- Hello friends! Come along with me for a behind-the-scenes look into what a week looks like as a small business owner who is celebrating 10 years as an Etsy Seller. I have orders to make and ship. I'm working on market prepping my hats and plushies. I am COMPLETELY obsessing this week about using my NEW embroidered eyes on plushies. I'm still trying patterns from a favorite book of mine and am also trying out new plushie patterns to share. So come along.

Glad you’re back!😊 I’ve been researching embroidered eyes for the last week…I too think they look so much better than plastic safety eyes! Would absolutely love a tutorial!❤ It looks like makers are charging $24 for the original loaf cats. Not sure if I can get that in my area.🤷🏻♀️

I think you should definitely charge more for it because it does take longer. Maybe I should write the pattern I came out with, it's much quicker, lol.

Hey! From a Cincinnati native & NKU alumni (also an ER nurse, but got my BSN from Thomas Moore). My husband & I and our two adult kids relocate a few years ago to the Gulf Coast. Enjoying the beach life & do not miss Cinci weather for a second! Haha.
Hey! My husband I talk a lot about moving to sunnier weather. My son has 2 more years of High School and then we shall see. All of our kids live close, but who knows they may follow. I can dream anyway, lol. I'd be fine, but the rest of my family are so fair complected that the sun is hard on their skin. They burn and don't tan. So needless to say, I'm completely jealous of your beach life, lol.

Would you mind sharing the mini version of the loaf cat? Ive been wanting to make some but hate how massive they would turn out with Bernat, so its discouraged me. LOVE the size you tweaked it to!

Oh I so agree about the loaf cat. I too have played around to make it smaller. Love your eyes . I too have started doing my own eyes I dislike having to put disclaimers on for safety eyes . Enjoying your channel.

Curious - did it work better to embroider the eyes after the squid was finished or prior to stuffing? The embroidery gives the face so much more personality than the safety eyes. Would love, love, love a tutorial!
I prefer to add the embroidery before I stuff. It's definitely easier. I am planning to film the video this week so stay tuned. Thank you so much for your comment and your support.

About ETSY review: YES, Etsy automatically translates all page and a customer can be confuse. I just looked at your page for owl hat pattern and aaaaall info was in spanish (acording my location) and in the description only TINY frase "original language", and if you click it (if you manage to see it) it shows english description. For the future the best idea is that you add in the description "pattern in english" and it will be traduce for any language, hopa it helps!

How do you get such a flat magic circle? Mine always ends up with a point! Thanks
Great question. I've found that if my Magic Circle starts with at least 8 sc it's flat. Anything else it's pointed. Thank you for commenting and watching. Much love!

I recently watched your embroidery eyes vlog and loved it. I am getting ready to try this on my many amigurumis that I have waiting for faces. I have some loaf cats and chickens. I noticed in watching work on the chickens that you are crocheting the combs directly onto the chicken instead of making it and sewing it on. Did you modify the comb pattern portion? They look great and like the way they look instead of how they come out in the original pattern. I am trying to give my chickens a better look.
Hello! I did modify the comb. It's much quicker to surface crochet. I sl st to join then ch 2, hdc and sl st in same st as your beginning sl st, then ch 2 & go to the next st & hdc and sl st. Then just repeat until you end with a sl st in the front. Hope that helps. I really appreciate your comment and you watching. Much love and happy crocheting.

Your hats are adorable, and I love the braids on the side as well. And the eyes of the plushies, - definitely CUTE with a capital C.
I still haven´t tried making plushies or amigurumis, - but when I do, I will probably embroider the eyes as well.

Hey Jen from South Dakota! Thank you so much for your comment. I do believe these embroidered eyes are superior, lol. I sell hats in all sizes. I have such better luck selling at Markets than on Etsy for most hats. I only sell Character hats and newborn photography props on Etsy. At markets I sell Character hats & I sell Bun hats, pom pom hats, ear warmers and hooded cowls. Maybe I'll make a video and show you, lol. Are you looking for something in particular?

what i do is figure the price charge that foe the small one , the jumbo size re figure the price cuz going to use more stuffing and possibly more yarn , make sure its ( for example purpose an even number more than original small version like $8 more ) then use a inbetween price for the medium
- so small could be $4 medium $6 jumbo $8 or small $5 medium $10 jumbo $15 whatever works for pricing and for buyability
