Thank's for the video. I had the privilege of flying a 1964 Jet Commander (N100WM) on a USPS freight route in the early 1990's. 'This was the same plane that was in the second Rambo movie. I totaled only about 60 hrs in the airplane but enjoyed every minute. Those GE CH610s could sure burn some fuel and make some noise! A real goer . . . like a F-104 full of mail !
My mom said my dad would buzz the house on his way back into town and she knew to get in the car and make the drive over to Destin to pick him up. Even with all of the military jets we have flying around NWFL she knew when this came over that it was my dad.
I fueled a few of these in my day. My uncle flew its later cousin, the 1124 Westwind with the Garrett TFE 731 turbofans. Great airplane.
Dont see many of these rare ships anymore. I miss seeing loud and smokey jets taking off like back in the day.
My father's company owned two of these, 925R, and the other one's call sign I don't remember. What a machine.
I guess this was a straight turbojet and not turbofan.

I always hated refueling the Jet commander ...ANY Aircraft I have to climb on to fuel I'm just not comfortable with ..

I bet the phone was ringing at the FBO right after he took off. Those things are loud.

It looks like it is not flying any more. A shame.
Nice capture. Rare bird indeed.
