I had a miscarriage in August. My baby passed away at 6 weeks and I passed the tissue and remains at 11 weeks... having 5 weeks of a pregnancy that was not viable was heartbreaking. We are trying again! Prayers for days; my 18 month old son was what kept me going...

Check you progesterone levels after you ovulate. Drs wont test you for this , but its a big reason for early preg loss.

Dear Doctor, am 40 lost a 17 weeks pregnancy because heartbeat stopped. Post mortem says amniotic band syndrome am worried that this does not happen again and I still want to have children. Thanks

I lost a baby at 17 weeks and 5 days.I went to use the restroom and my water broke. I had the NIPT test and I was a low risk. I had to deliver the baby and when I did, it lived for less than 3 minutes. I had no bleeding and no cramping.

That is so sad. I just had my 2 miscarriage with twins this time who died at 10 weeks. I had them at home, just used tea to speed up the process. Had a 7 hour labour. I am so sorry for your loss ❤

I'm in the UK and my doctors won't do an evaluation until I have had three miscarriages in a row. It's so heart breaking, I've had two already 😔 feel so lost. We are trying again.

Hi Dr. Aimee! :) I did a natural embryo transfer and now I am 6.5 weeks pregnant! I did not take progesterone supplementation after ET but I have been regularly monitoring my progesterone levels via blood tests and lately I've seen a decrease. Wondering if I need supplementation. I was consistently around 22ng/ml but in the last two weeks or so its dropped to 16 ng/ml. I also started taking a low does of Levotyroxin around the same time it started dropping. Any correlation there between thyroid meds and progesterone decrease? What is the optimal progesterone level around this time and or at what level would you start prescribing someone with progesterone supplementation?
Progesterone fluctuates from minute to minute I'm very happy with a level of 16. Even if it went down from 22. BUT if you are worried, easy fix!! just take progesterone 100 mg orally/vaginally per night! and presto, your level will be at 20 and you won't worry. There really isn't any such thing as "too much progesterone." And one less thing for you to worry about. But if I'm not worried, you shouldn't either.

Hello doctor I just had a miscarriage at 21 weeks. Everything had been going well up until I began to bleed and found out I was 1 cm dilated. I stayed at1 cm for 2 days but in the 3rd day I dilated to 8 cm and ended up losing my baby. I’m still mourning for my little boy. I am a type 2 diabetic but I had my sugar under control the whole time. The doctors still don’t know what caused the miscarriage. Please help with any suggestions.

This sounds like “incompetent cervix,”
I have this and had to have an emergency cerclage when I started dialating early at around 18-20 weeks.
I then delivered at 36.5 weeks.
I had another full term pregnancy after and had a cerclage inserted as a prevention at 15 weeks and will do the same for each subsequent pregnancy.
Can you mention which prenatal vitamins are good for fertility?
Q10 Enzym, Methylfolate, Vitamin C, D, Zinc.. but usually the results in the studies derive from higher doses than recommanded.

I had a blighted ovum pregnancy in April 2021, I got pregnant again in November 2021,this time baby was fine, and had a heartbeat too, but heartbeat stopped at 7 weeks. I am broken now.

I just had a missed miscarriage and passed the fetus with the help of misoprostol 200mg 4tabs. Baby stopped growing at 8w2 and I was about 13w when i found out. My misoprostol experience was like labor with contractions. I would have been a First time mom 🙏🏽My NIPT came back as high risk for Turners Syndrome, but never made it to the Amnio. What do you think is next??

My recommendation is to feel comfy and cozy after your transfer. If warm feet makes you feel good, please warm up your feet. Warm feet don't cause implantation issues. Warm them up :)

Which prenatals have methylated folate? Or, how can I tell which have it? Will it be listed that way on the label?
Yes, look for Folate ((L-5-Methyltetrahydrofolate). Thorne is a good brand. Also, be sure to take a Choline supplement (500mg). The B12 should also be the methylated form.

What about having a bicornuate uterus? I've had 6 miscarriages over 3 years. First two unsure of cause at 6w, 3rd was blighted ovum, last 3 were SCHs. Normal karyotype tests and blood tests. Nothing out of the ordinary. Can never make it to 8 weeks.

My problem is failure implantation.I got pregnant natural twice and l lost it at 05 weeks.I had one ectopic pregnancy was growing till 7 weeks and 05 days and there was a heart beat .I had IVf with PGS on July 03 unfortunately was chemical pregnancy too .What do you think is my problem.I was diagnosis with endometritis .I had course of antibiotics. Verna Megalli I am not a doctor. But Have you asked your doctor about an ERA test? It is possible you’re missing your implantation window, as I was. After the endometrial receptivity array test, I got pregnant, I’m now 12 weeks. Of course that doesn’t explain an Ectopic pregnancy, but perhaps a chemical pregnancy. And endometriosis I’m not sure about. I’ve gone through four cycles of IVF; Three of which were failures, two failures of implantation and one of very early miscarriage at five weeks. The fourth one worked! After that we did the ERA testing. Just somethings I think about. It’s been working for a lot of women having problems getting pregnant and staying pregnant. I wish you the best of luck. Dr. Aimee is amazing I’ve been following her now for a year!!

Hi Maliha. I would consider: early progesterone + hcg testing and repeat every few days x 3 then repeat a week later then first ultrasound a week after that. It sounds like you have a very caring doc since you're on the meds you're on. Continue to check your TSH and follow it carefully too. Last year when I was trying naturally, I was taking Fertility Blends, took two bottles and stopped because I noticed that I wasn't getting my period and I got scared. So I stopped taking it. So I started drinking organic Fertility tea. After two bags, got pregnant. Was so happy and surprised. But I miscarried at 15 weeks, at home. It was so sad and I still cry up to this day. Hi love, am 26 n lost 1st pregnancy at 11 weeks, got pregnant again 2 months after n lost it at 16 weeks, a test was done n it came out that the placenta had two foci of infarcts and it does not need any intervention. Pls is there anyway to prevent such from happening again
Find out from your doctor if you had something called placental abruption. See if your doc has a special work-up to consider for you. There are many genes that can cause this but unfortunately we don't have tests for most of them. Ask your doc for a thromobophilia work-up. Ask them to consider testing you for: MTHFR, Factor V, and prothrombin gene mutation for example.

Your chances are less than 1 percent even with great levels but not zero. If it were me I would certainly try if I could! But go into it with no expectations at all and have your next plan discussed ahead of time too. The answer to : what would you do if this cycle didn’t work? Is important to know. You may want to skip to that instead of put yourself through a cycle. At the same time I wouldn’t want you to have any regrets

YOU DONT NEED TO LOSE ANY PREGNANCY before you get tested. I hate that drs believe in this. 70% of the time an early pregnancy is lost due to low progesterone. Early progesterone supplementation at conception and continue through first trimester can prevent it. A good prenatal vitamin as well. Also there are studies that suggest early ultrasound before 10wks can cause miscariage. The sound waves can interrupt with fetal development. Sprcially if its not done correctly. You can ask for hcg checks only to confirm healthy development. I wish drs stop telling people its natural to lose a couple of pregnancies before you get a good one.
There is no evidence that shows early US can cause miscarriage. I've looked into this extensively because I've had several children and several US in early pregnancy. Never lost a pregnancy because of it. I've had 2 losses and had US early that showed baby loss already. Other 6 babies had US early and it did not cause mc. Low progesterone is secondary high reason. First is genetic abnormalities...that is why 1in 4 pregnancies is lost to mc......some don't even make it past 5 weeks and are chemical pregnancies amd some women dont even know they were pregnant.
Muy doctor told me repeatetly that it's not true. Ultrasound doesn't affect the Baby

The reason for a pregnancy to miscarry at age 42 is likely due to the age of the egg (not something we can control). The best test to do now is the AMH test and day 3 fsh estradiol. Talk to your doctor about doing a saline sonogram and think about fertility treatment as soon as possible if you think that it's right for you.

Hello love! I have a question. So I’m now 11 weeks and 4 days pregnant after a long year of fertility treatments. I’m finally pregnant!!! So far everything has been great until yesterday. I had some mucusy discharge with blood in it. ( I’m so nervous) No other symptoms. Just that and it’s carried out through today. It’s not heavy bleeding it’s dark pink. And it’s not a whole lot but is this enough to be possible miscarriage? My baby has been chromosomal tested And is an IVF baby
Lilith’s Silver Moon it could be just from being pregnant. I also blame aspirin if a patient is taking it. A subchorionic hematoma is another possible cause or cervical polyp. If you haven’t had an ultrasound yet or are rh negative ask your doc for a scan and see if you need rhogam. So happy for you!
Egg Whisperer Show well that all makes sense. Because I do take aspirin. Just to avoid high blood pressure during pregnancy. The other things have already been ruled out. So I actually stopped bleeding, and I bought a heart Doppler. The baby seems to have a heartbeat and everything seems to be OK as far as it’s going now. Thank you so much for responding back to me I’ll be 12 weeks pregnant tomorrow. You’re awesome !!! I’ve already had an ultrasound and everything looks great. No bleeds!!! Baby is moving

Hello, A little about me I'm 39 years old. I got marry last year in 2019. I got pregnant 4 months after being married. June 29, 2019 I ended up having a miscarriage. After having my first miscarriage we went and got blood work done and my husband got a semen analysis done. I also had a biopsy done to make sure me ovaries was block which they wasn't. After that we got pregnant again this year in March of 2020, but the also ended in a miscarriage. Then I find out I had a big fibroid, which is the size of a grapefruit. What can I do to prevent another miscarriage? Because I'm turning 40 this month and would really like to try to prevent the next miscarriage.

Thank you for your question: I am sorry first of all you had a miscarriage. I would talk to your doc about doing a post-miscarriage ultrasound with your next period to make sure your uterine cavity is ready for another pregnancy. then go for it! Do some tests though first to see if you need to do anything else too. sending you positive thoughts and lots of love.

My period was late for 7 days and on the 8th day, i have a light bleeding that i was going to use a panty liner, I thought it was my period but the light bleeding continues in about 4 days and on the 5th day, I bleed like i have my period, that day, i used a pad and then the next day the bleeding continues but its not heavy, twas light. i used again panty liner for 3 days and went to my ob and took a pregnancy test but the result was negative, and then took again serum pregnancy test, the result was positive and then she prescribed me for preventing miscarriage and then she told me to have ultrasound and found out there was none in my uterus. And then she told me to observe my condition for a week with those pills and take a pt again and the result was negative. Can you please help? I dont know what to do
Hi Dane. It sounds like what you experienced is called a biochemical pregnancy. I'm not sure how high your HCG level rose. It sounds like your doctor gave you progesterone pills. My recommendation is to learn as much about your body at this time. Do an AMH test. Make sure your fallopian tubes are open and do a couple genetic tests: carrier screen + chromosome analysis (for you and your partner). "test don't guess" is one of my mantras. You can never ask too many questions when it comes to your fertility health.

Hi Dr Aimee, we are scheduled to do our second transfer 11/12 on a genetically normal embryo. But, we just got a call saying that embryo is was a 6bb and abnormal due to 0PN - not 2PN. We received our embryos genetic test results back in May as normal, but don't know what 0PN is and what the risks are. Please help 😣

I was diagnosed with endometritis after 3 chemical pregnancies/ early miscarriages . After 2 rounds of antibiotics the endometritis has cleared. My husband and I have had the full gauglet of tests and the only issue was the endometritis. Could the endometritis possibly have caused the miscarriages?
Red_ Delphino first of all I’m so sorry for all your heartbreak. I will be sending out positive thoughts for you. As far as endometritis, it is possible it’s related to the miscarriages but there still could be other reasons. I always recommend testing the chromosomes of the pregnancy because if they were abnormal or normal that tells us so much about why they stopped growing. Make sure you do genetic tests like an chromosome analysis on both of you and your amh. If your amh is low there could be a higher likelihood of chromosomal issues. Talk to your doc about ivf with testing of the embryos. This is what I would talk to my patients about.
@@EggWhisperer thank you for replying to my comment. My RE recommends that we start IUI ASAP but I wanted to try the old fashioned way while I try to lose weight and save up. Hopefully we can get pregnant naturally and it will hold. Otherwise we will start IUI Jan 2020.
Also, we got the chromosome test and we both are clear. My AMH is 1.4 which is normal for 38 from what I was told.

I keep losing PGT normal highly graded embryos. I have an autoimmune disease and despite meds I'm fairly sure my body is killing them but my doctor will not believe me---it's so freaking frusterating. All basic recurrent loss testing is normal which is why I think it's a less common issue too.

Hi doctor am 32 years old I have 3 children already . Suffering from miscarriage at the moment. So painful and expensive experience.

I failed my 2 IVF cycles. My DR recommended stopping IVF treatment because, it doesn't work my body and he recommended trying by natural now.
My period 28days cycle normally but this time, my period started after 18day. I DON'T WHY??

The period started because you ovulated early. I would check your fsh estradiol and Amh. If your fsh is over 12 and Amh is less than 0.3, at age 44 I would consider other ways to be a mom! Don’t waste your time being upset about normal biology. You are so so normal. Chance of pregnancy at 44 is 2 percent. Talk to your doc about family building options for you and start on a plan that will give you a 85% chance of success

Do some tests to make sure you know everything about your fertility like fsh estradiol and Amh and genetic tests like a chromosome analysis. I’m hopeful your next pregnancy will be healthy. If you were my patient I would do some tests and then based on the results have you start trying right away.
