we can do is just layer on the protection lol. Btw, where do you go to school?

thanks for joining us for the ride! Yea, we have to be responsible on the road when it comes to things like that. Especially in NYC, the next thing that's trying to kill you is right around the corner so you have to "recover" as quickly as possible. I had a really hard time letting it go on this ride so I was pretty quiet and spent time collecting myself between the incident and the bridge. That's kind of why I resumed talking once I got to the bridge ramp

Lol, bro, I feel you. The struggle is real on what to do, go out or stay in. Please don't apologize, I've been complaining about work lately too, and i never do that. Shit just gets hectic and overwhelming at times and UA-cam is our therapy session. It's where we can vent and tell people what's going on in our life. Keep talking to me bro, I'm an ear here for ya.

thanks Weldon, I always appreciate you stopping by. It's unfortunate that's something that keeps surfacing on our content lately. I was a bit too naive when I started the new project at work and I didn't think that I'd be doing 60+ hours per week the last 3 weeks. At the end of the day, I get its a first world problem and that we should be grateful we have jobs that pay the bills and pay for our hobbies. But damn, there's gotta be more to life than just work and sleep lol.

Thanks for joining us for this one as well Jorge! Check out the new OMW Cavalry that everyone is talking about and everyone also seems to love the Meepo Hurricane. I personally have really enjoyed my AT2+ but I don't think the performance is amazing but it does the job. It seems like a great board but I'm not as well versed on boards as I am with Bikes and Scooters. That's why I like having the board, bike and scooter. It's a nice way to change up the riding exeperience!

Love the new camera setup. I did tell you your promotion means less time, not more. I also had been called in to work in my previous job only to have that fire alarm cancelled. If this happens more often (and you haven’t decide to quit over it), you probably just have to find something to do in Manhattan (a restaurant or a store that is only in Manhattan) so your commute isn’t a complete waste of time.

    ⚡️🤟🏽🤟🏽⚡️
I used to ride in the cold unless my hamds and toes were freezin but this winter I've done it less and less lol.
When we move 1 hour forward end of March I will definately be ridin more.
I'm likin the camera setup 👌🏽 similar to what I've see ofher eRid3rs do and I've been plannin to do. Some nice city views.
Time is the real commodity man. Group rides are hella fun but only of the group speed/vibe is similar to your own, if should be about complimentin your fun/joy, not pressure to ride in ways you are not comfortable... at the same time Some pressure to improve as a rider is good, even if that means one group ride per quarter (3months) lol.
There's at least one nutter a month ridin the wrong way unsafely, endangerin lives, slefish *ricks, wth man that guy was insane.
I like this style of video 👌🏽 I'm an introvert too, I just happen to be very loud around people with good vibes sometimes... a lot 😂

thanks for joining us for the ride! I'm taking advantage of the "warmish weather" to get some miles in on the board lol. If it were the usual brutal NYC winter, I'd probably be riding the board a bit less. I just can't wait for spring already, I'm tired of the dark and the layers.
Glad you're enjoying the new settings. I'm trying to take advantage of the versatility of the X3 and catch the fun angles too keep the ride interesting while staying to my style.
I agree with the way you view group rides. In classic NYC fashion, these guys go a bit faster than my current skill level and tend to flow with traffic which is also beyond my skill level. It's probably going to be quite a while before I join them. I'll try to find a smaller ride with more chill folks. There's too many things in NYC trying to wipe you out and I don't want to end up like that guy who had the delivery biker run into him on purpose!

thanks! I definitely felt more comfortable on the board but I'm back down to anxious on it since its been a while I've ridden. I've rotated the cloudwheels back on so I can get used to it for the summer (I'm tired of balancing the air pressure every week even though I haven't used it). All my trips in to the city have been on weekends. Honestly, almost a year in and I'm still not confident handling rush hour in the city on the board. Is this your first eskate and have you skated before? 400 miles isn't a little amount of experience.
I have about that much on my evolve bamboo. I have around 400 on my eskate but also over 1500 miles on onewheels. I'm working up to higher speeds but have it capped of at 20 for now. I'm the payer of the bills so I can't afford to get heavily injured :) You look like you have good control and could keep up on group rides. I feel you too about introverted. I force myself to go on group rides once and a while but they give me little of anxiety.

thanks for joining us for this ride and welcome to the channel David! Apologize for the delayed reply. Back to back illnesses knocked me out for a while so I'm just getting back to work and I'm finally catching up with UA-cam..
This is indeed my first eskateboard. I've never actually ridden one prior to this board. I actually did a whole series called "learning to esk8" when I picked up this board from @drewelia . I don't have any snowboard experience and I haven't skateboarded since high school which was 2 decades ago lol. I do have thousands and thousands of miles on escooters and ebikes but that experience doesn't really translate to this!
I'm in the same position as well, we can't afford to have me out of commission. That's why I tend to ride extremely conservatively and usually stay below 20mph. The only time I feel the need to go faster is when I'm on that bridge and I feel all these delivery people breathing down my neck. I appreciate the kind words about the control btw lol! I feel like like I have a good feel for the board but not enough to keep up with the way folks here in NYC ride. They're quite aggressive and tend to go over 20mph often while weaving in between vehicles. My anxiety would be through the roof trying to keep up with that and I don't really want to do anything that's going to stress me out like that lol. This is my escape from work and my chill time so I'll try to keep it that way.
There is a group ride hosted by @drewelia down in South NJ that I'd love to join. They're always super chill as they navigate the beach front town. The only catch is its 2 hours from where I live and traffic in and out of NYC can make that trip a really long one. But, I'm interested in joining them when the rides resume in the summer!

I feel you on the road conditions. Chicago is just as bad. Nothing worse than rando NEW holes due to the winter weather. Between that and dumb cars not paying attention… yeah, you end up riding on the slow end.

thanks for joining us for this ride and welcome to the channel! My apologies for the delayed response, works been insane the last couple of weeks.
I've heard of stories from some of the folks that I meet in the group rides. I've heard that Chicago is just as bad and can be even worse in some cases because the worst potholes are on the faster roads. I hope the European infrastructure makes it to the US one day. Unfortunately, that might be a tall order with automotive industry lining the pockets of the politicians and lobbying for more "car-centric infrastructure". My worst accident since I started riding PEVs involved me getting doored in the bike lane by a passenger getting out of cab. The crazy thing was I broke my hand as a result of doing evasive maneuvers to not hit the lady exiting the car. As a thanks, she ran and the cab drove off and left me on the side of the road.

      @eyebahnrides  4 місяці тому

it's all good. I really enjoy riding the board so it's going to stay in the rotation. Maybe in the future when work isn't crazy and I have time to record outside of commuting to work, we'll have more videos per week so that theres a bike/scooter/ and board video everyweek. Until then, they'll be in rotation depending on what I can record lol. That's also why there's mostly videos of me navigating my way to and from Manhattan. Since i work 50-60+ hours per week in the office along with WFH hours, it's difficult to record on my days off because the weather has to cooperate and I need to have the free time to record for a few hours. I'm not willing to sacrifice the little time I have with my wife/ family to knock out a video.
In the future, if this channel becomes my full time gig, there will be more options. Until then, I appreciate your patience and the support you give the videos you enjoy!

Hey Ivan, good to see you're making progress on the esk8. Tough enough riding in Manhattan on an escooter, but on an electric board? Man, I tip my hat to you, and wish you continual 🍀
And yeah, I feel your pain with the mopeds going the wrong direction on the bike lanes. Happens alot around my way in Brooklyn, making riding in the streets the more attractive option nowadays.
Thx for pointing out those tolls. I thought they were gonna be installed on the bridges going into Manhattan. I don't drive a car to Manhattan, so not really troublesome on my wallet. However, the concerns you brought up about possible fares on PEVs is something that crossed my mind too...that is, if they become more popular as an alternative to driving a car. Hope that doesn't happen.

Thanks for joining us for this ride Sabaki. Sorry for the late reply, work’s been insane lately. You’re right it’s already pretty difficult on the scooter and ebike, so my confidence to do it on the board is quite low. I haven’t had the heart to do a “weekday rush hour” ride on it yet. You’re right, riding with the cars away from delivery folks on bikes and mopeds is better would be my usual choice. However, I can’t go that fast on the board yet because I’m scared to get speed wobbles at 30mph lol.
The sad thing is, I can see NYC scheming to bill us for riding. They already tax us for just existing 😂

Crack in the road, debris in the road , any number of things . I ended up selling mine . The guy who bought it ended up getting really hurt on it . Something on the road knocked the tire enough to throw him off . So glad i sold it . Ended up buying an e-bike , much larger tires and handlebars to take ahold of . Much, much safer .

Thanks for joining us for this ride as well @stockey! Ebikes are definitely a lot of fun and probably the most comfortable way of getting around (when set up properly). Thankfully, the PEV industry is so diverse there’s a ride for all of us. The only thing I won’t ride now is an EUC. That’s because I got doored by a cab in the bike lane and broke my hand in that crash. I’m not sure I can get rid of that fear so that I can confidently navigate the streets of NYC. @jimjr9143 sorry to hear that happened to you guys. Thanks for joining us for this ride as well! Noted. I’ll keep that in mind for the future! Currently that canners is only used to capture sound because the pov quality is bad ( it’s actually ok but im not proud of the quality). I think a pov shot would be really interesting!

Thanks for joining us for the ride and welcome to the channel! Sorry man, I usually work weekends and get out pretty late. I did ride into the office today. Trying to get more practice in 🙏🏼
