I think you may be right about that. I saw them there in '07- no glow sticks, or at least not enough for me to notice. Saw them there again in '10 and the things were everywhere.
Rashawn plays trumpet, and Roi brought him in a few years before his passing so that he could have a that full horn section sound. But I do agree, LeRoi is a legacy, and will forever be missed
It's not made up, glow sticks at Gorge started in 2008, a few days after Roi passed away. The crowd wanted to show their love for him, and everyone started throwing the things everywhere for about five minutes, then they displayed a picture of Roi on the screen and went into #41
They didn't even give Jeff Coffin a solo? That's great! It's sad that the DMB now has a "horn section," and not a sax player anymore with an assistant trombone player.
You are making it up. Someone brought a ton of glow sticks in and handed them out. Everyone chained them together stretching the whole place. It was sick.
pretty sure the glow sticks are in memory of Leroi, so the band was ok with it. I think its a new "tradition" that will happen every time at the Gorge. then again I could be making that all up. :)
@gonzo245193 I'm with you. Imagine having to stand on those things. Can't be too comfortable! In my opinion it's blatant disrespect to Dave and the band. We're all lucky they're so laid back. Some bands out there would cut a set short for something like that.
For sure in the top 3 41's that I've ever seen.
one of the coolest guitar solos i've heard...
Dude you're EPIC! You put up the whole show!! Thanks!

Fist pump at 3:50 when the jam begins- and yeah- Glowsticks onstage are an asshole idea.

@alex98814 #41
I wonder if the band complained about the glow sticks...
I imagine it might be very easy to slip and fall on the glowsticks. imo not a good idea to throw them onstage.
@calamitylauren Glowsticks should be banned from Gorge
