The tones Paul gets from the pink strat almost make me tear up. To me the guitar is the sound of nostalgia for the days of my youth. Beautiful work sir.
You're very musical Paul, and I always get a lovely flavour about it, it's coming from you. Thanks for this guide, I often get confused about delays and reverb.
I wa working with exact the same recording setting the other day. instead of dotted 1/4 i used straight ones, but will give these a try now. Thank you so much for doing this! cheers
I’m amazed how your guitar brings that little tune to life. I was just waiting for you to solo near the end of the video 😉. Great video, tone, guitar and playing as usual Paul!
Pet, are you about? I’m happy to talk you through the ox/ boss TAE situation? Get in contact via the website and give us your number on the email and I’ll give you a call. Paul
Apologies for the newb question but I'm not familiar with this DAW at all. Is the delay an insert on the track and the reverb is on an aux/return? So the delay is processing into the reverb?
There are Delay and Reverb tracks in the screen capture of that DAW (I think it's Universal Audio's thingie), so it looks like neither are inserts on the guitar track. Not sure if that's the case here but what I commonly do is send a tiny amount of the delay channel to the reverb as well. So i have parallel processing involving 1. Dry guitar 2. Delay 100% wet receiving the guitar and 3. Reverb 100% wet receiving the guitar and some delay.
Probably asked this before but would you add another OX or a Boss Attenuator? The UAD forum seem to preference two OX's ( funny that :) and suggest that running the OX and Boss in tandem there could be some technical issues - none of which I claim to understand. Knowing that you have both I'd be interested in your preference? 👍
@@TheStudioRats Cheers Paul, appreciate it. I did watch a vid of both units side by side. They used a radial Headbone in-between for switching purposes. I assume I wouldn't need that for my needs? As long as I can run both amps and the Ox and Boss simultaneously 👍i'll be getting an X6 at the same time so I'll get that unit you guys suggested
Give that man a lifetime achievement award, seriously what a legend you are, Paul

Paul, I really like the guitarist guide concept. Great info. Thanks!

This subject has been on my mind for a long time.
I want that pink paisley strat! It's just beautiful.
Great content as always 👍 looking forward to implementing them myself!

Great video! What's your take on using reverb/delay when playing live? Do you set these effects according to the venue?
love the sounds you get!!
Simple, but very effective, and such a good sound. What pickups r in that start? it sounds really sweet
Simplicity is sophistication.
I recon you could create some great classes on studio work. Tim Pierce has great tips too.
Tim is the master.
Unreal tone man. Love the strat as well. Did you customise it yourself?
Cheers Mattie, it came like that.
Jealous of that strat. I have the Noventa strat and enjoy it, but damn the tones you get from that thing. Beautifully done
Cheers Wes

can you post something on how to make a bass guitar sound good when recording?
I’ll look into scheduling that
Hey Chris, I've had excellent results using A Tech 21 SansAmp Bass Driver DI. Super simple and sounds fantastic!
Hey you should start a course on how to mix with UAD to sound like this… 🙏🙏
Yeah, the mix sounds really clean for a recording example.
Great video. The amount of reverb usually depends on the sound you are looking for in your track.
Those chords were way sweet
What a Nice Guitar model name please?
It’s a masterbuilt fender strat

Pet, let us know what you get. As I said you are more than welcome to try both at mine. I know it’s a long drive but happy to have you.
