HFY is a story/series that takes a “human element” in either humanity or an “other” (race/species or object) that exists in a “setting” (future or other world/universe) with varying levels of culture, technology, society and history that help show in some shape or form the potential good or bad for humanity’s race/culture. In These stories Humans are often referred to as Human, Humanity, Deathworlder, Hellwolder in reference to the human planet of origin , Earth. This planet is seen by most of the universe as a place where only death and chaos can survive.

Humans Are Space Orcs (HASO) or Humans Are (Fantasy Race) Are used as a guide when writing.
In these Stories we normally View humans like the other races view orcs in a Fantasy Novel. We (Humans) share the same characteristics and personalities as orcs. Humans are normally treated as the outsiders and barbarians. Humans tend to be underestimated as well in these stories. Unlike Humanity Feck Yea , these don't always put a positive spin on humans\humanity sometimes looking at the darker side of human and humanity from the perspective of aliens.

Oh, yeah, I can see why this is your favorite. it's pretty much true. Boredom and caffeine set the Enlightenment into motion, and it's been "Ad astrae!" ever since. Wouldn't want it to be any other way.
Boredom is just the result of our greed for knowledge not being sated. In German, curiosity is called "Neugier", which is literally the greed ("Gier") for the new ("Neu").

Oh my goodness, this is hilarious! And I love the notion that it was boredom, not conflict, that pushes our advancement. Boredom, curiosity, and a prediliction for efficiency. Instead of dumping knowledge because of how it was used or where it was gained, we just quietly adapt it to things less damaging.

I've never thought about it like this, but the more I think about it the more on point it seems to me... It's true, though war is the secondary driving force of our race. Someone gets bored and makes something and gains some coins, then we get even more bored and someone pokes someone else in the eye and boom even more stuff to play with!

My first introduction to your channel and HFY as a genre was your reading of First Contact.
The first few chapters were the best.
By chapter 200 it was dragging. I gave up before chapter 400.
The ending there, my god, laughing so hard I ended up in a coughing fit!
Fantastic story love the channel but my favourite is “our attack was unfortunate” keep it up and thank you for making these stories available to someone who dose not read much (I can reed just fine I just don’t)

I remember this one. It is a very good story and completely on point. The only time I have noy been bored in the last 30 years or so is while being in combat.

I remember this story. I ❤ it.
UA-cam keeps trying to pull me away from this story.
I have it set to loop at 2x speed but every time I turn off a monitor it turns off loop and I end up on a different video.
I close chrome with the video playing on loop and when I reopen chrome it is on a completely different video.
When I let it play on loop for hours it ends up just stopping for no reason.
10/10 love the story and the narration.

I can see why you like it. Of course, it's a lie, our advancement is in fact driven by war. But we'd just had one, and needed a break. Fighting a huge multi species empire wasn't something we wanted to do right then. Fortunately, they were afraid of us. Making them a cultural satellite will do nicely.
I was thinking about the boredom and humanity when watching Jurassic World and they were talking about boring dinosaurs and needed more teeth in scarier dinos.
