    Thanks for this tutorial! I just made it. I used a softer cord and my double half hitch lines weren't very straight, so I used the thinnest wooden dowel from my craft store (1/8") instead of cord for those parts and it looks awesome.

    Very beautiful. I believe it's needed much practice to do this pannel but I'm willing to give it a try. I prefer beginning and ending with the same stitch so I guess it's necessary to check the numbers of strings. I like your teaching. Thank you from São Paulo Brazil

    Love this pattern! I’m doing a wide curtain using various thicknesses of cord, as I’ve done before with no issues. After a row of double square knots I’ve tapered the rows so that either side has three rows of double square knots tapers up in the middle.
    I’ve then done a row of double half hitch knots (again from each side and rising to the higher points in the middle) and I’ve got warping. Any tips on how to fix this?

  • @fw3135
    @fw3135 4 роки тому +1

    Hi, thanks so much for this video I love this design. It’s a nice clean big design just what I was after to hang over my bed.
    I’m new to Macramé but I want to start big so I’m going to give this a go.
    Can I ask if I wanted to make this wider across for example nearly 4ft can I add an extra 20 cords at the beginning? (so 80 in total) I’m really asking if the number across has to be in certain multiples.
    I hope you understand my question. Thanks

    • @MrsScrib
      @MrsScrib  4 роки тому +1

      F W That should work. You just need groups of 20 to do the design in the middle so you should end up with 8 of the triangle groupings instead of six. Good luck! Let me know how it turns out. If you have a question feel free to shoot me a message 🤗

    hello thanks for the tutorial. In the wire after the triangles how do you manage to keep the base of the triangle straight? I had to use a wooden stick to keep the triangle straight

    • @MrsScrib
      @MrsScrib  3 роки тому

      It definitely takes some practice. You can sort of adjust each knot as you go to make it straighter. As you can see mine is still not perfect. I think the more you do it the better you get at making straight lines but a dowel always helps.

      Thank you so much! I'm copying and pasting a response from someone who converted it for me. I hope that helps!
      "The strings were fifteen feet (15ft or 180 inches) so those would be 457.2cm strands. I would think cutting them at 460cm would work well."

I would love to try this! one question - If I would like to increase the length of the project to 4 ft so entire finish is 3ft wide by 4 ft long - how much longer should my thread be 20ft? instead of 15ft - if I just want to make both spiral/square knot rows a bit longer - appreciate your suggestion :-)

    For each row of double half hitch knots, do you have to add a new piece of rope?

    • @MrsScrib
      @MrsScrib  2 роки тому +1

      Yes. I add a new piece of cord for the lines of double half hitch.

  • @jennbateman3828
    @jennbateman3828 3 роки тому +1

    When you are doing the double half hitch below the triangles what does the first one tie to?

    • @MrsScrib
      @MrsScrib  3 роки тому +2

      Whenever you're creating a row of the double half hitch that first knot can be tricky. A trick I like to use is to tie the end of the strand I am adding for the double half hitch to the wooden dowel just in order to keep it in place. You can either cut that added cord longer or just pull it through your knots once you have a few done.

    What kind of hook did you use to hang the dowel while you were working on this? I was expecting it to tilt as you were pulling knots tight but it didn't seem to

    • @MrsScrib
      @MrsScrib  3 роки тому

      I actually just used a nail in hook that I already had on the wall. With the macrame cord attached the dowel actually stays pretty tight to the wall and doesn't move too much.

    Hello, thanks for the video! I am three strands short.. how can I finish this project without buying more strand? Could I take off a few and make it 55 strands instead of 60.. will it still work? Thank you xx

    • @MrsScrib
      @MrsScrib  2 роки тому +1

      Sorry to be getting back to you so late. I would use 54 cords that way the design will still work. You'll just have three less rows of square knots and each triangle piece would be made with eighteen strands rather than 20. Let me know how it turned out!
