Here is a very easy way to make a table in Adobe Illustrator with some cool tricks to get the color scheme just right. #illustrator #illustratortutorial
Thank you so much. I never created a table using Ai before. You made an important point about duplicating a table. I was wondering why we need to do that. But after I created a table, I understood why you did it. 🙂
Thank you! If you need to edit the table layout (i.e. add a row), what is the easiest way to get the text boxes to line up with the changes made to the table layer?
The easiest way is to simply copy a row. With the select tool, select all the cells of a row. Hold the "alt" key and click and hold with the left mouse button. While holding the left mouse button, drag the row to the end of the table. It should snap to the bottom edge and be aligned. Then, do the same for the text. let me know if this works.
Appreciate the kno you shure with us Please can you tell us hot did you create and manage the left side menu with name (brashes , color, layer and others ) 😊
Excellent and easy to follow tutorial. My question is... I want 2 columns, Colum1 would be about twice as wide as column 1. I looked into the settings and I don't see a way to make the columns unequal widths. Any thoughts? Thanks, Rowby.
Yes, you can make unnequal widths. Simply use the direct selection tool (tools menu, filled triangle cursor) and select all the points along the divider (click on the top left of the divider and hold the mouse button down, then click on the bottom right of the divider). Then use your keyboard arrows to move the divider to the right or left. Be sure to unlock all layers.
You can adjust the size of the rows and columns using the direct selection tool. Click and hold the left mouse key and drag the mouse over all the points along the column divider. Then, use the arrows on your keyboard.
Hello, everyone! Thank you for the great video...But I have a question. Why when I type my words on pats (these little ungroup squares)) the little squares became without stroke(( What should I do?((
Hello. When you click on a shape border using the the text tool, it converts the shape into a text area object. The fill and stroke define the fill and stroke of the letters of the text rather than the shape. My work around was to color the cells the way you like, then copy the table. Then, move the copied table over the other. Now, when you convert it to the text object, you still have the fill and stroke of the underlying table. They really should just create a text area object of the same shape as the object you click on rather than convert the shape into an text object. Let me know if this helps.
Thank you so much! I've been struggling to create a usable table in Illustrator for a while now. This method is what I was looking for.
