I'm getting to know your channel today and I was completely delighted with the beauty of this project of yours. Congratulations, you are very sweet and good-humored and the work was beautiful. kisses
Wowww... Genial!! Gracias. Saludos desde Argentina.
When I prepare a macrame I do it sitting on the floor and put it between two kitchen chairs. Then when its done I hang it. Your s is amazing for your first one.
Absolutely gorgeous!! I love what you did and the way you presented it. You gave me in this video exactly all the information I was looking for to try and make one of this works. Thanks so much for sharing. Elisa from Chile.
You can get a yellow orange color from turmeric and a deeper rust from henna, blue can only be obtained from woad or indigo, there are numerous ways to make a green. I'd love to see you try again
I'm looking for a green color from natural sources. So far my research showed me spinach and artichoke. I haven't tried it yet but what would you recommend for green color? You said there are numerous ways to make green. Thank you! I'd appreciate your feedback!
Lindo o seu trabalho de macrame, maravilhoso e sentir esta energia de gratidão que você faz o seus trabalhos brilha prosperidade em sua vida e de sua família.
Love your work and the colors you used! need your help if i want to make it a little bit wider 45 x 30 lengh, How many treads do I need and what is long I need to cut them hugs from Mexico
Hi Susy! Thank you for your kind words. In general the length of the thread could be calculated (x4 of the length you need). So I'd say for 30" length, you'd need to cut it at 120". As for the width, try to hang the treads on the dowel and see when you want it to stop. I'd say for 45" you'd need 90 threads but this is from the top of my head. I hope this helps
I made a macramé wallhanging that will NOT lay flat. Can you recommend something I can use to stiffen or "block" the whole project. Thank you for your help.
Hi! Beautiful and inspiring. How much rope did you need in total? How many seperate cords and what length did you use? I'm ordering some and want to know how much to get and how big to cut the strands . I was confused by how you explained it. Thanks!
Hi! Thank you so much :) I linked an exact rope on my blog. I used almost all of that roll. I’m sorry my explanation in the video was confusing 😬 I feel I explained it better in writing on my blog. Link in description. Please, read it and if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact me!
Hi there, I've read your blog and it says 30 threads 80" long. I'm assuming when halved they are 40" long? Otherwise the cut threads need to be 160" long. Could you pls confirm?
My wife has been inspired by your patterns and ideas to set up her own webpage. Thank you for the inspiration! Would you mind if I leave her website name on your page please?
Hi Jaqui! It was my first attempt to macrame and perhaps it’s not even square knots or I make them wrong 😄🤷🏻♀️ I’m showing in detail in the video how I make all the knots. If you see what I do differently from the normal square knots, please, let me know 😁
Hi Janice! I have all the details on the blog. www.ifonlyapril.com. It's been awhile but I think I used only one roll of rope (the one from Amazon that I have a link to). Happy creating!
I like what you did but find some things like the weaving, you are talking about the colours but not explaining how you did the weave. You explained the square knots but I already learned that from the plain square knots. I am trying to figure out how you did the horizontal larks head?? in the purple (it was that dull beige colour before you changed it)
Hi Ingrid! I think I mentioned it in the video, but here is what I wrote on my blog: Before you start, calculate how long you want the macrame wall hanging to be. Usually, you’d need to take the thread at least 4 times longer. My final macrame is 20” till the fringe so you’d need threads in about 80”. I hope this helps!
I came across an image online a long time ago and it was stuck in my head, so when I decided to give a try to macrame, that image popped up in my head and inspired me to make this one, while playing with natural dyes for rope. Tamar, as I can see now, is an incredible macrame artist with a lot of inspiring work. Let’s be honest, the macrame that I made is not comparable to Tamar’s and doesn’t lessen the value of her work. I contacted her about this and waiting for her response. I always give credit to the source of my inspiration so I’ll make sure to add Tamar’s information in description for anyone who is interested in purchasing her macrame.
I am sure you'd do that, that's why I wanted to tell you, so that you'd contact her. This way it's way better, as her designs are well known, so people who don't know you can misunderstand you. Well done for you, and well done for doing all the colors using natural ingredients
Tamar's designs are amazing and everyone should use their own creativity, but the types of knots etc in macrame are limited. I.e., no one artist has a monopoly on them. All the knots in April's piece have been used in one form or the other since at least the 70's. What you are stating is akin to suggesting that no one should do a pastel painting except the very first person that painted one & that they should never paint one without crediting the original painter every time.... All artists take inspiration from one another but they should put their own spin on it:)
I couldn’t see how you attached the last hang threads. I love it, so impressed with the final result
thanks from the deep of my heart .. i love it
Thank you for saying that!
Love this! Love the purple color..actually all the colors! This is beautiful!
Thank you so much!

I made tea paper craft, it was fun! It's awesome ! To use natural products.
Yes! I agree! I love the challenge😁
I think you did a awesome job on the macrame the colors are gorgeous. Turmeric spice is a good idea also for a dye. Great job!
Thank you Melinda! I tried the turmeric but it didn't really work for me :( maybe I did something wrong
@@IfOnlyAprilforse zafferano 😊
Love when you make the color by yourself... Love it so much cz it is very natural... 😊
It was such a fun experiment!! Especially during pandemic, when I couldn't go shopping for fabric dyes. And yes, it's so natural :) Thank you!! :)

I tried turmeric but it didn’t make a deep color that I wanted, perhaps, I didn’t add enough!
I’m actually excited to try again, so very soon 😄

Hi! I've heard if you use hair spray then it will stiffen up the whole macrame but I haven't tried it myself. I hope this helps
Thank you for the tutorial! It was easy and... fun! Waiting for another macrame project!😍
Glad you liked it!! I'll try to make a new macrame soon:)
Belo. Ensinar muito bem. Adorei seu método. Obrigada.
I would like to try this. Can you tell me what size (mm) cord you used and what the dimensions are?
could we use blueberries for shades of blue?
Try coffee and or black tea.
Hi! Thank you! I did try coffee for a beige color and karkade tea for the pink :)
