I remember flying with Chet in his piston commander to Los Vegas air show in the 80's. I remember him talking about getting a jet. I hope He stopped smoking. He's a great guy and gifted.
Hey Chet buddy, bobby voogd here trying to get at you. where are you man? we(and johnny hil), worked together at steward davis and aerotron, and then i worked with johnny again atfalcon jet and mid coast aviation. I've been living in the neatherlands for ten years. really would like to hear from you here @ youtube
Certainly a piece of history. Checked the registry and zero-charlie-delta is still on the books. Does Chet still fly? Does it still fly? Would love to meet him at the Compton Air Fair this fall. Keep your airspeed up! str8nlvel
Interesting story. Could you tell us more about Chets setup? I flew into Compton just last week and noticed a piston Aero Commander sans engines outside what looks like to be the same hangar as in your video. Is Chets business still there? Who's Roy and Bud - his sons?
@stratobee The commander currently there is coincidence. the business is no longer there. It's been gone many years ago. Roy and bud are two people who have been around that airport for many, many, years. The hangar in the video is the current home of EAA Chapter 96.
@str8nlvel I looked up the N number whne converting the video and noticed it's still on the registry. Chet hasn't been around in many years. Roy and Bud can fill you in on the history. Interesting story.

Love this. I uploaded a video of my dads Jet Commander leaving out home airport, Destin(KDTS). We seem to have the only videos of this jet on youtube.
Great video from the good old days.

Needing help with a question, Does anyone know where the O2 tank is located on the 1121 Jet Commander and could it ever be modified? Thanks so much.
